It means: You should have thought of what you wanted when you started.

Impossibly high standards.

I just wish a second link would be added to the front page so I could have an option of going straight to the forum index instead of being treated like a new player everytime.

Well, in that case you should read the new player instructions. Halfway the page there's an interesting bit for you as well.

Or you could, y'know, bookmark (Favorite/however) the forums with the index extension on it. :D

I prefer it a reading test. Did you actually read the page? If so, you'd know that Disco gave you the link to skip past the intro. If you didn't, then you don't know and then you should go read the page.

I just hit the link every time.

:)

I'm too lazy like that. I've memorized typing the webpage. If I went to start going by bookmark, I'd forget the URL and be doooooooomed if I ever loose my favorites folder! (I don't trust them, unless I have to. You should see all my emails of: "this is the url to suchsuchwebsite")

So.... back up your favourites folder?

http://www.backup.windowsreinstall.com/iefavs.htm

Obviously, save them on some kind of removable drive so that they will survive reformatting.

Just drag the right url on your program bar, or your quick start bar, or your browser bookmarks bar, or even on your desktop. That's a lot easier than bookmarks, favourites, typing in the address etc.

Try an online solution.
http://www.google.com/bookmarks/

If you don't like that one, I'm sure there's plenty more out there. They should be much more handy than keeping a text (email) of all your faves!

That is totally the answer I was looking for. And shame on me for posting this topic a week ago and not even reading it until now. No wonder I didn't read the whole page, I'm reluctant to even read my own topics. I hope everyone else figures this out faster than I did.

well, I do like the random pictures that you get on the welcome screen. How about: put one fluctuating random pic on the sidebar of the forum? For the old-new people.

And ramp the graphics to full with the hand pack.

Damn, why don't we re-make this whole darned topic. The welcome page is a bitch, even though I know how to get past it now, but there's a lot of cool things about the welcome page.

Why not make the purdy pictures part of the whole darned ma-jigger. What's after you do all the other extra-curricular stuff that you do.

Wrapped up: why make it annoying for new players, when you could make it less annoying for old players, and new old players, and old new players, and new new players....[answer above]

[edit:] apologies to Yurell, I changed the posts she was responding to after she wrote responses, and to everyone else because this post doesn't make any sense.

I was referring to the man in the side bar. I like the welcome page.

The Welcome Page (http://www.amiaworld.net) no longer displays a link to the forums - might be difficult for new players to actually find the place.

Edit : works on IE8 but not on Firefox 3.6.12 (last line doesn't show up)
