That's a regular amount? I only have it at dinner (well, did, now I barely have any).

If you're including that, I assume you're including the drilling of oil, refining, and transportation for the comparison too?

Edit: How far are you driving, also? A standard, every day run into the city? (40km there, 40 back)

I don't know of the fuel calculations. Source is the BBC info package on reducing greenhouse gases, though. Now if I could remember the address... Disco should have it in his IE browsing history, though!

I would have to see it to check if they followed Scientific Method, or just felt like entering the Climate Change debate.

The BBC is usually pretty good at getting their facts right. One of the few broadcasting companies I trust not to publish complete bollocks as serious advise to the people.

Oh, those 80 million etc numbers I pulled from the EPA, btw.

Oh, I trust the 80 mil, although BBC tends to go a tad heavy n what 'the average' is, and since it's centred in Britain, I bet the Hummer isn't driving far.

No, it doesn't mean you're allowed to spam any thread. This was left here as a comic relief, and for funny comments. But it doesn't mean any topic should be spammed.

Uh, Herkles... Sarcasm and rhetorical questions are well and good when they're used in the right context, preferrably in a humorous column or an argumentative essay, but you're tossing them left and right.

Since this thread is full of spam, I'll take this opportunity to suggest the following: if you have something to say, say it. Don't say anything more. Don't say less either, making obscure references that the reader has to interpret.

Make your point by stating your opinion and the arguments to support it. Ask questions only when you sincerely don't know the answer and want to hear it. Rhetorical questions are often a waste of time and only serve to distract the reader from your thesis.

This is just a friendly suggestion, because rhetorical questions that don't contribute to the argument piss me off. Either I have to ignore them, make a fool of myself by answering with another rhetoric question or sarcasm, or make a fool of you by answering seriously (like Nekh did above). And I don't particularly like any of the options, which is why I'd rather be spared from making the choice.
