*pads along upon the various roads through forests, tundras, swamps, mountains, deserts and other lands. As she goes, she collects tales of new places from inhabitants or nomadic groups including others who serve the balance in their own ways. What is brought back and placed along numerous trade ways are letters about such places though curiously bereft of greater details than a simple impression of the lands itself.

It's almost as though she purposely chose not say where such places were. Who knows, perhaps she wished others to discover the mysteries of such places themselves?*

-=Green Lake=-

While upon a walk through the forest, both this Warder and others had the honor to walk through an area where sits a large, beautiful lake. It is without taint and though wildlings and feral beings dwell near by, they have not spoiled its waters. However it is the ruins beyond the lake which cause this Warder to write of this place.

The ruins are quite old and there is a stone there which bears the tale of those who perhaps, dwelt in those lands long ago. What concerned this Warder and others was that a Ranger slew the chief of those people...but it is not certain why. The words spoke only that the Chieftain came from a place but not what was done to draw the attention of the Ranger so long ago.

The ruins at the green lake are old and much could be learned from them. The inscriptions were most difficult to read and truly it is uncertain why those who dwelt there once no longer exist.

Though many seek to do what is right, we are not infallible. Sometimes, learning from the past can aid the present and help those who seek to travel forward. Perhaps in time such a mystery may be solved for perhaps in haste, the Warder slew one who could have aided the Balance. Or slew one who was among its most dire foes. Such answers may prove of great worth to others but must be left in the hands of those who study the past and understand it best.

So much is unknown...in time perhaps, it will be learned by those who wish to seek such answers.

May the Father bless you and guide your steps.

Eldainia of the Green Heart.

((The notion of this newsletter is just a simple one. Nature lovers, not just rangers and druids, can leave their impressions of an area here, to perhaps inspire exploration. They are encouraged to leave thoughts of the place, NOT Directions or full listings of what monsters are there!! Thank you and I hope this is enjoyed!))

-=Fort Summer =-

While traveling around a town in the far reaches of the second island, strange sights met the eyes of this Warder. Small beings far more savage than their kin who inhabit certain woods. Also found were strange webs of what seemed spun ice. More about them or who made them is not known.

But most tragic was both a town and fort encountered by this Warder. It seems the town had once been filled with life but had fallen before the cruelties of large creatures nearby.

The road through the woods is barricaded, any who journey there must find another path through the dense woodlands and snowy fields. Such is how Fort Summer was found. Such a loss is without words to describe. It can only be seen to fully grasp the devastation visited upon those who were once there.

Perhaps those who are new to the lands, or even those who are not, would find renewed purpose in visiting and safe guarding those areas? That way any who seek to rebuild those places would have safe passage and know that they are being watched over as they travel?

Father guide you always,

Eldainia.

-=Snowbound=-

*She had placed a few copies of her travels on various places by heavily traveled forest roads. Once done she retired to her campsite. Sitting before a small but hearty fire, she shivered within many layers of clothing, each damp from still melting snow. Tucked against her stomach, an equally wet hawk looked ired beyond words to describe.*

To those traveling certain snowed paths,

Upon a patrol of the areas around Chillywick, this warder came across touches of unnatural frost amidst the snow. For those who are not in tune with the very life and breath of the Green paths, such signs might have gone unnoticed. Yes the areas are normally locked in ice during the cold months but this seemed almost a purposeful chill.

What was seen...and worrisome were nomadic groups of beings who seemed to thrill in the cold. These did not seem to be kindly inclined nor even indifferent to travelers. Perhaps they sought to expand the frozen wastes they guarded or simply to defend those areas against perceived spoilage. And wastes they were for nothing grew or lived there save them.

This Warder will be around there at times but bids caution to those traveling to such a place. There seemed to be something moving beneath the ice.....

-=The Dead Below=-

*she sat by the fire and using a stick of wooded charcoal, wrote a few copies of a notice which was later posted along the much traveled forest routes on both isles.*

Beyond the lands of snow and ice, up the treacherous hill of still white death sits the ruins of the children of Earth. Those who are steadfast have now departed to the lands beyond but so strong is their devotion that their spirits remain behind to guard what was once their home.

Within those halls sleep their kings. Within that place all of their gods have gathered to keep watch over those who had given them full worship.

Still the hearth fires remain lit, the barrels of mead still full to the sound and tables arranged to receive guests that will never come.

It is at once an inspiring and dismaying sight.

-=Lost River=-

*she sat with her back against the sandstone, eyes alert and looking across a fire so tiny it almost did not give any light and wrote a few more missives in between her attempts to ensure that the shifting sands were moving only from the wind blowing over them*

Caution to those who would seek this pass as a short cut to another place. The winds that howl like voices are not always simple breezes. Traces of sun bleached bones from fish and shells might suggest water nearby but none was seen.

