This is not meant as a jab, it's only an observation. I rarely find RP, since the one who was working on Rizzen's conversion is kind of in a break and the other one that could help me has his own favorite characters and I don't want to keep pushing him for RP and to get his priestess.

The following letter is delivered, through Speedy's, to every known Temple in every town.

To whom it concerns,

I am seeking guidance concerning the powers above, the gods that watch over this world. I would like to either meet a priest(ess) or have a letter delivered to me considering sharing lore about your god(dess).

Once a priest of Vhaeraun, and now on the verge of conversion to Eilistraee, I am still looking for another god that would not necessarily be Eilistraee. ((see OOC note above))

Are there any gods or goddesses of the pantheons that would welcome and accept drow? I am aware of the recent attacks launched by drow from Below, and of the plague that's been assailing them, but I assure you that I am not one of the Lolthite drow, nor one of the plagued.

If necessary, I am willing to go through tests concerning the truth of my words and intentions, and my wish at redemption.

A letter in reply can reach me in Endir's Point, at the Frozenfar, if sent to the largest house by Ralten's Retreat Inn.

A letter is sent out to the Frozenfar from Salandra's temple clearly stating it is from a one Weston Carter.

"As there are many gods and goddesses out there, shall you be able to find a calling that soothes your heart if you truely seek a redemption from Vhaeraun.

If you would like, I am willing to share with you teachings of Salandra in personal. I would also be willing to share light knowledge of other gods and goddess that I give prayer to as well.

It's a shame that no-one following the Seldarine replied to me yet, but I suppose it is to expect. I am still optmistic, though.

Recently I have been spending some time at Amia Forest. I usually set up camp there and sometimes stay around watching adventurers and travellers walk by. Sometimes, I just go for a walk, patrolling roads.

So, if you mean no harm to the woods, animals and protectors, feel free to come meet me at the forest, so we can talk. I would ask understanding too, as you might or might not come across my tent when I am talking to someone else of an opposite faith. In this case, leave your heated religious debate out of my tent if you still wish to talk. It would disappoint me to be expelled from the forest because of one's inability to keep a level head when talking about one's patron deity.

Religious debates can be interesting, if you know when to draw a line, if you know to be diplomatic.

A letter arrives from the Commonwealth of Cordor. When handed over by the messenger, the letter itself feels very heavy; when Rizzen turns it over and notices that the seal is, in fact, a golden coin with the face of the Merchant's Friend upon it, smelted down to seal the contents, he is certain that the source is the Temple of Waukeen in Cordor.

Once opened, the letter exudes the fragrance of lilac and Khem spices. The handwriting is not eloquent, but rather legible and tasteful. The paper is no mere chalky, pulpy bit of papyrus. It is authentic vellum, wonderful to the touch.

A reading of your letter places the soul of query into a beautiful frame: is the Merchant's Friend a friend to all, or merely the fair-weather friend around when the majestic bull rules the pasture, only to vanish when the bear leaves hibernation?

It is a difficult question with an equally difficult answer. But at least this much I can offer free of cost:

Under the eyes of the Merchant's Friend and the High and Holy Coin, are invested almost completely in a long-standing campaign of terror and brigandry, and are themselves no friends to merchants. Insurance companies as far as the mainland have collapsed due to the cost of ensuring safe travel through areas prone to drow raiding. Entire trade routes have been subjected to costly adjustments in logistics to skillfuly evade attracting the attention of the once-fair now-fallen. Lucrative arrangements between enterprises and elven nations have collapsed due to the mere insinuation that fair business be offered to drow as well as to anyone else. In addition, it is a common practice for drow of many faiths to practice slavery, and slavery is indeed a very grave concern of the Waukeenar faith: how can one barter in slaves, when there is no quantifiable value for life save priceless?

Yes, it is well known that there are drow existing that are not caught up in the Web of Lolth, but by our estimate it is less than five percent of all drow. Due to an overwhelming social lack of faith and trust in the drow, and also their customary lack of business acumen caused through no fault of their own but merely through poor social nuturing and lack of shrewd, market-based education in the vast dark beneath our feet, few if any are ever able to find truly profitable work in merchantry, trading, contract negotiations or commerce.

I shall not say that it is impossible that the Church of Waukeen would accept a drow whose claim it is that he or she is the one fly that escaped the Spider's clutches, even though, by standard, a drow's word is worth less its weight in gold than the word of a surface-dwelling race. Please take no offense at this, but it is the way of the Waukeenar to know the true value of all things.

I shall say that it would take a lot of effort to be a friend to the Merchant's Friend and receive an equitable return. After all, even luck has its role in commerce through risk and reward, gambling with a gambit, and the oft-wished-for windfall.

I follow Selune, the Moonmaiden, goddess of the night sky. It is she alone who has the power to reveal and stop evil deeds done under the cover of darkness.

Selune is also primarily a goddess of understanding and acceptance of all races that the moon's light falls on. She promotes empathy, even toward ones quite different from yourself. Because of this, I think you'd be a welcome addition to the faith here in Amia. Her temple can be found in Wharftown.

I write this because I feel you might find a connection to a goddess who also knows the power of the moon, and knows that power, I daresay, more intimately than the Dark Dancer.

If such was my intention, I would have stayed with a drow god called Selvetarm.

However, I will have to decline it. As uncommon and unexpected as it may seem for a drow, I do not seek a tyrannical deity.

I respect Bane, as one should. But I would not be one more of his followers. Of tyranny I had enough from Lolth and Her females. And from Tiamat and Her kin.

I'll try my best not to advertise my faith with fair speeches and so forth, as I believe it is the person's heart which chooses the right faith.

I am, however, very pleased with the open attitude of your letter, in which you truthfully describe your past. I can also imagine such earnest act has peaked the curiosity of my God, He of the Third Eye, or more commonly known as Savras.

I cannot offer you a glorious temple or a host of zealous followers, as I myself have not come across another of my faith. I can only provide you with answers, as far as I'm able.

Should you wish to know more, I live in the desert of Khem, in a small tent. I frequently visit the town of Djedet for supplies.

I understand your confusion, I've been through it myself, when I went through some extreme personal trials. However! Whether it's often done or not, I see no reason not to offer Hanali Celanil, the goddess of love and marriage, beauty and family. She's my own patron, and I'm no cleric, but...I can think of nothing one needs so much as a loving family. Give it some thought, and I'm always willing to talk, even if you don't choose Her.
