Oh - With the Shifter Fix, will merged items work the same way for each form, or will the Iron Golem (Normally Armor, Items merging) also merge a weapon?

Most of the questions people are asking are actually answered in the main post. *Nod nod.*

I just sent the final version off to the testers and Terra for initial work. Hopefully we see some progress very shortly.

Trade (or in this case: Terra) secrets. Suffice it to say, monkliness is not next to godliness anymore.

Be a doll and fill in the stats for: All Wyrmlings, Harpy, Basilisk, Kobold, and Illithid, and their epic versions?

I wont lie I kind of want to see how wyrmlings could be epic and still be used in epic the cost of a push back of mino, garg and harpy.

I like the spreadhseet; also saw that the elemental and wild shapes for druid would be improved ^^. I hope that those two forms become real cool (still are without fix), can't wait for it

Dont get your hopes up for those (and dragonshape) just yet.

I just editted them in the sheet (and in the 2da) for completeness sake and a possible quicker edit later on.
If the shifter edit runs smooth in game they can probably be tackled quite easy, but for now nothing has been done on them yet afaik, which is why they are listed with their old stats (except the Golem ones which I need to check in game since wiki dont show them)

Honestly I'm not too keen on 'fixing' the wildshapes and the elemental forms much because Druids have 30 levels of spells and an incredible pet. They obviously focus less on shifting. Shifters are... I mean, well, they shift.

*raises hand* question.

did kobold lose its open lock, set trap, spot and listen?, also you said you its going to use two daggers and not just one short sword I assume the weapon merg only effects main hand.

did you change the size of epic wyrmlings, thier skills sounds neat.
Blaze Aura I assume is like fire elemental in spires and all the others are just new name and element.

looking at the stats of epic wyrmling gives me hope that our epic feat forms will get alot better stats and be a real epic feat, epic red wyrmling has the same Str and Con as Death slaad from Outsider shape right now,its kind of sad at how bad our feat forms are now but happy at how good our forms will be.

Kobold goes to one shortsword; since it s not possible to dualweild on a small shape.

Dual weild equiping is not possible due to how polymorphs are handled (cannot force equip after the polymorph; they really cannot use anything except potions ;) )

it lost those skills; yes. Set trap was useless anyways. The other ones were useful but got the go.

Wyrmlings will look the same pre and after epic. They have the same skin in the 2da. Size changing is not possible i think.
Blaze i dunno, I'll see when actual testing begins.

Epic feats seem good, yes.

hope the forms get alot of extra AB to hit stuff :)

ah so then epic kobolds weapon got tapped by the nerf bat, thought it was lowered because you had two of them on.

Befor:+6, 2d4 acid,massive criticals 2d6,poison:DEX DC 24
After:+4, 1d6Acid, Poison:STR DC24 Keen Shortsword

The current wildshape/elemental shapes are pretty lack luster. As long as we are in agreement there. I'd gladly see that pet brought into line too and that goes for rangers as well.

Will dragonshape get its breath improved to that of the shapechange version?

are you asking for them to nerf the pet to buff the shapechange? if so, just make a shapeshifter.

Umm...I just hope dragonshapes breath weapon is brought up to the standard of the shapechange version because last time I checked it was far weaker.

Even if wildshape and the elemental forms remain as they are (which I hope they dont), the pets still need to be weakened somewhat. Well, the bear, boar and direwolf anyway.

just nerf thier Resistance to bludgeoning, piercing and slashing
thats at 1st–10thCL: 5/- 11th – 20th CL: 10/- 21st – 30th CL: 15/- to be

epic wyrmling is 11shifter so thats min of level 16 total and its got 10/+3 DR so after you pass into 3+ AB mosters it does nothing epic Basilisk is 10/+5, the druids pets keeps working no matter where because its Resistance.

so I say slap them all with a DR thats like 10/+(CL/5) rounded down :)

They are strong with the buffs they get on Amia. But I think that it makes up for their not so great HP, they die so easily at times.

Unless I'm just going about putting them to use the wrong way, heh.

Its because now it can become a real sneaker:
- +3 Dex -> +2AC/AB
- double Hide / MS (with that +15 Cloak you already hit the 35 in both skills)
- one with land/mass camouflage (thats 49hide; 1 less then the max if you wear the cloak of which i forgot the name)

and a chance to do some trapping with the glyphs

The nerf to +4 is due to the fact that +5 for weapons is easy enough to come by if you are willing to party up.

Yes, kobold got nerfed from the +6 weapon to bring it more in line with the "Amian Standard". You also have way more dexterity, more hide, more move silent. Set Trap went away because you can't set traps in form. Sopt and Listen went away because you will have other forms with listen and spot (and even True Sight) for your anti-SD forms. Forms should not be a one size fits all situation. The Spot bonus was only +5 anyways so you're honestly not losing a lot.

Frankly weaponwise I thought the Kobold was too good, as well, evidenced by the fact that it along with risen lord and dragon were basically the only Bioware forms worth basing an entire build around. It got a better poison, as well.

Dual weilding didn't work for technical and scripting reasons, so yes, it went back to a single shortsword. I was disapointed too. The Drider had to be tweaked as well because of it.

The wyrmling's DR is fine for the level it is. It's still the lowest shape in the entire game. I did preserve some form of scaling. Higher shifters simple get better forms, thats all there is to it. You'd be surprised how much that 10/+3 will help.

Nerfing the pets to make the shapeshifts for druids better is counterproductive to the class idea. Indeed, as Cory said, simply make a shapehsifter.

with the kolbold maybe add a small shield +1 ac not really do much just help it not die as fast rarely.

yeah I only used wyrmling DR as a base when caster pets came up how they are damage resistance and we are reduction, because hell we had no DR on wyrmling forms at all befor so not bashing it.

item merging still not changed on all forms I assume.

that Static Field would not happen to be the D2 one would it :D

for everyone who did not play D2 Static Field was a spell that when cast Every enemy in a radius around you lose 25% of their current health.

Well I don't play druids, but why nerf? The druid itself besides the +30 spells is kind of squishy from what I've seen. Though that's comming ffrom a palemaster.

its not a nerf they nothing of thiers is geting touched, and thier pet gets some nice buffs, if I could shift into a level 30 druid pet I would.

druids get, truck load of spells to buff them, thier crazy pet and a summon, they dont need some crazy elemental form to beat shifters.

Terra's got it all covered. I would suggest having a ranged weapon held to merge with ranged weapon forms though. you'll get more mileage and it makes sense ICly, too.

We're not nerfing druids, no, simply buffing shifters.

Static Field and the related Epic Wyrmling abilities are something you'll see in game.

Not talking about being "crazy strong elemental form", just usable so that you dont die should you activate it.

But nevermind. Who cares really.

EDIT: Would it unbalance undead forms too much to give the vampire a longsword or something?

The form is better *without* a weapon. I know the stats and can assure you as such. Why do you want it to have a weapon anyways? Weapon stats will merge into creature claws.

yeah whats the point of being a vampire if your just going to use a sword.... might as well just roll a palemaster with a scimmy :D

on that note, I assume vampire has some nice vamp regen for when you OM NOM NOM on thier neck, it was missing vamp regen befor, all its bite did was like a on-hit: level drain 2 I think

Regardless, Just the concept looks cooler in my mind but either works really.
