Is there a way to get out from Shadowscape into Amia B? I am tired to waste my wand charges to port out.

Thanks.

Shadowscape seems to be the only place in B completely isolated from B.

Is there a reason for this?

I doubt it's intentional, merely a holdover of the area: Shadowscape is a plane and ergo on B, and its only previous access was from Amia Forest.

You give Disco too much credit for having a diabolical master plan sometimes, I think. Just take a crystal node on B somewhere? If you're on B, Wiltun is a free portal for you, you know.

I know you said you didn't want to waste wand charges, but... er-hem... well, I don't think they're hard to recharge. >.>

Making shadowscape accessible from B would also allow you to go there with A being full.

Aye, I never go to Shadowscape anymore for those very reasons and I used to go all the time.

Well, I rarely get a mythal drop nowadays Tormie. Must be lack of luck, but I am trying to hold on to those I have.

And Disco, a corner in the Khem area? Somewhere discreet and not isolated so we can cross a couple of areas and be able to access boats and such..

For some reason I don't get a warm fuzzy feeling from Khem + Shadowscape. The seem quite the opposite. Forrstakkr with its eternal darkness would probably fit better?

That undead/demon loving forest would be a good fit too.

I was going to jokingly suggest the gnomish testing range, since that's where the portal to the Abyss is. Making Forrstakkr into a planar crossroads might be a little silly though.

Maybe though in that one cave in Forrtakkr, that has shiny crystals but doesn't seem to have a reason for being there.

Well, the new underdark when it comes to life sure.. but, for now.. Forrstakkr isnt bad. And I dont second to add it straight in a hunting area, because it would make quite difficult for beginners rogue, shadowdancer and such that makes that city their home. If in the cave she will have to walk all the way to a closer city to get a boat to be able to meet people and go somewhere.

Ayla lives there, she will be ported to Shadowscape every time she logs in, and walk all the way to a town to get three boats everytime she enters B is a pain, honestly.

And even more now that mythals are not all over the place like they used to be.

Its the luck of the draw with mythals. I've gotten 5 greaters in one yuan-ti run, and now that I need just one, I cant seem to find any. *shrugs*

Just to add to that, Zanshibon is likewise cut off from B unless going by portal.

a portal in to zanshibon but no portal out again.

As for shadowscape access from B, perhaps the place in front of the Shadowscape store can be a portal again that takes one to Aigeshed? In particular, the well that has the purple light.

The trip through the forest isn't hard even for low levels and boat to Wiltun is free.

Btw, yes this is a shameless plug for more people to hit B.

The Shadowplane is a Transitive plane. I wouldnt mind multiple portals to various places. Make it B's Triumvir.

The Demon/Undead loving forest, the new Underdark and maybe a few other places. ::nod nod nod::

Not to mention, it's cooler than the Triumvir! >.> <.<

It does, to the forest of Dispair on A. What I was fishing for was for some way out of Zanshibon to somewhere on B.

The easy solution would be to make Kelvin's portal go both ways though another way out of Zanshi to somewhere could off course also be made.

It would be neat if it lead to somewhere on Frozenfar as few things I have noticed go that isle.

I would actually appreciate that. It would be like the many connections we have from underdark to loads of place. That we all can use to go from Orcs to Quagmire, from Quagmire to the Coast and such. I think they are great, secretive and it is fun to explore them.

I know it wouldn't be the same, but it seems quite interesting that the people of shadowscape would have their way out into our plane by many means. And people could even find out about them with time by means of exploration. Like I was doing when I thought there was an exit and entrance into B.

The shadowscape, I don't suspect, would openly flare it's many in-and-outs if it becomes like the Triumvir. If it earns any extra one-way exits, I would feel better if they are a bit trickier to find, or at least placed well enough to be secretive in feeling.

theres always that tower-like thing on the shadowplane, perhaps that could be an exit to somewhere?

Mahtan's suggestion of making multiple little access ways is pretty appropriate to the plane's nature. I don't see why Khem couldn't have an access way simply because it has sun-blazing days; bright light simply makes for darker shadows, and deep shadow is where the Prime Material and the Plane of Shadow touch the most.

It'd be kind of neat if the rifts in and out weren't big and fancy, but simply innocuous little areas in the niche of a desert cliff where the heat might scorch, but the sun doesn't directly touch; or between a tangle of frozen, Forrstakkr trees where even the animals don't go. Nothing flashy, maybe just a dust cloud VFX or something to Player-Hint for our memories once we know it's there.

The plane of shadow is almost the exact replica of the prime material plane, right? Portals can be anywhre, but a cool feature would be like in Mask of the Betrayer for them to only show up in nighttime!

Heck, even Wiltun could hide a shadowplane entry if you just need a "dark spot" for them.

I like Frozenfar getting one over Khem. I think Khem gets a bit more attention to explorative travel right now; although I'm no expert.

Are you suggesting that I should place a portal in Lord Wiltun's arse?

Perhaps within the fortress' cellar, in one of that rooms before going to the areas with goblins?

The only flaw with making it random, fully, is the chance of splitting up a group who doesn't really seek to be parted. Which, I don't know how often the Shadowplane gets groups traveling in together.

I think we'ed prefer 1 stable portal and the other little niches could be more random.

Or just 1 stable portal hidden away so Shadowscape isn't Isolated from B. A portal in Wiltun's arse would work too. Although I expect he'd be charging a fine for using that.

Eh... I don't like that. It would ruin the point of the whole thing, which is to have a portal to travel, reliably, in and out of Shadowscape. If they make them random, everyone will still be using their wands to go in and out. That leaves Shadowscape as unattractive as it is now.

IMO the shadow plane should link to other places but it should be a bit of dangerous journey to use it. you would know where you are going to but it may be dangerous to get to it.

If I have my Amia lore correct, Shadowscape isn't in the shadow plane. It's a demi-plane of it's own.

No, Shadowscape is on the Shadow Plane. It was ported onto the Shadow Plane and is held static there by the cities wards. The outskirts of the city can stretch out and change. But within the city walls, it will always be the same. The wards also protect tthose within the city from the majority of the negative effects of the Plane.

Plus, I think Torzeng has a good point to at least make the entrances "feel secretive" -- I think that would bring the warm fuzzies inside. Extra entrances/exits are always good, too, because then I can actually find one of them..

Shadowscape is a merchant town and lives off Trade and such along from various planes. It could still be secretivish, but they certaintly arn't worried about people finding the city and trading with them.

Just wondering if a portal/planar rift to somewhere on B has been looked at yet?

I can't find one in Shadowscape. I hope it doesn't connect the UD.
