Force is the manifestation of Pure Magical Energy. Pure Weave Force. It's the purest of the magical "elements". You could go so far to say that Force is the Element of the Prime Material, where Flame comes from the Plane of Fire, etc etc.

Sonic is the energy of sound and amplification and related things. A bard's curse song blowing your ears out, Sonic Burst doing the same, that sort of thing.

Awesome. And just realizing that, Force being the "element" of the Prime grooves nicely with that reasoning I thought up a while back for monks turning into Outsiders: by internalizing the element of the Prime, and that element being Ki. Perhaps Ki is Force is the element of the Prime... Spooky. :D

Ki is separate from the weave. Supernatural abilities are different than Spell-Like Abilities are different than Magic. ICly you can say whatever, of cours,e but on an OOC level that's my take. Ki isn't Force Damage.

That's not every epic spell by a long shot, those are just the predeveloped ones. It's not uncommon for epic mages to want to design their own epic spells.

Aquatic Elven children are typically called Aquatic Elves.

Aquatic Elves and Water Genasi are 2 diffrent things.

Genasi are created when one parent is an outsider of a elemental type.

Aquatic Elf + Aquatic Elf = Aquatic Elf

Aquatic Elf (or any other race) + Water Outsider (I.E Triton or Marid) = Water Genasi

Although Water Genasi are often raised by aquatic creatures like Aquatic Elves

Buuut, Races of Faerun state that there are Water Genasi like creatures that are part elven/part minion of Deep Sashelas but that "these are not true Water Genasi" because they have to have a human lineage....(that is Water Genasi must have a human lineage).

But it doesn't say "what these Minions of Deep Sashelas/Aquatic Elf" mixes are called...so I'm curious if anyone knows any different?

If you're asking "Am I an Aqua Elf?"

No, you are not, because you didn't make a request and your clever loophole si not a way around it.

What the? Where did you get that idea Tormak? I'm asking a simple question, can water genasi have elven lineage or must it be human?

Read Races of Faerun, you'll see what I'm on about...p128, first paragraph for clarity.

It appears that Water Genasi (well true water genasi) must have human lineage...but that a similar form of it, exists for sea-elven lineage (but not other races) and in that case, they are also Water Genasi?

In fact, it appears that nearly ALL genasi have Human lineage, or they're not Genasi...

But here we allow all sorts of racial mixes with Outsiders...that's what I'm talking about...

Okay, clarified. I just wasn't sure if we are sticking with the strict definitions of Races of Faerun (which, for instance, would disallow hin/marid = water genasi) and all that. No problem.

I know what you're getting at, Sound. By its real definition a Genasi is a Human with Elemental blood. Other races are possible, but theyre described as being "Something else". Its the same with the dwarves and gnomes in the earth genasi section, and the halflings in the fire genasi section. I dont think they ever tell what the else is. There are no further details anywhere, far as I know, it just seems the sourcebook is giving the idea that its ok to have 'genasi' of other races. They dont go to the trouble of filling in all the blanks like they did with the suspiciously similar to tiefling Feyri, so I guess its either "Genasi", "Genasi Like", or something similar.

No. Where'd you get that from? We're years past the beginning of 3e, which was 1372, IIRC.

We're 1378, as the timeline states, but canon events only apply up to 1373. From there on, Amian history is homebrewn though probably parallel to much of the Realms that isn't stupid 4e nonsense. We're likely going to advance in approximately real-time or somewhat faster, from now on.

Of course. But he is not "very" new in the sense that he just ascended. His church has had ten years longer to get organized than Blunt thought. Bane is much younger, if you count from his resurrection, for example. So is Velsharoon, IIRC.

Is there any analog to Blackguard that is more chaos-oriented(CE, CN, CG) than evil, in terms of PnP classes? As a second question, the pact made a fiend/demon for BG, is there any precedent for other outsiders being able to make this pact?

There are many Prestige Classes devoted to specific causes and outsider lords. None that are devoted to the alignment of Chaos, as far as I know. But I don't know many PrCs.

You can make the pact with any powerful evil outsider, I reckon. Devil, demon and maybe yugoloth are the most obvious choices, as well as servants of dark deities. If you look into planar stuff, though, I'm sure you'll find other powerful creatures who could grant you powers.

That's was why I asked is there any PnP analog to BG, but the powers granted by a choatic force, morso than evil. Like if one the Slaad Lords or other power chaotic outsider was able to make a BG-esque pact with a PC. Yet to find anything like it, though.

What do you mean by that, exactly?

Cormyr is the ideal monarchy. I doubt it has much resemblance to the actual, historical France which was pretty pathetic. And there's a big difference between the eigth centurty and the thirteenth, for example.

Common has different second person pronouns for informal / formal tenses ('thou' and 'you' respectively), I was just wondering if other languages in FR do? I doubt they've been fleshed out enough to be told what they are, but I thought there may be enough info to determine if they do exist.

Re: That annoying topic in requestst where everyone thought it was funny to step in and spam.

