Just a kinda warning: I am gonna change the forums a bit.

It took a bit of hacking and stuff, but it seems to work more or less. Logging in and out doesn't work because of some phpBB nonsense.

I tried to consolidate as much vertical space as possible and got rid of the frameset that causes the sidebar to disappear now and then.

O, and I changed the names of the servers.

Woots, looks good.

Awww... the sidebar's not black anymore.

Yeah, makes it easier to look at.

Looks much better than the old one.

Black and gold is still ugly though.

Looks good

Going to take some time getting used to though.

i veto the change, its just not representative of the server

that is obviously not ultrinnan* on the top bar, and it should be

edit - so now we have am-I-a, and A-mia?
edit2 - i was thinking after my post where a palm tree in cordor by buildings was...

I think the sidebar should be black, and get rid of those borders. Make it black and smooth.

The old design is one of the worst in all of Internet and this is a significant improvement.

Agreed with black sidebar, the brown kind of... burns my eyes, it seems so glowy in contrast.

No, leave it. IT doesent look like a 95 version of a gothic windows.

People shouldn't put their screens at full brightness and contrast just so they can cheat the dark areas in the UD. I keep my screen calibrated and the brown background-color is barely visible.

I like the new version, I do have to wonder though are we still using PhPBB2 as the source code for the fourms?

For a compromise, is it possible to make the colours selectable in the profile? Like different forum styles.

Just get rid of the brown, please. It's butt-ugly. I don't care if it's black or not, but that shit-coloured block really looks like it's a mistake in the stylesheet.

Or put some background image there. As long as it's not a different colour.

Black and brown do NOT go together, you hear me? No chocolate and licorice together, I will not accept such a fashion faux-pas on this forum!

That is a good idea, having different styles or colors to chose from will be nice.

Oh Jebus. Just have the left bar take a background picture and then accept the new look of the forum. We lived with the crappiest design for years, this is far from worse. I can see this being 10 pages long tommorow filled with moral debates <.<

Keep the brown, change the black, if anything!

I do whatever I please anyway. That's the nice thing with hacking, it's almost impossible to figure out what somebody did afterwards.

Don't know what I think about this. I kinda liked the prestige-y shiny look of the current sidebar. Of course, I prefer PHPBB3 over 2. If I had to make any serious complaints, it'd probably be about the slogan at the bottom. It looks messy when it's not at the bottom of the screen like the current one. Makes everything scrunched up and distracting, but that's just me.

Yeah, I have to finetune a few things.

Main change is the table layout instead of the frames, though.

Oh, I just noticed that. No more wire frames. Guess the sidebar was getting burned into the monitors of certain frequent posters?

Sidebars are also old-fashioned and broken. I don't think it's officially recognised HTML even. Sidebars don't pass a W3C validator.

No, many people complained about cookie errors, frames not showing up, etc.

Borders on the Nav bar needs to go I'm with the Goose 100% on that.

The brown actually is a clay-red/brown.

Also, the black up on top needs to go too, so that the Amia merges/flows better, or the brown be a bit of a darker color.

AND I can't turn down those colors, my screen is properly calibrated for image-work. ;-;

Heh, and I actually count on the sidebar vanishing since it frees up a little space when I'm not fullscreened. Oh well!

Does have a new bit of sleek without feeling too drastic.

Looks pretty cool to me, I like the idea of the player count on the side bar and how it's not A or B-Mia anymore.. I tried to figure out how to link the server player count when I set up the Underdark forums but I swiftly gave it up as a bad idea.

Maybe if you make the main square a very dark brown instead of black it would look better

It was the first thing I noticed, before looking up at the pretty new top of the screen. Although it did log me out.

I barely notice the brown at all. I'm loving the Djedet screeny though

Looking good man. Although perhaps the sidebar stuff could be added as more of a Top bar? I dunno, been to long since I played around with website design.
