I was wondering how accurate the job description was. Are the items listed the only items that can be made, or just some examples of the items that can be made? More specifically, I'd like to be able to make a barrel and give it a custom name.

Don't know if you can make a barrel (probably not) but a custom name for something in the job system is the scribes job.

Look at the bottom of the job listing,
example:
Produces

• Ash Bow
• Cotton Sling
• Darkwood Bow
• Duskwood Bow
• Ironwood Bow
• Silk Sling
• Woolen Sling
• Yew Bow
for the bower.. alternatively you can look over the matrix, and click an item created with your job.

Actually... that may be a very interesting thing. A barrel that can be filled by a brewer.

I 'THINK' that list is what the job system itself directly allows for.

However: For a DC request for something similar that'd make sense, I imagine being a Carpenter would quite readily help your case. (I can't say for certain, I'm not a DM)

Or, alternatively in an event where for some reason you're doing carpentry work, a DM may also take that into account.
