::A black man hands out flyers around the town, He nods politely and wishes them well before handing over a flyer, it says::

Citicens of Cordor, The City on water and prosperity!

Is it not time to ensure the safety of your children and families?

For far to long, Cordor have excused the Adventuers by the claims that they bring wealth and prosperity to town.
This is true, but it only applies to a selected few!

The vermin of tiamat and her broodlings are plotting our demise, the Chromatic flight seek to start a war upon the isle, upon us all!
We all know what happened the last time in wyrmhold, and it ended in a bloodbath!! This may very well happen again!

This is the last drop!
What would happen if such a congreation of Dragonkin would exist? They would match their strenght with cordor, it is the very nature of a dragon to hoard riches, and what is not cordor... but the most wealthy city in this part of Faerun!

DracoLiches!
Green dragons!
Black dragons!
Red Dragons!
Blue Dragons!
White Dragons!

The very nature of these Dragons reek of malignant evil!

So i write to you all, let us no longer welcome them into our city.
Let us ban them from our gates and shun them from the streets of the commonwealth.

You hold in your hand a petition, i urge you to sign it and send it to the Commonwealth office.
Raise your voices! Let them be heard!

BAN THE CHROMATIC FLIGHT FROM CORDOR!

-Viktor Anderson

::On the backside is a small formula wich contains a formal request of banishment towards the followers of Tiamat, and all dragonkin who are distinguished as Chromatic. It contains a blank line where one would be able to sign his/her name on::

There is quite a bit of confusion that occurs on the first day of the notice. The citizens of the Commonwealth of Cordor do state their apprehension of these strange "chromatic dragons" and many recall the atrocities of Wyrmhold and even the ill-mentioned Flight.

But their larger question remains: "Who is Viktor Anderson? A clerk? A citizen? Someone we can trust?"

The petition goes unsigned....

...until nightfall, when under the cover of darkness, a very small handful of names find their way to it.

"Grix or Saris I wonder?"

He shrugs lightly and pads off. Shadows bending a bit as he passes with his thoughts lost in his unknown emotions

Not only does Decandiel Ceranai sign the petition, she goes one step further - making her own, public, notice.

Citizens of the Cordorian Commonwealth!

Surely you have seen within your streets the cacophony of races, those that call this place home without working for their keep, their influx of gold barely comparing to the damage done to your crops with their petty folly, the deaths of your families, and the harm done to the very people charged to keep you safe!

The Chromatic Dragons, creatures of infamy, once held dominion over this Isle from their foul bastion of cruelty and malice, known only as Wyrmhold.

Who remembers when the wings of the Flight, soaring overhead, would block the sun's own light. When their destructive, chaotic rages would burn the land in their demonstrations of power. When at times their kin, their disciples, would treat our very streets as a bed, and call us all as nothing but 'lesser mortals', as the weak, fractured, and pitiful creatures that truly hold power over this realm.

The Chromatic Dragons claimed this isle theirs, and when they attempted to bolster their claim, it was not those of Kohlingen and Imperator's Flight that worked to save us alone, no - it was the people, those who call this isle, and this City home who stood fast with them, to claim this isle for those it truly belongs to. The People! The Humanoids of Amia Isle!

And they were pushed back by our very strength, our combined might to stand up and resist, repel, and remove that which would question our very freedom, our will, and our lives for their own selfish gains! For petty gold and power, they tried to take this land from us - from all of us - and now they have seen their ruin, and seen our strength.

Yet now they threaten to do so again, from within. Their disciples, their students, their pupils now live to finish the very job their precessors would attempt. They may claim their purity, their righteousness, their 'kind hearts' - but do not be fooled by their pitiful words, for the truth of what a fabled 'Draconic Disciple' truly is shall illustrate the falsehood, the lies, and their decietful objectives to you all.

In many people, there is but a drop of Draconic blood, perhaps even in yours as the reader. Chromatic, Metallic, or even those of Gem and Metal, their bloodlines are vast and have come through our own generations. Yet it does not take a drop of blood to change us into the embodiment of our ancestors. It is not something done without choice to become a Disciple of the Dragon.

