*Two posters are placed on stands near the mage guard protected proclamation by some laborers. If asked, they were hired by 'The Flying Shark to place these public service announcements.' The stands were ornately carved, and capped with a wooden winged shark visible atop the poster stands themselves.*
Even the Gods themselves speak out against the Thayvians!
The Golden Rule of Waukeen states:
"Increasing the prosperity of all sentient minds will lead unto to the Golden Times for the every-man. A time of plenty, and rebirth - if the enlightened man accords to this tenet with the proper conduct."
By the Merchant friend's words, and Thayvian actions, they do damn themselves. To say the people's actions and will violate Waukeen's dogma is an affront! The Red Wizards would take the Wealth of Cordor and send it to Thaymount; a place rife with corruption, greed, power mongers and assassins. Cordor's wealth would be pillaged by them and with it the people's future. The monies will never be used to aid the people's own golden age! But to dominate others under tyranny and oppression!
Those who decry your will to cast out the Thayvians fear the golden age that you would make for yourselves and your city. It is time to be strong Citizens of Cordor. It is time to show your grit; that same steely resolve which has kept your spirit going and Cordor growing for over two centuries now. Even in the face of unspeakable monsters, disasters and wars, you have endured - you who are the soul of this City.
For the People, by the Will of the People, Prosperity for all.
Long Live the Commonwealth.

The Words of the Lady of Magic herself give edict on how to combat the Red Menace!
"Magic is to be used with deftness and efficiency; never carelessly or recklessly in its release. When magic would cause damage to you or yours, keep it from yourself, tossing it to other planes if one must."
The Lady of Magic herself has given her blessing, let your words be heard, cast out the Thayvians so that they can not harm you anymore!

I have taken up the mantle of service to this city. As my fellow citizens and I have spoken, and are likely still in the process of making our voices heard while I daresay you may hold to your opinion, we too should still hold to ours without undue malice or insult on the part of people whom may not have the grasp of mind to understand what it is to see children burnt in the street.
I may not have been around during the time Thayvian Red Wizards burned the orphanage down but I imagine there is more then a sufficient memory in those that WERE here.
Some say to forgive. Mayhaps forgive, but never forget. The Red Wizards were arrogant to take CHILDREN, CHILDREN as hostages. It is my hope that in serving as I do I can see the children provided a safe community, safe from the machinations of the Red Wizard, safe from the machinations of the uncaring adventurer, safe from anything which should deem itself better then the Citizens of the Commonwealth.
Johnathin Leohnard was an orphan. All children deserve the utmost protection, for they may rise up to become our greatest citizens. All children deserve the utmost protection, for they may one day rise up to carry out great works. Johnathin may have been taken before his time, but his spirit was dare I say it this way, infectious. He advocated peace, I say yay let us continue to protect the Children of the Commonwealth through our continued interest in this petition

Within an hour of the late Johnathin Leohnard's name being invoked, two things occur: a line forms at the the site of the petition to banish the Thayvians from Cordor permanently, garnering 51 additional signatures of Commonwealth citizens. Those there speak of the man glowingly.
"Johnathin would never have wished us to tolerate these murderers and deceivers. Their propaganda merely supposes that we are wrong, but provides nothing in their own defense. Nor would he have wished us to bring violence upon them with our own hands. No. But with our voices! Sign! Sign!"
And, perhaps, more interestingly, citizens begin to adorn red sashes banded across their breasts, similar to those originally designed to counteract rumors of the Thayvian Menace's return. However, they are not called merely colors.
They're referred to as Johnathin's Wounds. And they are worn with pride, as though the Thayvians themselves, and any enemy of the Commonwealth, had taken the blade to the deceased martyr of a Councilman and cut him so severely that he died from him, left bleeding and alone in the alley behind the Commonwealth Center.

Given uniform restrictions and the hassle of wearing a full sash over a breastplate, Taelar takes to wearing a red sash tied around his left arm, "the once closest to his heart" while on duty.

Instead of wearing the sash around her chest, which could be considered problematic, decides Niya to instear wear it around her head.
"I feel like going into the jungle and wetstoning my knife and building traps to fight an army out to catch me." she comments wryly to herself while admiring herself in a handheld mirror.

