I urge you all to think about what has been done for the forest, and not what has been done to your egos or your wounded feelings. Promises were made and broken, agreements unhonored, but the forest is not a place that thrives on the feelings and personal agreements of those who live within it. Look around. See what I see:
Peace returning. Slowly, but surely.

*Elana posts a reply to Arielle*
I understand your point of view, Arielle, but try to remember that this was not only about the wolves. The wolves already slaughtered most animals in the forest. A forest cannot survive with only wolves in it. The eco system is severely damaged, much because of what the wolves did.
We did what had to be done to protect the forest as a whole, and so other animals can return, both prey-animals, and local predators.

Eldana,
I appreciate your words that are always kind, educated and show a decision that was well considered at least by you.
I cannot defend the slaughter of sixty animals, I believe that we could have acted in a more peaceful manner. I approved when Malandria told me to transport them to their lands. But, kill them all?
I honestly hope the gains from this action will help to dry the blood that now soak the soil of our forest. I honestly hope that we won't ever do such cruel act again. The slaughter of creatures, such as the wolves are difficult to forget and it marks my heart deeply.
I won't speak about this anymore, I wasn't there to vote, even though I heard the votes were the same of nothing.
Thanks for your educated response,
Arielle.

I can't say I expected that pearl of wisdom from Malandria. For she does not act upon that same reasoning and wisdom. It was the ban on wolves and hunting that started this whole mess. And now to rinse the blood away more blood has been spilled. THe duir only heals now because there is nothing really left to die to continue to sicken it. And it will heal, and life will grow, but life unnatural as can be. Life without death as before. Life that will grow until it chokes. And the cycle begins again.. a sorry state of rampant disease and death, rather than a balance of life with loss.
Do not expect anyone to stay idle and just watch what you have wrought be put into place. Just as you acted without others, others will act without you. Balance will be restored.

The cycle will begin again, and this time we will make sure it is a natural one. Balance will be restored indeed.
And I find it sickening to see everyone blame Malandria for every wrong that everyone in this forest does. She never banned wolves or hunting, and has worked to restore the imbalance that has been laying over the forest for a long time.
Whoever you are, what have -you- done to help? Besides putting the blame on others? We are all responsible for the forest's imbalance.
And now, we have given the forest a chance to recover, and a chance for a new, natural cycle of life to begin.

I have watched the wolves come in, tried to warn others about how to avoid becoming wolf prey, defended the forest against intrusion by real enemies of the forest, tried to observe the ongoings of the wolves and determine behavioral patters. I suppose you wouldn't know. I actually live outside the grove.

A roadwarden attempts to stop either Or Elana, whpever shows up next, and attempts to get him to wait there so they can talk in person, because he's really tired of watching very angry people come up, slap peices of paper on trees, leave, and come back less than an hour later and repeat the process as if they have nothing better to do than scry on a posting in order to run up and tack more paper on.
Of course, he has no real authority and no real ability to make the person stay if they don't want to so the odds of a personal talk happening are probably fairly slim...

Malandria, Nature is also not yours, mine, or any's to dictate.
You only stress why I and others have parted from the Grove, gladly done.

Somewhere in the High Forest, near the Anauroch Desert, a group of men wearing flowing red and orange robes and cowls gathers around a crackling bonfire.
A Raven lands near the circle, its feathers and plumage becoming brighter shades of orange and red, as the creature shifts into another cowled human.
"What have you seen in the west, Brother?"
The man shakes off his cloak, turning his neck as if he were still preening dusty feathers.
"A peculiar dire circumstance far to the west. The encroachment of civilized peoples has progressed rapidly beyond what can be sustained. The current interventions have caused much distress. Cooperation is unlikely."
"Is there no chance that these lands will turn from their current course?"
"There is none."
"Then the forests of this faraway 'Amia' require our services. Come, Brethren."
The men join hands, completing the circle. The figurehead chants an invocation, as the bonfire rages brighter. The men become translucent, their red and orange garments making them appear as whispy flames. The Windwalk Spell completes, and at a rapid speed, these gaseous figures take flight and head west.