It takes the will,
It takes the determination,
It takes the strength,
And it takes the Motive to truly become one. To go to lengths to become what your ancestors once were, to become close to them, to become what they want to be. A Disciple of the Red Dragon is not a man who was cursed by the blood of his ancestors, no, he is a man who chose of his own will, of his own, malign intent to become an embodiment of such creatures! Of his own intent he chose to become a very symbol of the destructive, cruel, malicious nature of the creatures that would attempt to destroy us and all we believe in!

The disciples of Chromatic Dragons may try claim their purity, they may cry their good intent, yet do not be fooled. They have chosen, and they have worked, to become what they are by their own choice - to acquire the power, strength, and status of their draconic ancestors and become as much like them as possible.

To share in their wealth, to share in their power, to share in their strength - and to share in what a Chromatic dragon truly is. A malicious, a selfish, a destructive and combat-fuelled creature that wishes only for its own power at the expense of all others.

A Draconic Disciple is a man who chose. He chose to become as much like a brutal, murderous, and supposedly 'mighty' creature as he possibly can - and to lord it over us by presenting it proudly, and to treat us as their pets. They deserve not pity for their blood, for they chose themselves to empower it, to focus it, to allow it to become them.

And so I urge you all, Citizens of Cordor, to prove our might, our resilience, and our strength against those who would work their machinations to subdue us. We have rid the realm of those who would attempt to do us harm once, and now in unity, shall we do so again!

Do not accept these foul beasts into our city, do not sit by and watch as they come to treat us like their 'pets', do not stand by as these creatures attempt to turn our great commonwealth into a mere form of entertainment for these violent, selfish creatures.

Sign the petition put forth by Sir Anderson, and stand up for our right to freedom, our right to our own very city and our land, and to repel those who would wish to threaten what we as a people have rightly deserved.

Signed,
Decandiel Ceranai.

As always some people see enemies where there are none. What have the dragonkin of nowadays done to anyone in Cordor besides busting the city's commerce? When was the last time you saw chromatics attacking someone in Cordor or outside if not to defend themselves?

Because of rumors an entire race is being accused of selfishness, coldness, maliciousness and other disrespectful words by two of the Cordorian citizens, or supposed citizens. The Dragonkin as many other non humans visit the town of Cordor in peace for decades and I would advise any of you citizens of this city to not listen to these words without thinking when did you see one of the dragonkin acting with violence inside your city?

These two citizens want to instigate a hunt against a race, is that what generous and good citizens as you Cordorians would embrace? Is it what the Patron God of your city would embrace?

Followers of Tiamat have not done anything to deserve the urge for violence. The rumors about a flight, are only rumors. They are rumors to bring fear and violence.

Think citizens and remember, and you will see that none of the chromatics are as cruel as the gossipers want make you to believe.

Yes, I chose to improve myself, thru painful rituals of purification and become a part of an ancient and powerful race. Who doesn't want to improve? The gossiper talked as if it was a crime to want to become better. It is not a crime.

It was the best choice I made on my life. I am proud of my scales.

Xaviera, who has made no secret of the wrongs she and others have suffered at the hands of Saris Talin, studies the petition, frowning. After a long while, she walks off, jaw firmly set and expression sombre. The petition, however, remains unsigned.

For now.

If there is a main note posted/pinned up somewhere, there is an addition:

You forgot those of Shadow Dragon blood.

But the petition was not signed by this man. Perhaps the fact he signed his own note might mean he agreed with the petition.

*attached to these notes is the following*

A -member- of an ancient and powerful race? You and your kind are nothing more than pretenders. A little blood and a little ritual do not make you a dragon they make you a mixed breed, and you are no better or superior than anyone else yet all of you prattle on about your superiority. You label those of other races, mixed like you or pure, lessers, when you are no better than they are. All you heritage means is that one of your ancestors was a horny dragon. You think true dragons give a damn about your kind? You are their servants and weak pathetic slaves that aspire to greatness. You speak of murdering and collecting trophies from those you kill in our streets publicly and you wonder why we want you gone? You seek to revive a great scourge from the past and you wonder why people turn against you? You call yourself our betters when you have accomplished little of value and you wonder why the people hate your kind?

When did we see a dragon violate the law and commit violence in the Commonwealth? Saris Talin was banned for committing murder in the confines of the commonwealth. Not long ago Drak'law Emberblaze boasted of being allowed to murder someone in Cordor with only a minor reprimand because of his diplomatic immunity. Do not pretend to be innocent, you are fooling nobody.

