Someone said the Death Domain summon was modified, but I don't see it in the Modifications section. Something about summoning a Death avatar at higher levels. Just pulling my chain?
Also, does it count as a Pet or as a Summon? Can I summon a Shadow through my Death Domain power, and also use Summon Monster?
Wanted to know before I chose. Was deciding between Travel (Haste and Mobility) and Death Domain. I'm getting War Domain as the other one.

It's been modified, you'll have to find out to what as you level your toon up. It's counted as a summon.

Yep, counted as a normal summon meaning you can only have that summoned on it's own, but it is better than most summons anyway.

I think if you choose death domain, it counts as two cleric domains. That's why the summons beats the others into paste. At least that's how it was explained to me.

Just one domain. If you pick death, you still get a second domain.

That doesn't strike me as correct.

The Death Domain summon is indeed quite handy.
The reasoning behind its uberness is i believe because you have to be quite high in cleric levels for it to be ubered. (22 and 27 for the final cuts)
The neutral/good death domain summon is less uber because it can't be buffed by neg energy burst.
The evil version is tougher because of this but its downside is the fact its undead evilness that draws the attention of the goody two-steps on the server.
You can find this logic applied to nearly all the undead summons on the server. They are balanced against the fact that your going to draw more pvp heat by having them than having an EDK. This was explained in Uces summons nerf thread but wa generally ignored by the general outcry of "Waaa waaa nerfage"
I do believe there actually may be yet another thread about this on the first or second page of General Discussion.
The Death domain summon upgrades at 8 - 12 - 17 - 22(?) - 27 or every fives levels after 3!
27 is (my opinion this) seen as ideal for the final upgrade because it doesn't permit Epic Weapon Spec, though still allows three levels of monk rubbish but to get the monk rubbish you forgo UMD, whilst three monk doesn't allow you to see the awesome monk store.
Persoanlly i hate these threads. You don't take a domain for the power you take it because it'll fit your intended diety. Seems a tad assbackwards asking about the power of the death domain summon then making a build, and then looking for a diety that suits the build.
/end rant

I had a bit of a problem today because of the Death Domain summon. My Druid was walking at the Orc Caves and up comes this character with the Death summon. I am not sure which, but it looked pretty undead to me, so he acted accordingly (no CvC, just RP about its undeath). The player behind her told me htat in the summon description it said Outsider. Could anyone confirm if the summons are all Outsiders, all Undead, or a mix of both, depending on Good/Evil/Neutral?
Much many thanks already.

I believe only the evil ones are undead

As far as I know, only the death domain summons that wields a scythe are outsiders. These are the good/neutral death domain summons I believe.
The evil ones can be 'healed' using the harm spell, buffed with negative energy bursts and stone bones. If that's not undead I don't know what is.
