We(8 of us) recently joined this world, and seem to be out of the loop on the things, as far as events go. I noticed some times amia A is nearly full and B will have like 20, and other times B will be full and A will have like 20, is this due to event going on? We all came back to neverwinter from ddo, primarily to get the pnp feel, as well as for the live dms, so any suggestions on keeping up and not missing out? Is there a difference quest and monster wise as far as what level char should be on each server? Any recomendations to get the most out of amia would be very helpfull.

Factions are one of the main sources for RP, and info on important goin ons. Really anyone can find a faction that their character could relate with, some more particular than others of course.

There are of course different zones of difficulty on each server, a lot of people swear on the leveling curve on A while others prefer B with the Quests it offers.

On A there is a beginner quest you can do to get to know the city, and a level up as well, preparing you easily for the further adventures.

B does not offer an easy quest, but instead it offers several medium to tough quests that should best be done in a group.

You can of course always switch between the servers if one place is to tough.

eithercase, welcome to the server!

Contrary to common belief, B is a very good place to start. You get quests right away that can take you to atleast level 5-6. Most of them you will need a buddy or two for, but the rewards are good too. Not to mention that the areas are beautiful.

B is awesome. I spend most of my time there.

A or B, its all Amia. Though we have had this discussion before.

With regards to the OP, hello and welcome, nice to have you with us. Pull up a stool and settle down to have some fun.

A lot can depend on the timezones your all in. Different aspects and parts of amia tend to be more active at certain times of the day than others. These things tend to be rather cyclical.

Well the fact that I both dislike Cordor and am banned from there might have something to do with my preferrence of B. :)

Travel between the two is quick and easy, so there's no reason not to go between them regularly. If you make use of both server's hunting areas and quests, you won't have to grind the same area twice until very high levels.

Players between each server is mostly a faction and timezone thing. B tends to b more full during the European hours, whereas the US prime time tends to see a fuller A. There's no major difference really, it's all the same world and you'll find the same things (relatively speaking) across both servers. A tends to be the island of Amia itself and the immediat environs, whereas B is a few scattered areas of the mainland, as well as a few other islands around Amia.

Sometimes it has to do with DM Events, sometimes it just has to do with the playerbase crowding around an area they think has a lot of action going on (with just players)!

Either way, they both rock. Best ways to get wind of events/gatherings is to keep your eyes peeled on the forums and your ears twitching ICly for the rumors!

Amia is not like pnp per say in that DM guiding the PC, sure the DM run events an assist players with requestes and rp development of factions and personal character development, but they dont hand hold.

Best thing to do TBH is to make a character concept up just like pnp maybe even TN so you can go either way then just get out there,

it will take time to understand whats going in as amia is like a "min" world little rp interactions taking place all over the place, little dm events little player setup events, all the way up to RP and development spanning years of work an development.

it takes time and perseverance to find what you were after, but its one hell of a ride there.

read up the amia lore and some of the threads it can help you come up with a concept that fits in with the current affairs of amia or the past affairs an if you want anything special just send a friendly dm a request or put one up in the forums request section but be sure to get a feel for amia and outline said request well.

feel free to pm me if you want to ask any specific QU that are of an OCC level, :P

an if you ask me (an i am bias) you should all create necromancers and come live in the city of Tarkuul, :)

I've been on the server five years and I've never been in the loop. (A side effect from being Australian and having a low opinion of the DMs)

Doesn't stop me from doing what I like doing though.

Noobs!

This is an RP server, and there are people standing around when you walk outside of the temple. Break the ice! Start up some RP on how you are new in town and ask what you want to know.

Janna has been wanting to implement an idea for some time now...

to be honest, check forums for events but best way to get involved is to be INGAME and stay away from the leveling areas, dms rarely host events where people grind. get in there, say hello to people, and dont cock off and youll make friends. strange things happen all the time, youll find something to do. and if all else fails, make a goblin.

and if you want to do anything in the underdark, go to B!

it seems to be drow driven, but feel free to make a non drow underdarker if it ever tickles your fancy. there will me many people happy to see that happen.
