Do this:
It does nothing but disrupt gameplay and ruin someone's hunting trip. If I catch you doing it, you're being reported directly to a DM.

Forgive me for noting this but are you sure that isn't a DM's deployment of such as part of an event?
It's likely not but still?

What an arse of a thing to do. I think you're supposed to P that to a DM anyway, rather than post it up, though.

It's likely not but still? Not likely considering there's no DM on and I don't see a DM using such poor placement, forgetting to clean up after themselves, or blocking off a frequently-traveled path like that without good notice either.
As for the PM'g it, no not really considering it's not a specific incident related to a single player as I didn't get the identity of the culprit. This is a message to whoever did it -not- to do it again.

This is exactly why those should be bashable and should have a 'placed by' label on them on examine.

They should give you the name of the 'author' if it's job system, I think. The piece of timber above them makes me suspect DM involvement, though. As far as I know that's not in any widget form available.

....Wouldn't a large boulder PLC or a rock slide PLC have been more appropriate then? The odd ball wonky placement is what makes me not suspect a DM. Looks widget like.

The timber is in the wall itself above the floor and has always been there, as far as I know. You can see where it's connected like a beam from one side to the other right at the upper slant in the walls. It doesn't impede movement at all.

Aren't the beams of wood there anyway? If you have a look at the top of the screeny you can see another.

They are. Those "fallen logs", as they are known by in the toolset, have always been part of the area design.
The placeables put into the hallway are drow tables. Probably something purchasable in the stores, and not job system stuff.
Blocking entry ways into hunting areas suddenly turned into common practice a while back, when people got overly protective of their hunting grounds.
It was frowned upon then, and it's frowned upon now.

THEY HAVE DONE IT AGAIN, I just went there 15 mins before this post. This time they left a placable board in the middle of them placed by Crimson Arcanist Maugrim.
This time on the same level as above but further along the passage just after the Web traps on the bridge before you go down to the second lvl of the fire giant layer.
(How do you post screen shots? This site is arkward for this. I shouldn't have to have a web site just for pictures so i can link them here but i have a screenshot of the EXACT SAME PLACABLES but in a different position again).

Do not post names. I strongly suggest you remove it.

Edit: That person made the items. He wasn't the one who placed them. I just talked to the one who did (not revealing names), and said person says that they okayed it with a DM.

i did it, i maid the items and i already posted in the jobs system that it can be clicked on and i was told it don't matter as AOE can be used, valkin is often hunted to he conjures items to block the path to ensure he is not followed, i have stopped 2x dancers doing this ICLY, if that makes me an asshole then i guess i am, but id prefer not to gang killed when i can buy enough time to finish the area and leave.

Thanks.
In truth you shouldn't do it at all. It's using game mechanics to block IC behaviour.

I believe his point is the character should be able to destroy / move around them, but can't due to a mechanical issue.

FYI this would not stop a dancer with the Shadowjump from following him. If you were not followed then they didn't have it or were not interested enough.

Fair enough, but then couldn't characters climb over your placeables? Or are they like, " omg an altar is blocking us...guess we have to turn back now"
I doubt it....

If someone is in an area first, and you kill, stab, maim, dance past, trip, bonk on head etc and run past them in that area, it's a nono.
This about how exploitable that would be. A lower level is desperatly making his way through the spires with a party. Suddenly, an ECL 30 ubermage confronts them from behind!! Ubermage is mean...he's evil...and he wants some awesome epics. So he baits the party, says a few words, PVP...next thing you know he's skipping down into the depths to the giant king giggling about how nice it was that you cleared his path first.

Isn't that realistic though? How is that different than someone doing it out in the open, say, just outside of Cordor? Why is it acceptable in a field but not in a dungeon?
(just playing devil's advocate here)

You have to give it leeway in a dungeon for reasons stated above. You don't kill someone in a field and then run to a boss for a chance at an epic. Some things need suspense of disbelief.

I can certainly understand that example, because ganking someone to take their area should not be allowed, period.
But what if you come upon someone's corpse, someone you would never ICly raise? How long should that person be allowed to lie there dead and prevent others from hunting in the area?
That part doesn't quite seem reasonable to me. If you're actively hunting, fine. If you're lying around hoping for a courtesy raise, then meh.

I'd say if it's not someone you would ICly raise, pop them an OOC raise and get their ok to continue on. That way, your butt's covered, they got their raise, everyone's happy.
Yeah, it's more OOC than we like, but it keeps things flowing smoothly and two happy players is better than no happy players.

Well, if you're a gentleman and a scholar, you'd have OOC raised them after PVP..leaving them to be miraculously recovered. I'd like to see -everyone- follow this example after PVP. I understand it doesn't always happen though.
Or, you yourself can OOC raise them...since your character would not do it ICly...assume there's naught but death ahead of you and come back later when the corpses are sufficiently disposed of.
Basically, and I hate to be a bear here, it's entirely too exploitable and griefy to become OK in any circumstance.

I see that a bit, too. It's kinda a pain.

I don't mind being blocked from continuing if someone else is already there. However, in a situation like this, I'd say once you're on the next level of the dungeon, you should dismiss your blockade or whatever so the next group/person/whatever can do the area behind you.
As far as the dead/afk/other stuff goes, I'd say use common OOC courtesy. If someone else is already there, and you know it, OOCly ask them if they plan on continuing or leaving or what. After they've had their one run through and you're next in line, have at it.
If they don't reply or ignore you or whatever, screenie yourself asking and use best judgment. It's not hard to figure out what to do in almost every situation. But the thing I don't like is how those placeables do -not- disappear unless destroyed, desummoned, or a server reset. Definitely should be bash-able. I understand that's a bit of work to throw on Disco's shoulders (or maybe not - idk).
Up to this point though, I thought I was dealing mostly with fairly mature players that wouldn't resort to childish tactics as far as abusing game mechanics to block others from enjoying a hunting ground. If someone comes upon you in a hunting ground, deal with it ICly. Don't use PnP spells such as "summoning" placeables especially without DM or player consent.

Prove it lally! Here's a few(Off topic one)
Why doesn't glue stick to the inside of the bottle Would a fly without wings be called a walk? If a book about failures doesn't sell, is it a success? When it rains, why don't sheep shrink? What do you do when you see an endangered animal that eats only endangered plants? If you're cross-eyed and have dyslexia can you read all right? If a turtle doesn't have a shell, is he homeless or naked?