Sir Avadon of Wiltun is seen religiously holding one of these scarlet sashes. His grip on the sash is one of solemn reverence. If asked why he holds the sash he answers with a simple reply. "It is for personal reasons. Leohnard was a good man."

Weston looks around as he begins to hear Johnathan's name mentioned. He stops a few citizens, learning the naming of the colors, and thanking them the explanation before on his way.
Then the poster from Warrick, when Weston has chance to see it, leaves a very shallow feeling in Weston's soul.
"His spirit indeed... I've not forgotten about you, Johnathin. No. As one orphan to another, I can't let myself forget."
He talks under his breath but still audible if anyone really cared to easedrop.
"The people are guided by the legacy you left already. Is it still right? Yes, it is. I have to ensure you have the chance. Are you truely done here? That has to be known. Somehow. Can you see? All the tears that would flow from joy to see such a leader stand once more; a true hero then. As in any tale. A hero never dies."

* A Few Posters are Left in Various locations, perhaps left on a table in the Nomad Inn, or Seen blowing in the wind outside Cordor, some are placed in Kampos and others seen in the frontier, all scattered about*
People of Cordor
The act's of the past against the innocents and atrocity's performed are not something that should be forgiven lightly, I was not present at the orphanage however I feel a very personal loss myself as I do not believe in the murder of innocent live's especially that of children it is hanas and crewel, I myself do wear one of these sashes for remembrance, as I am certain many of my cabal would do the same.
But I ask you all to think of what you are doing with your boycott, did “evil” men do something terrible, yes I do not deny you this, wear innocents harmed in a terrible tragedy yes, I would not lie of this, wear these men born in Thay, wear they Thayvian, not all of the people responsible wear im afraid as I stick to my investigations work, however there wear Thayvians involved yes and it sickens me to think that these once proud and lawful Red Wizards feel to such lows as to tarnish there name and the name of Thay.
But is it not wrong to now rally against other's of that nationality, is it no prejudice to seek to hinder the efforts and path of someone of the same blood for the act's of a individual that is not related to him in any way other than blood, is it not Racist and crewel to persecute and entire race for the crimes of individuals.
The Red Wizard's hear do not seek to undermine your Trade or wish to harm the citizens of Cordor in anyway or any other city for that fact, we only seek to be given the same right that so many are granted in Cordor, the right to walk free in it's street's,.
We are not the men responsible for the terrible acts of the past, with the evidence that has been shown it is safe to say that the ruling of our band was perhaps right at the time regardless of if it was lawful or unlawful ban, but this is a new time and we are not those people you did ban.
Look into your heart's realise that you act on your feelings of the past, release that we are not to blame for the act's but are being forced to suffer for them, realise that we just want the same right that so many other's have, am I not right in saying many “unwanted” or “unloved” factions walk Cordor's street's why should we be any different, or are my robe's to red with the crimes of my kin so long ago.

*he again allows Khan to do his business on the pages*
He thinks a few silent thoughts to himself
"Attacking druids is justified how?" "Killing kids, right, EVER?" "They will soon feel the cordor peoples wrath, or my vengance" "Bastards told to stay out of cordor apparently cant listen" "Each a coward, must use brethren to stand a chance"
He shakes his head and walks on, angrily stomping, bringing another copy with him to cordor

There is no particular public reaction from the citizens of the Commonwealth to the latest in Thayvian propaganda, due almost entirely to the Thayvian Enclave's observence of Maximillian's request not to post their propaganda within the city walls. Those handful placed just outside the Commonwealth, or left at sparing random in the Nomad, are quickly rounded up and go almost entirely unseen and ungossiped about by travelling merchants.

Being shown one of these new notices found in the forest by Rikkudai, Warrick carefully muses.

These Theyvians have not broken Waukeens Golden rule and further more Mystra's edict does not say "throw spells at everything that you think may do evil because its ancestors have" if this IS what it says then I vote to have ALL drow removed from Cordor, for there kin have done far worse evils and slain many a child, yet why is it that they are allowed to remain a threat to the Commonwealth?

All of the papers that might have been taken down in cities such as Kohlingen, Bendir Dale, and well- traveled areas around each city are replaced by the same white haired woman. All comments left on notices go unanswered.

