Insomnia set in and I need an excuse to refresh my memory of dragons and posting manuevers. So I did something productive.
I'm curious as to what the most popular dragon is. If you just go by power, it's kinda spelled out that outta the metallics and chromatics, Gold dominates. But once you add in appearance, abilities, quirks, etc, it could be a close race between any of them. I'm personally split between Gold and Black for 1st, Blue and Bronze tied for second. If you need to make your call off of looks, or stats, I've provided links that give both.
Here's the line-up!
Black
Blue
Green
Red
White
Brass
Bronze
Copper
Gold
Silver
Shadow
Prismatic
Yes, I'm omitting reference pages for the Force and Gem dragons, 1) because I'm lazy and don't feel like drudging up websites for em and 2) If one of those is your favorite, then you oughta know it's info already. However, write in your post for "Others" option. Feel free to explain why your obscure draggie is just as great as the others.
And sorry about the Prismatic's page, FR wiki doesn't believe in them.
Anyway, have at it!
Edit:
Here's a link to more dragons than you could ever imagine. Not a lot of info, but some have pic links too.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dragon_(Dungeons_&_Dragons)
(again, parenthesis mess up url thing so just copy & paste)
...And typoed. My 2nd is Bronze, not Brass. Sorry chatterboxes, real dragons let breath weapons do the talking.

This is easy.
Happy - Bronze
Not happy - Copper.

My favourite is silver. Becouse it is social and protecting, and likes to be in human/elf form among them. And it does not intentionally seek out evil to kill, but will right injust thing if sees one.
Cheers!

Red; They're conniving, underhanded, and the most ruthless you'll find. While the others are playing out their balanced little schemes, the Reds are taking every opportunity that appears; exploiting it, twisting it, and turning it to their every whim.

The "type it in your reply" option.
It wouldn't let me add any more choices.

Brass dragon. If I was a dragon, I'd be a brass dragon. Absolutely.
I do fancy the pink ones, too. For obvious reasons.
Edit: Ahaha, that BioWare prismatic description is awesome:
Quote: These magnificent magical creatures are fun, festive, and prone to unexpected mood swings. They keep a very neat lair with tasteful, yet bold use of space and color. These whimsical beasts are thoughtful and perceptive about noticing your new haircut or if you have purchased a new pair of adventure boots even when you are not so thoughtful. They can be counted on to get excited about going shopping and gossiping about that 'awful' new guy one of your friends seems interested in. They enjoy long walks on the beach, weepy films about relationships and eating ice cream directly from the bucket when depressed. You will only be attacked by one if you directly provoke it, or if you have no good answer to the question "Does this make me look fat?" -- which is the same thing.

Shadow or Bronze.
This does raise an interesting question, though - are they different 'species' of dragons, or different races? The latter leads to some interesting consequences.

Deep dragons.
They're incredibly cunning and cheeky, and if I recall the stats properly, and among the most INTelligent of the breeds, up there with the Shadows which I am also in favor of; both have fairly "alien" minds and I do so love me some aberrant psyche. They have a lot of innate talents to facilitate their scheming and manipulations of their Underdark environment, including natural shapeshifting (as in, they can do it as a breed and don't need spells for it) to use other races, cities and cultures for their playgrounds of intrigue. Both Deep dragons and Shadow dragons always struck me as great antagonists that you never got to see, that would never face you head on, that you wouldn't get to fight in some glorious, bloody battle. Instead they would beguile and subdue you with cunning, treachery and you might never even know what it was that had worked against you.
Bronze dragons.
I love their tactical minds and that they're predisposed to not only assisting in war for a just cause, but are also very good at it. I also love that their breath weapon is electrical and that their preferred habitat is coastal, being semi-aquatic. I just imagine this gleaming, disciplined beast crackling with electricity arcing between its sea-salt covered scales, smelling of the ocean and oxidized metal like a trumpet of tempestuous war.

I'm going to stay strictly with the classic metallics and chromatics. Planar dragons are "meh", and there are several FR-specific races like Song Dragons and Brown Dragons that I don't really know much about.
Brass are my favorite. They don't have this boring holier-than-thou thing going on. Besides, they look unusual.
Personality-wise, my favorite chromatic are the blue. Damn, they're ugly though!

Silver. They look the coolest to me and I can tolerate their "goodie good" attitude because they take a much more passive approach to do-gooding and will usually only assist if something is way outta whack or they're asked.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
White, blue and green dragons look the least physically appealing to me, whereas Silvers are the most charming and Golds most sophisticated.

Green's. They combine my festish for Nature-type chars and the option to be badass villain who can justify itself under the 'I am on the top of the food chain' priniciple.
The rest can all burn. Except the prismatic ones. The Bioware description alone makes them worth having around.
