Does it affect Champion of Torm class too? or just Pallys and Clerics?

I think all divine classes are included. Paladins, clerics, druids, CoT's and BGs.

(BG not being exclusively divine, btw)

Having had a BG that fell, I can tell you it does affect them. So, I'd be willing to bet that it could hit a CoT as well.

I am quite sure the request was for all divine classes (which I guess includes rangers in FR, btw), but you never know if the script actually works on all of them. :D

The "fallen" scripts are alignment based.

A Paladin will fall (they need to be LG)

A CoT will fall (they need to be non-evil)

A cleric won't. (They can be any alignment)

Mechanically atleast... if you want to get a character to fall RPwise, I would really seriously reccommend speaking to a DM first.

Isn't a cleric losing the favour of their deity the same thing, essentially?

Clerics can fall too if they stray from their Deities dogma.

As for rangers falling... with 3 ed, i cant really see how that could happen. Except if they start pissing on their deities idol or something similar. In good ol' 2e you could become a 'Fallen Ranger'... which i often became because it was a cool title.

Nope, they're not alignment based at all.

And a cleric can fall!

What about monks? I dont think they 'fall' so to speak but I recall reading that if they were to go against there oaths and say to say they may 'fall' and monk levels will turn into fighter instead, is this true or have a magically concocted this from somewhere.

EDIT : Typo's.

Monks are not included in the Amian fall-system. Might be a fun addition, though.

Nah. Makes no sense. Monks don't fall, monks can be of any alignment. You just can't advance in Monk anymore if you're no longer Lawful.

I would actually go as far as to say clerics are one of the classes alongside paladin most likely to fall. If they fail or directly go against the preached words of their patron their connection with the divine will be severed and they will loose their ability to cast spells.

And 3.5 rules state that Ex-monks (those that advance in another class or move from lawful aligment) retain all their monk abilities.

Yeah, Monks can't fall. They can stop being Monks if they stray from Lawful though. They become Ex-Monks but retain all the levels they've gained. (including all the perks that come with those levels)

I'm sure a cleric has fallen on Amia, but I'd love to see it happen more often. Especially in the really strict dogmas. I think a fallen cleric would be way more interesting than a fallen paladin. Not really sure why, just seems to be a pretty interesting dynamic to me.

Yes! Make rangers fall too! Anyone that relies on a god for their power should run the risk of 'falling'.

Ooooh. -Amian- based fallen system. Never knew there was such a thing, must be something that doesn't happen often.

Clerics can fall and when they do they can request (or get forcibly given) a "Fall Widget" that weighs a lovely 15lbs and prevents you from casting your spells.. and it has a lovely message that pops up and causes your PC to spazz out whenever you cross a transition.. oh.. and it's bugged (Disco, I'm sending you a PM with regards to this).

No need. Just bump the thread I made about it. :P

Actually, I will do that.

I thought I was the only one suffering with the breaking of stealth when going through a transition, so I didn't want to insist on this too much.

15lbs? Isn't that a little, you know, excessive?

@ Meta & Yurell, concerning the weight:

Responsibility Weighs?

Freedom Weighs?

The Price of Betrayal?

The Consequence For Disregarding The Favor Received?

Just kidding! Don't kill me!

Anyway, I never noticed the weight. o.O

I bet Kjetta would love to slap one on ya. He gave my character hers originally and kicked off a quite extensive bit of RP to get her powers back.

I dunno, it doesn't realy affect me because I can carry the extra weight easily, as could most Clerics or Paladins... so it's no big deal.

Redemption quests can often be quite fun, by the way. I recall running a few, after slapping the fall widget on a couple of PCs in my time (one of which -asked- me for a fall, and elaborated on why he/she felt the fall was deserved) I think some were very entertaining.

So asking any DM for a fall, if you feel your character ICly deserves it for some misdeed, is quite alright.

Falling happens quite a lot, in fact. DMs get messages when a fallen PC logs in, and I've seen those a lot now, though I haven't felled anyone myself lately. But I doubt a lot of characters tell everyone that their deity cut the mana-cord thanks to unpaid bills of reverence.

Is monk a divine class? I thought their powers come from Ki, whatever that is, and are not given to them by a god.

Monks are not divine but many monk orders are associated with a deity.