You are blinded by your self-love, your ignorance, and your devotion to a monster of greed and violence and yet you have the bloody gall to act hurt or offended when the people of the Commonwealth and elsewhere reject you and your kind. Your blood line, and those of your friends, have a long and violent history that has brought more sorrow than good to the people of this island. There are no hasty conclusions being made here unsupported by evidence. The Chromatic Kin are murderers, thieves, and tyrants, and have shown themselves to be such by their actions on the island and abroad. It is about bloody time someone made the call to cast you ruinous pretenders to power from our streets.

*A blonde-haired knight, clad in ornate armor of gilded steel, adds his flowing, finely-penned signiature to the petition, along with a short note.*

As a Knight of the Noble Lady, I feel that it is my duty to humbly remind the government that it is the governing body's responsibility (Be the governing body a queen, a king, a duke, an emperor or a council) to protect the citizens within the borders of the nation's territory. I, for one, see absolutely nothing wrong with this proposition to remove these malignant creatures from Cordor.

Their behavior is reprehensible, consisting of acts that I have observed, including, but not limited to:

-Talk of torturing and maiming creatures perceived as 'lesser beings', as well as taking anatomical components of sentient beings as trophies to be kept with their hoards.

-Failing to respect and acknowledge the authority of Cordorian Guard officers, when addressed- Often retorting with 'clever' (By their own reckoning, surely) quips.

-A blatant disregard for the safety and well-being of other visitors within the walls of the city.

Mister Anderson and Miss Ceranai have done an excellent job of outlining the reasoning behind this petition, and I wholeheartedly support it. These Chromatic dragon-kin bring naught but malice and spite to the city. They do not contribute to the economy by hoarding their coin. They merely spit venom and vitriolic statements at all who refuse to treat them as walking divinity.

No good can come of this city and her people continuing to suffer them.

Cordor is a privilege, and privileges can be revoked.

The sun rises on the second day, and a fresh petition is hung on the Commonwealth's public notice board, overseen by an Elite Guard and a Mage Guard, respectively. They inform interested parties that 327 signatures were collected yesterday alone after the successful communications by Decandiel, a member of the Adventuring Division of the Guard, and Vanzan, whose notice appears to have influenced certain clerks to take their lunch break to sign the petition.

*Kosj'lxen reads the notice chuckling softly* Oh this is too perfect... Banned from a human city... where would they go now... Odd they would do this when many chromatics would defend the city from the likes of drow, banites and whatever else there is on amia... Funny a few rumours by a scared bunch bring all this panic... *signs her Name at the bottom "Lady Kosj'lxen"* I have no worry with no trade within this city... It is only rich because adventurers make it so... Even now they seem to lack that understanding...

*places a small notice along with the others* Come all who hold questions about the wyrmhold project... My only advise is to do so with a civil notion. You may find me at the sight itself or Cordor. I will welcome any who wish to learn. it is only fitting you see my idea for what it is... not what people fear it might be. *signed Lady Kosj'lxen*

Dear Ignorant of the facts of what means being a dragonkin,

I or any of my race am or ever will be an imposer. The ability of ignorant (clearly lessers) people like yourself to make the mistake that all dragonkin in the island has become one by the rituals of purification is so mistaken as it to say that all dragonkin are the same and that we all are here to destroy, kill, rob, or bring senseless violence. There are some among us that are true half dragons, from birth. In our very organized hierarchy, such creatures are indeed superior to us, the Kin. Above them are the true dragons, people like Lady Charming Shadowflame ant the cursed Grix, that receives from us all the respect for being the might creatures we the dragonkin so much admire.

What is not to admire in a dragon? They are creatures of incredible power, they are creatures of might strength, of superior knowledge, ancient, wise.... and I could go on forever, tell me little human who are you compared to such might creatures like the Dragons?

It is true a painful process of purification, not only by the change on our bloodline, but the magical change on our own being that we do become half dragons. The magic to do so is one of the most powerful magic existent, available to men who wants improve themselves. The fact that I can fly and you cannot, I can see the world from the skies, feel the breeze on my face gives me already an advantage to all others that can only use their legs. Having such an advantage would indeed mean, I am a superior creature in a form, am I not?

