This is an idea I have had in my mind for quite some time now. Could it be possible to make a certain option in the color crafting dialog that chooses a random color from the full list of colors (160+).

This could be really neat, especially when the player wants to do a complete style revamp, and wants to scroll randomly on the color department until he/she finds a color of his/her liking.

Feel free to move the topic to the appropriate forum, in case this isn't the right one.

Randomly tap they keyboard on 1234?

If it would affect more than 1 colour it could be worth it. But for for one colour out of six, the effect never is a "completely new look" to me. Dunno, but the toolset is better anyway for experimenting, because you can save, undo, make copies of your clothes and put them on different people at the same time etc.

Regards, Ts

That seems a lot of effort for something you could just toss a die for.

The solution:
For that I suggest a d4 followed by a d4 and then a d12.

The Logic:
There are 176 colours abailable.
The first roll divides them in four, grouping them per 44.
The second roll divides the groups in four again, creating a group of 11.
The last roll chooses which of those 11 win (when rolling a 12, roll again)

The Example:
Starting the first colour, let's say a metallic one:
I roll 2, 3, 12. I'll have to reroll the 12 and get a 8.
The two means I'll be having a colour between nr 45 and 88.
The three means a colour with nr between 67 and 77.
Then the eight means colour 74 is the winner: Lush Faded Plum.

The Table:
First Roll Second Roll
1: 1-44
    1: 1-11
    2: 12-22
    3: 23-33
    4: 34-44
2: 48-88
    1: 45-55
    2: 56-66
    3: 67 - 77
    4: 78 - 88
3: 89-132
    1: 89 - 99
    2: 100 - 110
    3: 111 - 121
    4: 122 - 132
4: 133-176
    1: 133 - 143
    2: 144 - 154
    3: 155 - 165
    4: 166 - 176

That's awfully complicated and timetaking for one random color... o_O

While you're randomly generating numbers (the d11), why don't you just straight-out generate one between 1 and 176?

Why not make it so the entire outfit changes each part to a random number between 1-176?

Even in that form it seem's more laziness then actually useful.

I'd have to agree with this.

Why not walk to Arwen's and buy the ugliest suit available?

Why not ask the fashionable people out there to make you some surprise clothes? That way it will be a new look and it might just look better than random colours ...

It was more an excuse to procrastinate studying.
And the idea was one that could be done with the dice set from Amia.

And a random colour generator could be nice: but not entirely necessary either. An other possibility is to ask a person six numbers between 1 and 176