All societies have bad men and women, as well as good men and women. There is not justification for punishing those who were not involved in a crime. Unless you are suggesting by merely being of the same blood of say, a family member who commits murder, you are guilty as well. Is this how Justice works? Is this how you want our society to function? The Red Wizards did bring many great and wonderous things to our culture, did we complain when we benefitted from their goods and their economic stimulation? No, but it was only when they were hunted down, that they were forced into desperate and irrational thinking, that they did cause true horror. We all are mortal, and even were we not, we all make mistakes. All of those red wizards who were involved in the orphanage are dead, did they not pay their price with their own lives? Must this ill concieved attempt at stirring up emotions we once all shared but need to make peace with, overrule our higher wisdom? I believe in a Fair Justice System, equal punishement to the crime, in this case life for a life. With the Orphanage, life for a life was dealt on that regrettable night. Do not mistake my feelings as not caring it is quite the contrary, I value all life but in that respect I see that what has been happening with this boycott is a bloodlust, stirred on by fanatics, please see reason, please support fair justice and realize that all men and women are not bad, even if they share blood ties to those who are.

Illithira doesn't read the notice because, she's not left Forrstakkr's wilds as yet.
Elithiel doesn't see the notices either, because she's deep in the Underdark and hasn't gone to the surface in years...
The same applied to Droppi who had never been to the surface, ever. In fact, she'd be hard pressed to know where the surface even was...it is just a rumour and tales in the bar by other adventurers.
Driarry on the other hand, sees the notice, but unable to read Common, she just ignores it and keeps walking to the docks to go to the Wizards Tower by boat to pick up Patches.

-Asham Dragoran *A hooded man in blue and white clothes walks up to read the latest notice, murmuring to himself and adding a few lines with red ink* I second that. Why should the sons and daughters suffer the same becaus what their fathers and mothers did! The people of cordor should let go of their predjustices and think for themselves once. You have been swayed by the politicans and the nobles! They spread fear into your hearts to take focus off the real problems! And the -real- problem at hand is to find the ones responsible for the "Slaughter" in the orphanage!
Citicens! Think for yourselves! And do not let yourself be swayed by the propaganda of the politicans! *Signed Simon Walkaround*

"To Whom it May Concern:
The Nation-State of Thay is one that sanctions Murder, Slavery, and Terrorism to achieve its foreign policy goals. It is not the case of a "Few Bad Apples spoiling the Batch". It is a systemic pattern of hostility, part of a policy handed from the top down by the Leadership of Thay.
It is not the case that those who attacked the orphanage in the City of Cordor acted inside a Vacuum. The nation of Thay was complicit in this atrocity, and wishes that we forgive them and ignore the culpability of their leadership. This attack was done to further their agenda, and no explanation was given or reparations made. Only further Red-Wizard attacks occurred after the Orphanage.
I too, believe in a "Fair Justice System, equal punishement to the crime". In this case, however, the Crime is nothing less than one of state-sponsored terror, the Crime was an Act of War. Our due process should treat all members of this nation as the agents of war-criminals."

It is sad to see a once great nation state reduced to childish antics and baseless accusations. It is true I sympathise for the wizards that wish to make a home on Amia, just as I sympathise for all life that wishs to grow and balance with nature. It is true that in Thay itself, their society can be violent, though from what I have seen and read, that same violence has been squashed out of this group that is trying to form. Do we all not deserve a chance at life? Especially since blood spilt that was not by their own doing but at the hands of men and women now gone from existance?

A note is tacked up:
Why don't we ask the Rashemen how well Thay treats their people? I'm sure Aglarond, or the Simbul at least, would /love/ to comment.
Let me ask you this, Thayvians? There are only ELEVEN Tharchions. in a country numbering nearly five million people. Eleven. One for each region in Thay.
How is this Valkin not listed in /any/ records?

