Google for torrents if you're so inclined. It should be pretty easy, there are huge torrents with a bunch of books floating around. You probably won't find many single books hosted individually, but you don't have to download everything in a torrent anyway.
You probably can't buy the PDFs anymore, because Wizards pulled their stuff from several online stores. If they put them back, I don't know or care. The damage is already done and they can suck it up.

I can't remember what book it's in: I think it's the 3.5 Manual of the planes but regarding Pure Elemental Water, is it something that can be obtained alchemically or does one have to use planar travel to get there?

Quote: Create Water Conjuration (Creation) [Water] Level: Clr 0, Drd 0, Pal 1 Components: V, S Casting Time: 1 standard action Range: Close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels) Effect: Up to 2 gallons of water/level Duration: Instantaneous Saving Throw: None Spell Resistance: No
This spell generates wholesome, drinkable water, just like clean rain water. Water can be created in an area as small as will actually contain the liquid, or in an area three times as large—possibly creating a downpour or filling many small receptacles.
Note: Conjuration spells can’t create substances or objects within a creature. Water weighs about 8 pounds per gallon. One cubic foot of water contains roughly 8 gallons and weighs about 60 pounds. No.

That said I think you are exaggerating the entire concept. Water is water, dirt is dirt, fire is fire and air is, generally speaking, air. Ther emight be some mystic quality about the plane or the fountain itself but generally speaking drinking a glass of water on the plane o water and a glass of water on the prime are the same thing.

I thought they may be different through something like transmogrification (not sure if that's the right word)? Sort of like in the Eucharist the essence of the bread and wine are replaced with that of the flesh and blood of Jesus (presuming I understand that correctly).

I know it's in Manual of the Planes' 3.5 version as an item.
Unfortunately, me not having the book I can't quite look it up for certain.

Transubstantiation, Yurell. In catholicism, at least. That's the doctrine concerned with substances or essences, based on Aristotle. Other churches have different doctrines, of course.

Cheers Iron. It's the only way I can think of for there to be a special 'magic' behind elemental water and not normal water with no chemical difference.

I'd guess elements from the elemental planes are simply more pure. But if you bring it to the prime, it's not really all that different anymore 'cause it's in contact with everything else like anything else. In other words, purified water contained somewhere on the prime is probably exactly the same to the water in the elemental plane of water. I doubt there's much "magic" behind it. Besides the actual elemental's themselves, anyway. That's just my take on it though. I don't think they go into that kind of detail in any book. Could be wrong though.

Yep, in fact, Merzo is ruled by "six paladin-like Chosen" of Ubtao , and a group of undying beings called Baras. I forget what book that is from, but it's not at all unimagineable for a Chultan paladin to exist.
Edit: had my lore a little wrong.

Can anyone help me find some info on gthe Ship of the Gods, that island that decided to go "kaboom" a few years ago ICly? All I can find is a tiny blurb about how the upper half exploded due to a volcanic eruption and that there's rumors of treasure, but little else.

Cool, I didn't think my sarcasm about gold/lead would generate so much reaction. I'm surprised no one mentioned that that is where alchemy began. (from people trying to get gold from lead)

Do we use both the Great Wheel and Great Tree cosmology, or just one or the other? I know that the latter is FR, while the former is Greyhawk, but I seem to remember a discussion a while ago that employed mention of Sigil.

A mix of both. For example, the House of the Triad is located within the Seven Mounting Heavens of Celestia, and Brightwater, the CG plane, is located in or around Arborea, the Wheel Cosmology CG plane, "spacially". Kelemvor's City of the Fugue would be a destination unto itself and tied to no place in particular.

Lords of Madness for the latter. I don't believe Rakshasa have been covered in any intense sourcebook. I believe the most you'll get is the Monster Manual. Manuals II and III also have additional variant rakshasa based around being Necromancers and Shadowdancers and loo klike White Tigers and Panthers.

In PnP Monk has abilities such as:
Slow Fall Abundant Step Timeless Body Tongue of the Sun and Moon
They are abilities (exept Abudant Step) that are taking no mechanical things and can be RPed. I'm wandering are they forbidden on Amia or here applies there unwritten rule of agreement between players like for some PnP spells.
EDIT: This could be some very nice addition to RP. PCs to teach PCs, like in case of flying, shadowjump and similar.

They're PnP abilities, so they're subject to the rule of mutual agreement. It's not an unwritten rule, though, as you suggest. It's very much posted in R&L (unless it's disappeared in some move).

PnP abilities that does not exist in NwN requires concent from all players involve. So sure, if everyone affected agrees to it, you can use Tounge of Sun and Moon. About abundant step I am unsure, as I think it has been stated that there will be no more classes/peole recieving teleport abilities aside from those who already have it, like the Shadowdancer's Shadow Jump.

For the abundant yeah, i thought so. Monk is fast enough anyway. Concerning the Tounge of Sun and Moon, imho i'd rather see it RPed and given as bonus ability than buggning players every time you want to join the conversation in foreign language. Just a suggestion though.

Never really understood that either, just as I don't see why Barbarians can't be lawful given the fact that the stereotype 'Honourable Warrior' is very lawfull as far as I see it.
I suppose its because they want to depict the Bard as always moving, always changing, always creative type of character maybe?

Paladin: A class often argued over, perhaps more than any other lass in DnD history, for being too stiff, rigid, not properly representative of the single alignment it has, a polarizing change towards the concept of LG in general and indeed the ruining of the alignment, the idea that only Good Guys have holy champions, etc etc
"WotC was dumb enoguh to make Paladins that way, and so it's ot surprising that Bards aren't Lawful as well."
The IC explanation I believe is that an ordered, rigid life and soul breaks the Wanderer's Way. The bard is expected to live a carefree nomadic life of wine, women, and song, going here and there and everywhere to expand his repertoire.
I like my explanation better though, which is: "They didn't want you to multiclass it with monk or paladin." It gets funnier when you realize Complete Divine has bard/paladin feats.