Some of you seem to be missing the point. The slaughter of the wolves is not the primary issue.
The fact that the archdruidness decided to do this behind the back of the protectors, leaving in the middle of the moot before the votes were even in is.
What is the point of meeting and discussing issues among our circles if those in power will do as they please anyway? All of us are protectors. We need to work together, united, or our in fighting will bring harm to the forest.
There are many of us, with different views and ideas. Each of us ''knows'' what is best for the forest. The wolves were brought into the forest by protectors who thought they were doing the right thing for the woods. They did not discuss this with the rest, they did not ask for help... and look what it caused. The same kind of belief, that one knows better than the others, that the opinion of one is more important that the other is what caused the issue in the first place. By ignoring everyone and doing things on their own, Malandria did the same thing in essence.
Malandria's decision that night happened to turn out for the better, a fact for which I can not thank the gods enough. It did not have to be that way though. What if she was wrong? What if she will be wrong the next time she decides to take things into her own hands?
Taking of in the middle of a discussion, an important meeting, as the grove leaders have been known to do... What does it tell us if the leaders can not even hear out what those they are supposed to lead have to say? A leader needs to work with those she leads, not against them, not without them.
The archdruidness has a duty to lead, to guide her peers. By going off and doing things on her own, without as much as a word, she is not leading.
Her actions and decisions make the grove, the council, all protectors not her seem insignificant. She feels that she knows best and can protect the balance all on her own. But then why lead a grove, if those under her will only be background scenery? Why be on the council if our voice does not matter? Why be part of the grove if those in charge don't take our existence into account? ~Jabari

We tried to tell you about the damage the wolves would cause weeks ago. But no one would listen. We tried to tell you on the meeting, but no one listened. You say we do not take your oppinions into account, but you do not care for ours either. Two archdruids, myself, and a few rangers were forced to take matters into our own hands, because no one would listen. There is a reason an archdruid is an archdruid. The Duir chooses them, places it's trust in them. Why can't you?
We left the meeting because further discussions were pointless. We would not let this great threat to the forest remain, even if it meant going against the council. Our duty is to the Balance and our gods. And I rather be hated by a council than by my goddess for doing nothing.
This will be my last post on this board. I no longer see the point in trying to make you see we made the right call in going against you. My only hope is that you will see that for yourselves, if you now allow the forest to heal.

Yes, and thank you for even allowing us to express our opinions. Rampant lies and drivel. "Did what had to be done" so long as "what had to be done" was what you damned well felt like doing at the time, regardless of /consensus/, regardless of /your role/ as a member of a /group/.
Gloryhogs. You're no more protector than the average bloodthirsty adventurer. Not a one of you had the common decency to even explain what you were doing in hopes those of us who have minds of our own might see your point. This is not to say we would have, or would not have.
This issue isn't about killing the wolves, though it's a deplorable act. This issue is about all of you acting on personal impulse, without the blessings or even the /knowledge/ of the groups you call yourself family of.
I'll call for Travaren's removal from the Glade, since none else will. Let the Grove do with their traitors as they see fit.
Ania.

You and Malandria have not been seen in the forest for weeks. When Eldainia and myself meet to introduce new deer to each other, she mentioned that none has heard anything from the grove, many believed us to be a dead group, how protectors were trying to meet or at least get as much as a word out of our leaders with no luck.
After the moot people have still been wondering who the heck Eary is, as most have not seen him spend time in the forest once or at all.
You were not there to observe the changes taking place, what was being done, you had no real idea of the situation due to not being there. You appeared for the meeting, and in a few hours, dismissed the work and efforts of dozens of protectors over several weeks.
You dismissed the words of those who were actually being in the forest and doing the actual fixing, protecting it and actively aiding in it's recovery. The situation of the wolves was being seen to, actions and measures were being taken already by the protectors actively protecting.
It was mere luck that your uninformed actions had a positive effect instead of bringing forth a disaster far greater.
People would be more inclined to listen and take your words into account if you had shown active involvement in the matter up to that point.

We did what had to be done, and unless you've become blind over the last fourty eight hours - it worked exactly as planned, intended, and had nothing but a positive after effect. I'll detail the 'member of group' bit at the end of this, because it's a seperate matter.
'Gloryhogs'? That would be an individual going out for glory, and attempting to soak it all up. That's actually untrue. You'll find that, surprisingly enough, we didn't bring up the matter in a public light to glorify ourselves or demean the other party. We responded, that's all.
We also explained what we were doing, why, and made no secret of the fact during the moot. I'm not sure if I could have made it any more obvious, barring toting a sign covered in faerie fire. The explanations came before you arrived to the moot, though, so you weren't to know in your ignorance.
I even mentioned Kossuthan Cleansing when I was making my vote, in case you missed it. Kossuth is the god of fire, cleansing.. shouldn't need explanation.
Every individual who acted did so out of loyalty to something that by far supercedes the Moot, The Grove, The Glade, the Druidic Circles, and all else that is governed by mortals. We were given an obvious choice - permit the forest to be destroyed, or act and save it.
An action that, clearly, worked to full effect. If you'd prefer, we could have sat by and - instead of performing our duties - bowed down to an incorrect consensus, allowing the forest to die.
In regards to the moot - it was flawed from the beginning. Operating a diplomatic endeavour in the manner of 'most voices wins' is a flawed system in its entirety. Any person engaging in a debate, especially as confrontational as the one provided, is not going to change their view - irrespective of the points presented. If I knew the moot was simply a voting session, as opposed to a logical, rational discussion based on solid reasons - I would have invited all of the older grove members and had them simply say "I agree" to everything I said.
Creating a conglomeration of individuals known as 'Yes Men' is by no means difficult - or a feat. Even if their arguments are broken, their foundations crippled, and their reasons illogical. This was illustrated quite heavily during the moot when a reason truncated to "They're Cute" is given equal weight to other, more important reasons.
In short;
Yes, we went against the moot. And as is clearly apparent - we were right for doing so, irrespective of the social ties damaged. Nature cares not for politics, the ecosystem couldn't be bothered by petty debate, nor is it concerned about the personality conflits. We betrayed you as people, but our duties remain strong as ever.