Take caution when traveling ahead. The cliffs do not only hide much of the sun, but what is around the next turn. Take care and any who ward the green places might wish to explore this barren corridor should do so as well. Something feels unnatural here.

-=The Green Belt=-

*she placed the missive with something of a more upbeat manner about her stride. Though her head remained bowed, a soft song could be heard following her as she traveled*

The Father and Nature Court has seen fit to grace the eyes of all who travel in this place with the peace that comes from simply standing upon its soil. Though it holds both sanded lands and lush fields, the green belt is a marvel and a pleasure to patrol even if there is no need for such a warding.

When passing along its roads, enjoy it.

-=Amia Forest=-

The path through the forest is treacherous beyond what one would encounter in other nature-filled areas such as the Abyss. As one walks, all manner of little seeds and pods, dirt unmentionable, and filth falling from the tree canopy lodges itself in one’s robes and pack. If the traveler will be wearing an inner robe, as fashion demands, the inner robe will ALSO become host to dirt and plant material.

Wild, feral deer inhabit these lands and guard their foresty haunts with red eyes filled with hatred of fashion and all things clean. Badgers, filthy from rooting in dirt, dart out into the path to trip respectable travelers and chew at fine robes and designer bags when they fall.

As the wildlife-spotter continues, he or she would likely spot one or more of the dhaerow who inhabit the above ground areas. Likely there is an underdark entrance hidden somewhere nearby, no doubt disguised by the smell of animal droppings and the decaying fallen trees that druids find so charming. Also among the wildlife to be observed may be fiendkin, shadow dragons, and squirrels.

The more adventurous sort, who boldly ventures off the road, will be greeted by the horror of unreasonable prices. A human woman, as ancient as the forest, at least in appearance, vends potions at exorbitant prices inside a tree. One is advised not to complain, as a feral human stands nearby, smelling of plants, armed with a nasty sickle and ready to attack.

The Leaf-Lord has clearly blessed this area, as brother Orwais says. And so, all those of proper upbringing would do well to avoid this dangerous location. Using one’s portal wand is encouraged.

-=Webs of Ice=-

*she rested, bound deeply in reverie with a small stack of verdant leaves covered with silverish ink like the slime trails of a snail. Written upon it were notations likely to be posted the next day.*

The fogged woods lay thick in chill and mists so all traveling there are advised to bundle up warmly against such weather and darkness. To any who go there, they may see hidden among the brambles and stone cliffs, dark yawning mouths that lead to the bowels of the earth.

This warder ventured into one such chasm and saw many webs which seemed woven of ice. There were tracks etched into the mudded floor but were of a dire kind that caused this warder to depart quickly from the area. What other creatures dwelled within will be seen later when more supplies had been gathered. Still the steaming maw from whence the spiders poured was one to be entered cautiously.

To any traveling through these woods, take care and make haste!

-=Inn of the Damned=-

*She sipped her tea while resting beneath the peaceful comfort of the tent and gazing out at the cross roads. If her hands shook, that was likely the chill from the rain.

Later, she would leave a notice upon the roadside of Caraigh isle reading as such*

Be wary of the road less taken beyond the remains of what seems a peaceful encampment. Be wary of the black furred beast and the half men. Be wary of the clash of the tides upon the bleak cliffs and the siren call of what seems a haven.

Look beneath the grass and you will note the bones of more than just the earth. Be wary and beware of what awaits you at the end of the land.

-=Through A Mirror Darkly=-

*were it possible to see her face, one might have noted a perplexed scowl. As it was, there was still the sensation of displeasure from her form as she tried to figure out who to tell and where to place such a warning. Deciding on a post at the docks for Endir's Point, she simply left this message before boarding the boat and departing. It was not without a few glances over her shoulders now and then.*

Beware of the shadows. By all that is blessed, beware of the shadows. You will see what seems a world known but there is nothing right in such a place and all light is swallowed away. There is a loss of hope, a chilling of the breath and what seems familiar becomes a trap to bind you. Beware of the shadows!

-=Crystal Caverns=-

*leaves this missive against the cliffs near Bendir militia camp, frontier north as well as Wharftown.*

Above the hills riddled with blooded orcs and twisting roadways, there is a deadly place of wondrous beauty. It would seem that the very land within the hills has been shaped by a hand and heart as unyielding as those who live within the passages. One can easily become lost as every direction reflects back what is seen and what is behind.

There are sounds of life as well as the signs of such but one could be lost. Later, further exploring will be done but something to mark the way must be gained. For any who wish to venture there, be safe and beware.