One cannot fly, the other can, which is better?

All my abilities are for real. I am not pretending to have scales, I am not pretending to have sharp fangs and long hard nails that can cut out the heart of a human without much effort. I have wings like my betters, I have the strength of my betters and I am protected by the Glory of the Great Mother Tiamat. How can anyone pretend such drastic changes?

Your understanding of what I am and what we the dragonkin are is just a proof of your ignorance.

But, then again, as human you live only sixty years and if luck eighty, one doesn't really have to time to learn in such short life.

I will live over two thousands years with my elven ancestry improved by my draconic becoming, tell me again which one is superior you living less than one hundred year or me that will see many generations of your family born and then die?

I would tell you, humans, the improvement is available for all those who are able to use magic. Even a few rituals would improve your body in strength, your mind in sharpness, your endurance, your ability to fight and to live longer years. There isn't nothing wrong on wanting to improve yourselves. I can guide you on your improvement, I can be the light on your world of darkness and all you need to do is to step up and say, I want to become a better being!

If you want to discuss theology we certainly can. And your idea of better truly blows my mind. How do Gods gain power? By worshipers prayers. By the numbers of people who follow them. As far as I know Tiamat has a larger number of worshipers than Aasterinian. Tiamat is at leveled in power with Bahamut, I can concede that (she almost erase that part and grunts, spiting as she writes the sordid name), even though in my heart she is superior to all. But, Asterinian, the hedonist? She isn't even a Goddess, but a demigoddess.

But, she is at least neutral in my eyes, living for pleasure, for games as an errant girl to Io. It is your choice, not mine. But, wife of a Bahamut's red, what does it even mean? A traitor? A chromatic embracing a metallic dragon God? This, gives me the creeps, more than any human word. This almost makes me sick.

Elrid Alloe, Tiamat's fist, and proud worshiper.

Edit: fixed the God of Dragons' name. Thanks Axl

Reading these notices and the respective replies, Vaelmith ponders a while before quietly writing a reply to these notices.

What few Chromatic Dragonkin I have seen that are able to deal in a civil environment are exceptions to the rule of thumb that they are monsters.

I know my own standards for proving civility, but I imagine if any were to be set down they would be set down by the Commonwealth's will. I have seen both sides of this arguement, and bid that the people decide. I myself believe such a ban is worthwhile, minding the option to allow those who truly prove themselves exceptions be permitted under similar guidelines to the Drow.

My own beliefs aside and cited, I support what the Commonwealth chooses and shall respect such as a guest in her walls.

*Elrid walks by and reads the petition asking the guard, how many citizens are there in Cordor and how many are necessary to conclude the vote.*

"That is the big question, ma'am. The Bureau of the Census is struggling to get a more exact number for the purposes of voting rights, citizen-motivated legislation and taxation, but the constant malingering of adventurers and non-citizen monstrosities make acquiring an accurate count of the Commonwealth's population difficult. They are, however, working diligently to reconstruct a city government that answers to the people, rather than the pursestrings of decadent noble families.

As for how many are necessary to conclude the vote, there is no hard and fast number - a public petition like this carries no legal weight, per se, but as you've seen yourself, it is the forum by which citizens and, regrettably, non-citizens have an open dialogue about important matters concerning the Commonwealth. What a petition does accomplish, however, is the common man's natural right to be heard, for his voice to effectively strongarm the leadership into listening and responding favorably to the definite wishes of the people.

Some of this propaganda you see here is blatantly incorrect," the Mage Guard continues, being surprisingly helpful. "It asserts the notion that the citizens of the Commonwealth vote to ban these chromatics out of fear. Well, it is certainly true that such cruel and inhuman creatures are to be feared, desiring little more out of us than our wealth for their hoards, and our bodies as either slaves or food. But when faced with this fear, the people of the Commonwealth may either buckle and submit to the superiority of forces that would see us live in misery - as we have in the past with the nobility, with the Duke, with adventurers and monstrous races, all of whom seek little more than to cause us trouble, or to serve themselves caring nothing for the troubles it causes us - or they may rise in one united voice and have a collective courage."

