After a week or so, Driarry finally sets sail for Underport and comes across th e notice upon arrival and writes c/o the Wizard's Tower:
Dear Patches
Youz will be most welcome in Charag meez assure youz! We even gotz our own Alchemy lab for wizard's like youz. Dere always beez experiments going on in our village, as well as gem collecting, cooking, 'shroom farming, roethe herding, fishing, brewing, weaving and tailoring and all dem tings dat we Svirfneblin do to survive.
Wez gotz a big Engineering School too, for dem studious types for research and inventions and a massive foundry, if youz want build new machines and we import turnips from Rock Gnome cousins.
Me can pickz you up from dat Tower you stayz at.
Or youz can follow meez directions (a map seems included that would make sense, only to gnomes).
We accept all types of Gnomes here 'cept worshippers of Urdlen. Demz be notz welcome for obvious reasons.

*On mention of Urdlen he spits on the ground and grinds the saliva into the dirt with the heel of his boot with a grimace. The note gets folded and he returns to Ruathym to await Driarry for guidance with a note left to that effect*

*A scruffy looking deep gnome with a deeply hooded cloak and voluminous sleeves that hang below his fingertips arrives in the Svirfneblin Home this day. A worn pack upon back and a carrion crow trailing behind, he sets up camp behind the large central structure in the opposite corner from the leyline crystal. He speaks little and keeps to himself, spending time in the engineering lab and collecting items in the mines when he isn't sleeping. If approached, he labels himself as "Patches" and claims to be a wizard of minor ability who is on sabbatical from his studies at Mystra's Tower in Ruathym. He wouldn't be classified as friendly or outgoing but instead comes across as a quiet and solemn isolationist.*