In a Direct Response to this notice:
"It is the case that I find your response incredibly disingenuous or tastelessly misinformed. A 'Red Wizard of Thay' is by definition a member of the Aristocrat-Class of Thay, a part of their political machine. The expansionist policies of this aristocracy have been thwarted before, both abroad and on this very isle. It is either incredibly naive or an audacious lie to declare that their only intention is to "...grow and balance with nature..." [sic] on this isle. There is nothing benign about their intentions, in the past or now. This has been proven by their State-Sanctioned attack on the City of Cordor. Claiming that the gentry of Thay is not responsible for the government's actions when the Aristocracy -is- the government is ludicrous.
I hope that the people that take the time to read your nonsense will see it for what it is."

At the grotesque length and bulk of the growing wall of posters, notes, and letters, Avadon is seen keeping a constant eye on the back and forth argument. Promptly throwing them away as he makes his usual rounds about the Wiltun fortress.

I am sorry to say that your argument is moot as the issue at hand is allowing these Red Wizards to walk among us on the streets freely, the same opportunity that you and I both share. These men and women are being held responsible for an offense they did not give and there is no logic or reason in that accusation. How would you feel if your people were banned from a great city of commerce merely because a handful were violent and spilled innocent blood.

"You choose not to address the actual statement I have made, and have instead dedicated your efforts to fallaciously 'attacking a straw-man'. I am sure that it would have been a categorical miscarriage of justice to exile all Mulani for the actions of the Red Wizards of Thay.
However, perhaps I should address the misinformation you spread by explaining that the difference between the Mulani and the Red Wizards: one is an ethnicity native to an eastern Faerunian region, and the other is a political affiliation hostile to the City of Cordor. The platform of this entirely -political-, and not racial entity is one of promoting and exporting Thayvian chauvinism and slavery, by the acquisition of territory and resources to this end.
There is perfect logic and reason to disallow members of a hostile political entity that has attacked the City of Cordor. It would be asinine not to. An analogous situation could be described if Winya and Cordor were at a State of War. Why should Cordor allow members of the Winyan Council access to the City, if this were the case?
Your "People" Are not banished from Cordor. The Leadership and ruling class of this tyrannical government, however, is not welcome here. You are correct in stating that this argument is moot. There will be many, many dead bodies to cross before the Red Wizards of Thay will walk freely in the streets of Cordor."
Sincerely, Vyashir Indrire

Calin's notice speaks volumes for itself, and becomes the talk of the people.
"It is exactly like Maximillian's said. They don't think we deserve to live here in Cordor, or to live our lives, because of what a handful of them have done for us in the past. They want us out of Cordor and to make it their own fortress!"
"They're paying no attention to what the hoardes of adventurers have done against us!"
"I am disappointed in the War Knights, siding with adventurers this way. They should have been fighting against the bad ones, but were they? No! We're still beset by them! We're still attacked on all sides!"
"And now a threat from the War Knights! Read the last line!"
"It just proves they're mercenary adventurers like the rest of them, and have been all along."
"Mark my words, neighbors. If something bad does happen, adventurers like this Calin Katar will say we deserved it because we never packed up our belongings and left Cordor to the adventurers. That we held onto our city out of a sense of civic pride instead of handing it over to those who have been trying to murder us in the streets for a generation! No, we cannot fight the Thayvian Menace in the same way they can, because we're not as powerful, but thanks to Maximillian, we have a voice!"
"What would Johnathin Leohnard do?"
"He would sign!"
Over the next two days, 2000 signatures are added to several sheets of paper constantly replaced by clerks from the Commonwealth Center.
And then these sheets are taken through the large double doors, which close with a grating of iron.