"Those citizens who sign this are actively standing up and saying that although they may be afraid, they are going to stand up, take their destiny by the hands, and fight to have things the way they want them to be. I have not signed the petition myself, as I am a man without politics. But I understand, very sincerely, why the people fear chromatic dragonkin. For all of those who may do something seemingly unselfish, there are ten times as many who cannot, by blood or by nature, respect our desire to be a free and happy people, and insist upon continuing this diatribe of supremacy, the threats of rebuilding Wyrmhold to go to war with us to claim the island, of buying children from our Orphanage only to eat them. I am sorry, I do not mean to bring up such horrible details, but these are the truths of what these chromatic dragonkin do to us, and if there are other truths, none among them are stepping up to show otherwise."

Those citizens standing around listening to the Mage Guard address immediately sign the petition, and by morning on the 3rd day, another 72 signatures appear.

Isamura read the flyer with some interest. For a while now she'd been wary of the assorted scalies gathering in the square, conversing in their own tongue. She could understand little of the language, but those 'people' presumably could speak Common if they had friendly intentions.

Finally she got to the part about what she could do, and she exclaimed, "Nice! Where do I sign?"

She turned the flyer over and spotted the blank line where her signature should go. But before she could sign and hand it in, she was accosted by a man trying to sell her cheaper house insurance, and after much wheedling and reluctant negotiation, she jumped on a gondola just to escape him. Subsequently the flyer was blown out of her hand and carried off by the wind to who knows where.

Estreia, recently returned from her travels and still appearing as if she's barely eaten as of late, spots one of these notices and smirks.

Finally. I was wondering when these people were going to be gone, collecting wings and murdering innocent little Salandrans...

Her signature is found amongst the many others, with a small note beneath it.

FROM THE SHADOWS OF TWILIGHT, LET THEIR CITY BE CONSUMED IN RAVENOUS FLAME. LET THEIR FLIGHT BE TORN DOWN BY THE WING. MAY THEIR GODDESS BE TORN ASSUNDER AND LEFT RUINED AMONGST THE FORGOTTEN PLACES OF THE WORLDS.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When Rosalinde sees the notices, she can't help but frown, touching the symbol of Tyr upon her tabard. Full-on bans such as these... often, they were justified, but they often caught innocents in the backdraft, those that actually managed to fight against their blood's calling and be productive members of society. Something must be said... So she quickly writes in a fine hand.

Citizens of Cordor, please hear me! Slake your thirst for vengeance and halt your quest for removal if but for a moment, and please read my words.

I am Rosalinde Seriah Obervan, a knight of Tyr and a Private of the Cordorian Adventure Guard. I have seen, many times, the actions of those bearing chromatic dragon blood. I know well of their crimes--I have both witnessed and attempted to bring to justice several of them. I understand well the dark threat that the chromatic dragonkin pose.

However--Though they are few, there are still a small number, a twinkling star amongst the black expanse, that are honorable, intelligent, and /good/ amongst them. Men and women that have fought against the callings of their blood and strive every day to be good, productive members of society! This banning, it calls for the complete and utter removal of those with chromatic blood.

But I ask you--what of the red dragon-kin that serves the Holy Triad of Tyr, Torm, and Ilmater with as much fervency and love as I? What of his wife, his lover, a kind soul, perhaps playful, but gentle? What of others like the red-kin Rras Rari, who has fought for the good of Amia since long before most of us even thought to come here?

There must always be exceptions. There must always be, because one cannot, I repeat, /cannot/, automatically know the soul of a man or woman simply because of their blood. I will not sign this petition until those exceptions are made clear, and protected from harm. I do this because until this is done--it is not just. It is not fair. It is not /right/.

So I ask you--listen to my words, if but for a moment, and think perhaps of those who do not deserve your hate. I ask this of you, lest we fall into actions no better then that of Sharrans, Banites, of Cyricists.

Rosalinde Seriah Obervan

Rosalinde of the Triad:
Anirikael and I understand the need for our banning. We accept it as a necessary step to keeping people like the Flight out of Cordor.

We ain't a violent pair, unless we have to be. But just let people know that while we don't do the whole needless-violence thing, nobody's got the right to attack us for who we are without facing my sword or his axe.

Cordor, do what you gotta do to keep the most people safe. That's why I signed. There's always gonna be violent dragonkin. There's always gonna be violent humans. There's always gonna be jerkwad elves and the Drow are...well...Drow.