Lycanthropy is a magical disease for which the only immunity is being a lycanthrope. Monks can contract it, palemasters can contract it, any humanoid or giant race can contract lycanthropy.

Quoting D20SRD.org on the Paladin's behalf:

Divine Health (Ex)
At 3rd level, a paladin gains immunity to all diseases, including supernatural and magical diseases.

I apologize but this would disagree unless the DMs are superceding it.

It seems somewhat unclear: on the other hand, it's said that lycanthropy spreads as a disease, and on the other, that anyone bit by a lycathrope must make a Fort save. In the SRD, that is.

I have a bit of an interesting question for you people. Well, two - but the first one is interesting, at least.

Assassins - do they necessarily have to be evil? I could imagine an assassin of Hoar, say, working to exact vengeance and poetic justice by striking swiftly and discreetly. And Hoar isn't exactly evil. Also: is a vigilante assassin still necessarily evil, or possibly neutral?

I guess my question is this: is it possible to have an assassin character on Amia who isn't evil?

And secondly: Leap of the Clouds. What is it, and who gets it in PnP?

Unfortunately, due to mechanics, yes, I beleive they do. It's really a poor rule, but, meh. Maybe DM's might allow a none-evil Assassin, maybe not. I can't really answer it, but I agree that Assassin shouldn't necessarily have to be evil, from a certain perspective. You could have a holy assassin I suppose, like of Hoar like you stated, or a Grey Guard.

Onto your second question. Leap of the Clouds is a monk ability gained at 7th level of monk in PnP.

Amiawiki wrote:

As far as how you could RP IG, not sure... other than DM events and DM just teleports you up or down somewhere.

Can find other RP abilities and info for monk here.

An assassin is evil because he kills people only for monetary gain. A "holy assassin" would not be an assassin in that sense, he has a mission based upon a divine mandate, a code, a belief, etc. Assassins kills because they get paid, and care nothing for who the victim is or what he may have done. the victim could be a brutal bandit chief, or a saintly nurse; the assassin wont care, as long as he is paid, thus he is evil.

QPR pretty much hit it on the head. Selfishness is probably a main ingredient of the PrC Assassin.

That being said, I suppose you could always RP yourself as an Assassin, even Holy Assassin by just taking a lot of Rogue and feats to up its abilities. I guess that's why Rogue is allowed to be Good aligned and even Lawful.

An assassin is, by definition:
noun 1. a murderer, esp. one who kills a politically prominent person for fanatical or monetary reasons.

If you want to get more basic, an assassin is "one who assassinates". That being said, assassination is:
verb (used with object), -nat⋅ed, -nat⋅ing. 1. to kill suddenly or secretively, esp. a politically prominent person; murder premeditatedly and treacherously.

I would say that someone can be a fanatic without being evil. And I would say that someone could get paid to kill badguys just as much as you get paid to kill good guys. Example: You get paid to kill lots of sentient creatures by NPCs as part of a quest. That would, effectively, make everyone who's performed such quests on Amia evil.

At any rate, the question was more for a DM - specifically the "Would a non-evil assassin, with justifiable roleplay, be allowed to exist on Amia?"

Here's a silly question:

For Job system jobs, would there be any sort of IC documentation one would get for certain jobs to certify that a character is of such.

*Example: Would an Engineer character be safe to say they have IC certification as an Engineer from X institution who trained them?*

Diseases spread different ways. Lycanthropy is spread via bodily fluid. Or rather, specifically saliva it looks like. I won't get into sexual contact since I firmly believe it's a moot point.

Didn't know the Paladin disease immunity clause included supernatural and magical. Most don't.

That would be a matter of individual style or taste. If you want to pretend to have IC documentation proving you know to cut gemstones to the Faerunian Jeweler's Standard (specializing in soft Kara-Turan jade derivatives) then sure, by all means.

If you just want to prove to someone you can bury a dead body according to the rites of a faithful to Finder Wyvernspur, you can pick up a corpse off the cart, carry it to an unmarked grave, and go through the process for your potential employer/person you're trying to convince, without any need for a diploma or record of job history. That's fine, too.

Paladin's does, Monks doesn't. *honestly I could have seen it either way. As well though I could see a Talonian trying to find a way to develop something that gets around the Paladin's disease resistance*

Aye, you make a DC 15 Fort. save if you're bitten by a Lycan in it's Hybred or Animal forms, but not natural form. If you fail it, you become a Lycanthrope. So it's pretty clear that it's transmitted through bodily fluids, but only while in one of it's two Lycanthrope shapes (Keep in mind that only infected Lycans have a Hybred form though. Naturals only have Animal shape).

No, Naturals have hybrid as well. They're simply in full control.

Finally, a natural lycanthrope (or an afflicted lycanthrope that has become aware of its affliction) can assume a hybrid form that is a mix of its humanoid and animal forms.

is this plausible/possible?

Could someone give me details on what is needed to construct a Shield Guardian?

You also have to be at least CL 15, the price is 120k gp and the cost is 65k gp + 4.600 XP.

All of the aove was retyped from the Monster Manual.
