Generally the stagnation is not intentional. People don't login and decide "Hey I feel like being predictable me today," they just do it because it's their groove and they fall into their daily routines. For example Jud will go stand in front of the tree in Cordor, Hunie will set up his stool infront of the law pillar and Jack will lean on his pillar to name a few daily routines. For a DM I can imagine that that would get pretty boring and the longer you've been around the more predictable you get.
I know I'll get slammed for being extremely skewed and biased for saying this, but I see DCs as rewards for having the guts to step out of your comfort zone. Doesn't matter if you've been around for 4 days or 4 years, kiss a DM's arse all day or argue with them all week, you step out that comfort zone and the DMs will reward you if they see it.
People don't put in the effort, people don't get the reward. Fair is fair.
Which is why I think Favouritism is a myth.

The people I am more biased towards in a positive way, get almost no DCs. I'm too afraid of the "favouritism stigma thingy". So I'd say it works in the opposite way, definitely. I agree with Galenson in that if you've got guts and you can take any IC consequence that is dealt, then you have the DM's love and affection. Or, at least mine.

Over the years, I think I've seen just about every DM say some form of this statement. I went and checked my log of who gave me my DC's and if the above is true Tranny HATES ME!!!! *runs off crying*
Really, though. Favoritism only gets called into question when someone has already tried to argue every other defense possible. Well if it's not A, B, C or D.... then it must be favoritism. Yeah, that's the only choice!

Occam's Razor, if its coincidence, its coincidence.

Everybody's using the Razor out of context! It's meant to counter hypotheses such as Plato's world of ideas, not to be applied to everyday life. Such a pet peeve of mine.
Personally, I wouldn't quite say I avoid giving my friends DCs for fear of favoritism. I don't really fear such accusations, because they're pretty irrelevant and an accusation doesn't change the truth. But then, maybe I would if I had friends I regularly RPed with. I play so little nowadays that I haven't managed to create anything but casual relationships and therefore I don't feel iffy serving anyone. You know, just to be the Devil's advocate and break the unanimous tendency to unfavour friends.

I wasn't actually thinking you alone there, but like we say in Finnish, se koira älähtää johon kalikka kalahtaa. (direct translation: "the dog that gets hit by a thrown stick will yelp" or something; basically means that an accusation scored without aiming to be personal, and somebody reacts to it)
I must say, that I also don't pay much attention to possible DC favouritism. I give them to anyone who happens to be RPing at the right place at the right time.

Yeah, I didn't think you were referring to me specifically, but it's a role I gladly embrace.

One other idea and something I noticed the last two times I was trying to run a PC event. There are few to no DMs on B. I just saw 7 of them on A but none on B.
Bit of an even distribution of DMs for the servers at all times if t here are more than one on? This would be helpful and encourage more B playing for times other than when A is full since new players might not be able to get into the packed A and learn about the particular thrill of getting a DC because there's no DMs around.
It's just a thought mind you.

If a DM is needed on B, but there's only some on A, you can use the "notify DM on other server" (or something like that) option in the rest menu. I wouldn't recommend using this for no reason, though. They may get upset.
I do have a quick question, though. If someone uses the DC wand to notify of good RP on B and there's only a DM on A, do they get the notice?

I have a special love for B, but current events have me logging every bit of time on A. Can't be avoided, really.

Galenson, I'm destroyed that you didn't include me in your 4 year cliche.
Damn you, that's it.
In all honesty, I was here just at the end of the "Era the Gods walked Amia", and the almost 5 years since has had it's ups and downs... but I've seen the server population increase to the point of needing two separate modules.
And just FYI - Magnum and I are good friends... if he ever decided it was too much of a bother to host Amia (which he very likely wouldn't until the server is dead), I'd host it again for free.
I don't see Amia going away anytime soon.

No, sir. Not on our watch.
