Is there any way to stop the sidebar links from opening in a new tab?

That's a setting in your browser, methinks. Mine open in the same just fine. In FF.

They open in a new tab for me too, and there's plenty of links who just open in the same window for me.

I think issue comes from side bar links still having the target="main" tag. There is no 'main' frame now that forum switched to table layout.

Seems like browsers react differently to the missing frame : IE opens a new window while FF discards the tag (and works properly) ?

just my 2cents, may be wrong.

Quite sure that's the issue. Fixed.

Fixed the extra bit of space in some pages as well.

I have put a quick hak in the forum that's so ugly that it makes me feel ashamed, but phpBB isn't really helpful when it comes to adding new bits of code.

Put 'nopanel' in the Yahoo Messenger field and the left panel disappears from the forum.

Works great, and the thinner set of links above is awesome!

The only problem is that there is no way to see the panel when you go back to the 'main' website and not the forum.

Indeed. I can't figure out any easy way to make that happen. You want the panel, you remove the 'nopanel' line.

As I said: it's dirty.

Just thought I'd mention it because it's odd.
If you click on an area that you don't have user permission to go into (e.g. that of another faction), the sidebar loses the number of players on, the time since last reset and the module version.

Was talking to TheUltimateSin in game, and he says that when he tries to log in, he just goes right back to the login screen and nothing happens. I suggested CTL+F5 (clear browser cache?) and he said that the login still failed but that it kicked him back to the main page. He was able to log in normally yesterday and is using IE. He said he didnt think he'd done anything that merited a forum ban  so I figured it was related to some of the recent issues with the forum redesign.

Try to remove any Amia cookies. The old forum had a tendency to install two copies.

Hmmm, since we're discussing forums, the subrace page - is there any way to get those to open in the same page? Any of the links I have to open in a new tab or they'll open one of those tiny little windows?
It's just a minor thing, and if it's not worth the effort it's not worth the effort :D

It also appears to do this when it has 'your message has been posted' message or whatever it is that it says.

Subrace page opens in same screen? Just not the little poups, and I think it's rather nice that they don't do that.

I know about the player list disappearing during 'your message has been posted', but I can't be arsed to change it.

I'm curious if the server info on the sidebar can cause lag on the server? Like for example if there are ~50 people surfing the forums opening 1-5 links in tabs with each page asking for a real time server stat. (If it is indeed a realtime server stat.)

I doubt it, it's a very simple database call.

Yes, Disco, I know it's just a hack. Thanks for that option, at least.

Some Yahoo-account collecting bot will add a certain "nopanel" quite a few times now...

Just get rid of the brown, please. It's butt-ugly. I don't care if it's black or not, but that (censored)-coloured block really looks like it's a mistake in the stylesheet.

Or put some background image there. As long as it's not a different colour.

Black and brown do NOT go together, you hear me? No chocolate and licorice together, I will not accept such a fashion faux-pas on this forum!

Clearly not everyone got the Brown and Black message, Including the NWVault site

Well, that's more like a black belt on a brown coat. Acceptable.

Brown belt on a black coat is less so.

We need some stuff on the navbar for the same!