Posted directly on top of Calin's note is a briefly signed piece of parchment.
I pose to you this question. "Did Cordor ever want your help to begin with?" You sat there and wrote this letter to a group of people who do not give a damn about what you think. You have, like so many others, served your purpose and proven that commoners are not to trust adventurers. The same group of warriors and casters who do, time after time, come to the aid of this city to provide their services in its defense.
The people of Cordor have not forgotten who made Cordor, they have finally come to the realization that they -are- Cordor. They are sick and they are tired of the many adventurers that roam their streets. These same adventurers that can both be of aid to this city but also be one of its greatest enemies.
You claim that they only see the bad and refuse to see the good. Tell me. What would you think of a group of millionaire, armor wielding, sword toting, spell casting group of people who have more so helped destroy Cordor than sustain it through the casting of hell balls, the bombing of buildings and the murder of its peoples? These same adventurers are more worried about their own fame and prestige than actually aiding the innocents of this city. Why should they give adventurers a chance when we are so quick to dismiss their feelings?
Therein stems the root of this whole problem. Adventurers, a group I would no doubt be stereotyped within. -We- are the ignorant ones. We can act self-righteous all we want but we only have ourselves to blame for not hearing the cries of Cordor's people. We instead have gone about considering ourselves above such trivial things, ignoring the voice of the citizenry, ignoring the authority of the great city we are nothing more than -guests- of.
Do not think for a second that you can possibly comprehend the council's actions with your biased mind. No matter what you say about it and no matter your claims of corruption, they have succeeded in uniting Cordor. Their hearts bleed, like the crimson sashes on their chests, for a city that Johnathin Leohnard prayed to see united. A martyr who was no doubt slain by one of these adventurers who claim to "love and protect" this city. If you want to actually understand their hesitance to accept adventurers, try talking to the common man rather than coming to your own biased conclusions about the situation.
Your letter assumes that you know something about corruption, something about the blockage of foresight. You know nothing about what is to come. You know nothing of what has come before. None of us do. The collective adventuring class as well as the author of the previous letter have no idea what lies in the future as the sands in this chapter of history's hour glass slowly fade. I can assure you though, what happens next will shape this island anew. Rest assured, there will still be a united Cordor. This fact is not going to change.
Until then, I beseech the adventurers to cease their selfish ways. Lend an ear and words of reason to these people we share the streets with. Flooding the people with propaganda and nonsense is not the way that we will gain their trust. We must be willing to understand that they are not below us because they choose lives of labor and family in contrast to lives of adventure and danger. We are all citizens of this island we call our home. The burden, however, rests on us to reform and make ourselves presentable and acceptable in the eyes of a united Cordor. You want to change the world? Then follow the dogma of Nobanion. We are all made common by our ties in life. These ties are what connect us to one another. Show your power through gentle actions over inaction, compassion and tolerance over anger and pride. Together, as one community that chooses order over blind chaos, we can begin to rebuild the relations between citizens of this great city and her guests. Only when we begin to understand that we can make this city even greater by aiding her citizens, will we truly be able to live in harmony.

Avadon chuckles when he reads Nelene's painstakingly written words. He walks away silently musing to himself.

"Please have a normal conversation face to face with this guy instead of wasting ink and paper. I've watched you both go back and forth over the past two hours and it is ridiculous. Is there any wonder we think adventurers are like children pointing a loaded crossbow?"

*With that, she gives a sunny grin, fangs and all, and pins the note up, before bouncing (kind of) off to find pickles.*

He looks at what was last posted by Nelene as he passes by to the market hall. He scratches his head, albeit a bit confused, at having posted nothing after her or saying anything aloud. He would shrug and simply continue on his way.

Whispers and rumors of discontent begin to circulate amongst the poorer citizens of Cordor; spreading, growing and twisting as here say does along a simpletons grapevine. The discontent of Cordor's poor is given a focus in the wealth and opulence of the cities transient elite; the Adventurers.
"They's always faffin' about the town in all their gold an finery"
"Don' care a tinkers cuss than none of us eat nothin' but eel stew and maggoty bread when it's too be 'ad"
"Look at 'em! At least Maximillian has them noble citizens pay their taxes! Them useless Adventurin' drunkards don't"
"I hear one of 'em paid a million gold fer a sword! No! Tha's more gold then there is in the 'ole world innit? Bloody greedy bastards! It 'aint not right an'fair"
"Haughty mongrels havin' their 'charity' nonsense! They're jus' laughin' at us 'ard workers"
"Chairman Maximillian saved us from the Duke! He's rebuilding the South for us poor 'uns"
When asked no one is entirely sure of the origins of the rumblings, but when fueled by cheap liquor and accusations of selfish opulence they gain some momentum. The next morning small piles of books, all detailing the exploits of one hero or another, are found burnt in the South of Cordor.
Various slogans praising Chairman Maximillian and his Party whilst haranguing the self-centered decadence of Cordors rich Adventuring population are also found scrawled on walls.
The origins of these slogans and the burnt piles of books are as hazy as the memories of the booze fueled night.