Somebody, somewhere, has been doing a lot of talking.

361 signatures make it to the petition over the next few days. Franton himself, upon stepping outside of the Commonwealth Center for a smoke on his pipe, takes the petition inside for one hour before returning a new one, fresh with the ink just barely dried.

Weston has seen these notices, fliers, petitions, and heard people speaking about it. Finally though something has come up that prompts him to feel he should speak.
(spoken aloud)
"It had been my hope to avoid adding this to the rumor mill that swarms over these petitions of the banning of chromatic kin. But if you have heard that a Salandran has been attacked by one of their kind in senseless slaughter; then you have heard correctly.

However! It is not as a group that chromatics are attacking Salandra's faithful. It is a single man, if he can be called that- Daishar, the green-kin who has lived in Cordor for a time now.

Salandra's Temple is not under any direct threats at this time, do not be fooled. I would rather that Cordor puts basis of this choice upon the better of its own people and the safety of this grand city. Salandra's Temple has its own allies if threats become unreasonable.

Cordor, City of Water, needs to do what is best for its own people. While it is worthwhile that Cordor's people consider to judge based on the actions of this chromatic uprising against others', do not forget to examine what it may mean for Cordor in the future as well. You stand up, you are proud, but do you remember that it may invite hostilities that are real where so far they are vastly only rumored because of a select few?

I say, seek the real culprits, such as Diashar. This is not like the Banites whom unanimously agree by a faith to be wicked; but an entire race with as much variance in opionions and actions as there is between a Cordor citizen who follows Waukeen to Sharess to Lathander."

With that, Weston finds the petition and scribes these words in place of his name: "Ban the True Offenders" (written)

*notice posted next to Westons*

"Now that I have been even more personally attacked, I feel it is only right I state the facts. Yes, it is true I killed a metallic kin (who is not a citizen of cordor) in the forest, no it was not in cold blood and no I did not attack without warning. There were heated words before and instead of flying off she chose to stand her ground. I repeat, it was HER choice to stay.

I have no quarrel with any within cordor or other major cities and happily abide by the laws of the cities, this incident did not take place in a city nor is it a massive killing spree like banites or others. I already have spoken with Jud and members of the Triadic Knights about the matter and it is commonly agreed upon that such incidents will be avoided as best as possible in the future.

Just as everywhere I live, I view cordor as my home and am doing what I can to help protect the city, I will violate no laws of cordor, and show respect to the guards and listen to their wishs and commands.

On a seperate note, there has been lots of people claiming there is a new flight, this is not the truth, we are merely uniting so it will help us govern our own, to prevent incidents happening in the future. It is in -no way- a group that is organizing to harm any cordor or its inhabitants.

To the rumors circulating about Wyrmhold, it is NOT a city going to be resurected in memory of its dark past, Kosj'Ixen is wishing to make it her own city, seperate of all that history. I believe she is going to make it a city for trade and sanctuary, but you would have to speak with her for the absolute facts. Please stop trying to hunt what is not a threat."

With the arrival of the new issue of the Amian Recorder and Lomir Ayloud's premier article on the TRUTH OF CHROMATIC DRAGONKIN, several citizens of the Commonwealth line up to sign the petition.

525 signatures are counted by the end of the day.

Those who come to sign on this day may be surprised to hear the hubbub. With citizens that the mysterious "Ross-Roari" needs to be spared and should be shown mercy by Captain Yance of the Adventuring Division.

*trying to stay out of it as much as she can she reads this one notice and can't help but to tell what she knows, paraphrasing what she had already written in the keep she writes as well as any accomplished scribe can muster on a newly posted notice tacking it next to the one that caught her eye*

I have met and spoken with Kosj'lxen face to face and as any that know me, I can spot desciets and lies in the most skilled of these betrayals. On that note I would like to say that upon asking her if she planned to start a flight or do any harm in anyway to any city including Cordor even if they kicked out her kind, she replied "I signed the petition myself and no I do not plan on attacking, I just wish a peaceful place for my kind to live" I then added, "Ever?" and she said "No." So it is my whole hearted belief that she indeed speaks the truth. It's good to see that there is still open minded individuals around the isle. I too have seen a chromatic doing all he can to be a good father. So I know they are capable of becoming better and overcoming the blood that is in them.