Attempting to justify betrayal does not lessen the betrayal, it only hides it.

And succeeded.

well, since it seems a few know what is better, why would we even bother to be there next time we are called to discuss?
IF you are the only ones that know what is better for nature, if you don't have to listen to others engaged in protect nature, but with ideas that are different than yours of how to do so, why don't you declare, The Grove is a dictatorship and I Eary, thru two of Arch Druidesses rule here. So, just obey and get out of my way, you stupid people! You know nothing, I know everything!!!
If people are not important, maybe there is no reason to exist a Grove at all. In the end what it is a Grove but the gathering of people that pledge their lives to protect nature and to work for the preservation of the natural balance?
I think the three arch druidess should have come up with a plan, presented it to vote, and as in the case if their plan wasn't accepted, find out another way that would work. You are not the only ones who care and that are willing to make sacrifices, we do too.
And, honestly I am tired of blaming Malandria, when as clear as water, she wasn't alone in it, but her name has being in all accusations. There were two Arch Druidresses involved, and this ranger I know nothing about and a few others, including an elf called Ailhara that seems to get involved with the Grove when decisions are made and not after or before it. As if she was sometime of specialist that comes to clean the problems and leave as if her work as done.
I didn't know the Grove was supposed to be reigned and we were suppose to accept like lambs without opinion. I didn't know the opinion of those that disagree would be rapidly dismissed. My disappointment is blatant.

Malandria certainly was not alone, but bears blame nonetheless.
Just as the Grove is not alone in bearing the blame. We of the Glade also need to ask ourselves what went wrong, and fix it.

What makes your opinions and beliefs more correct than those of the others? Is the council's only purpose to follow the archdruids like sheep and approve of every decision, and be ignored if they don't?
Why even have a council then? What is the point of holding meetings and votes if the outcome will be ignored unless it pleases you, anyway?
What was done was done, and lucky for all of us, turned out for the better.
But the implications of how you have acted bring up some valid concerns. Is the grove a meaningless construct, meetings a sham?
If the next issue will not go as Malandria has envisioned, will those who disagree be dismissed again?
Should all of us just do as we please, ignoring the other protectors, acting with the belief that what we are doing is best for the balance? It's what brought the wolves into the forest to begin with.
We need to work together as one. If everyone will do what they believe is right and good, we will only clash, undermine the work done by each other, and bring chaos and distress.
The purpose of the grove, the council, of having leaders is so that we do not get dozens of protectors each holding their own unique beliefs and opinions about the balance, each doing their own thing with little regard for the rest.
Every one ranger and druid has the duty to protect nature and do what he thinks is best for the balance. One does not need to be an archdruid to carry out these duties. All of us have this responsibility.
There is more to being an archdruid than to act as a protector with a shiny staff. They are chosen to be leaders, teachers and guides. That is their duty, and what makes them different than the rest. Keeping the circle together, and guiding their peers along a united path towards a common goal is why they were chosen to carry the staff. Aside of the regular duties all of us share, leading, keeping order, striving towards cooperation is theirs just as much, if not more.
Malandria did not act alone. Herself, Elana, Eary and Tavaran were the ones to carry out the deed. All four take the equal share of blame. Malandria stands out because of her position. The other three are not archdruids, but she is, and should act as such. I am not aware of any others being involved. If another archdruidness was involved, all of the above applies to her as well.

Those who are able, will you come to Caraigh shrine at three marks past the candle to speak of this? Those who feel hurt or betrayed?
~E.H.G.~
*small addition pasted on with sap*
Will those who had been helping with the skinning and using of the bodies of the previous wolves, please leave word for Eldainia about doing the same for the new wolves returned to the forest? They are piling up. Thank you and Father guide.
