Umm... the hak has been running for a month and we have been testing the stuff before it went in? There will obviously be bugs, but considering we're talking about 18500 new files I'd say we're doing pretty well.

Thanks for the new crafting options! Just wondered if invisible cloaks will be added later, since I didnt see them here.
Thanks!

Adding stuff takes scripting, and thus time. So, I guess I'll add the other stuff over the next few weeks.

I'm wondering, is there a list of what's been put in? Or will there be one? I remember seeing some things mentioned somewhere, but I don't recall it as being very detailed, or even final. I could be wrong, of course!

Maybe require a pckey update so the mirror will let you pass which can only be gotten by typing /s #### and have the 'secret password' for each hak update be given on the chicken's portrait?
That way people will be sure to get it. I could force you by simply changing the name of the hak at every update. I don't find that very user-friendly, though, and more often than not the fixes aren't making the game explode on you if you download a day later. So, the chicken routine seems to be the best of both worlds.
It's best we keep the entry-way as HAK free as possible.
People being able to log-in the server is a good way to get them to see the "you will need a hak" messages; or if they can still get in game, they should be able to see a lot of the non-HAK defaults of NWN toolset to get an idea of the environment. Basicly everyone will start in Cordor; which is made up of non-HAK tilesets.
The current system is excellent. Some representation but enough motivation to HAK download for the full perks!

I still think it is a little early to determine how the hak will or will not affect the server in the long term. As shown new players are down and new players for long term will be needed when some old players start to retire from NWN all together. So far it looks good and I hope it remains that way, only time will tell.
As far as Amia Bs sudden population increase, I would have to say that is caused by the transfer of Amia As UD over to Amia B. Its sharp increase coincides allot with the pre to post closing down of Ultrinnan.
A great question was brought up, can you tell if the new players are actually new or if they are just alts on a different account? Or did I miss the answer to that?

It is all the clothing options. Well, I don't count cloaks as clothing. I need to add:
* helmets
* shields
* cloaks
* weapons (I am not sure if this is gonna work, though, so I may opt to put some weapon variants in a shop instead of the crafting menu)

The skirt option doesn't seem available from robes.
This is a travesty.
..It also prevents maid's outfits from being made.
..I change my mind. It okay that it was left out.

That one looks good ... I've seen it on another server. When yo make the apron white and the rest of it brown you look like a stereotyped peasant.

Hey Disco, know your in the process of adding content. But for the currently implemented Forearms and Shins, are the feet and hand equilvents of the set meant to be missing? Such as the chainmail with the metal bracers, there is no equilivent red chainmail feet part using the same colour scheme. The closest you can get is a chainmail one that uses a different scheme of colours?
So like, Chaimail Metal 1 and shinguard Metal 2 for the shin in that order, then metal 2 for the chainmail and metal 1 on the toe tip for the foot. Meaning you get a mix matched armor set instead of a steady stream. Limiting exactly how much can be done with the armor without making it look like some horrible rainbow garish thing.
Also the Hue of the colours on the feet/hand pieces are very different to the hue on the new shin/forearm pieces, meaning you can't really mix and match the sets with old stuff without it looking very odd.
Also I forget if the ability to change the colour of your weapon and sheild was added to the hak or not. Was it?

I did pay attention to matching upper/lower arm pieces and matching thighs/shins but not between legs and arms.
There's no shield colour option. Didn't even know it exists.
Most weapons come in the usual 4 colour variations.

The most well kept secret of the Forgotten Realms is, that dwarves and elves are really of the same race. They're just bred separately, living in an illusion that both tribes have more than one gender. Ao's kind of humour.

Quote: Goblins and Elves: A common ancestor? (355) Job: Archeologist Converter: Researcher's Desk Category: Book Price: 1832 GP
A rather intriguing thesis based on a study of recently excavated bones. Curiously, the research seems to suggest simularities in bone structure between this creature, elves, and goblins. The included illustrations- complete with footnotes, side-by-side drawings for reader comparison, and explanations- seems plausible, but you're not quite convinced... [Burningoutbright, 30 Jul 2009]

Gits.
And I will just recite my arguments from my last discussion with Kjetta.
Quote: Some are content with being fishmongers or goat cheese eaters. Content with a life locked the iron cage of rationalism. Unwilling and indeed utterly unable to ever breach the grey surface of the everyday life. Empty shells set on enforcing mediocracy on all and murdering the very spirit of individualism.
Yet some resist this bleak prospect of nothingness, rising against the tide of opressing medoiocracy. Some will not accept being forced into dreadfully boring conformity and choose to think, to belive, to act in the towards something better.
These valiant beings strives for the very top, the stars are not enough. Perfection is a goal to be achived not to be given up upon. Giving up yields nothing but a bleak empty feeling while reaching for the high heavens yields the very essence of perfection. Success. Those with ambitions, dreams and hopes for a better world indeed choose to reach higher and reach for the perfect beings. In fantasy elves are the very pinnacle of this idelogy of optimism, perfection and innovation. To achive great deeds it takes a the will to actually act and reach for the dream of perfection that are the elves.
And again some are content to settle down in windy sheds on desolate rocks eating dried fish. Caught in their feelings of inadequacy
Elf power!

Okay, that didn’t make a valid point because a) it implied those making elves are irrational, b) considered humans devoid of originality and c) said elves are the epitome of perfection.
Ahem.
First off, elves are just better because they can be older than your great-great-great-grandma and have all that extra experience and potential to flash in your humanly faces. This of course gets wasted because foolish little humans are playing them, no matter how better equipped their cognitive reaches are to imagine the complexity of the feeling of having another 500 years to perfect that swordplay or make new mansions out of fluffy bushes.
Secondly, it’s not elves that are the pinnacle of perfection and wonderfulness, that rightful spot needs to be left for the dragons and I’m not talking about those silly Chromatics, they’re below standard.
And thirdly, it doesn’t take will to rise up to the standard of elven uniqueness, it takes a wee bit more insanity, the kind that makes you believe you’re the Queen of England.
So let’s all have a tea party and bring out the fresh gems!

Because Asian people invented such foods as chicken and sweet corn soup, Honey chicken, and sweet and sour crispy chicken.
Also, pretty sure that elves = Asari.

Mind that I haven't got anything against Asia or Asians. I'd be as horrified to see rapiers in a world that's loosely based on Asian history as I loathe to see kimonos in one that based on European history (which I file our server under). I won't actively go against it, but I am not going to support it either.

Yups, Amia is Faerun flavored, which means classical medieval. Chaarcters can come over from Kara-Tur but they'll have to adapt to a culture that doesn't wear wood sandals and kimonos.

Can we compromise with one or two little tilesets or a single Shinto Shrinesque thing? Not the whole continent but maybe a few ideas that could be made with easily available European materials?
I agree that the Forbidden Palce should stay forbiden... but it feels a little restrictive to shut the door utterly. 'Realistically' a powerful mage could just open a portal and shove a bonzai factory through if they wanted.
