Very much agreed.

You know what. I haven't seen one of those in the last 2 years. So its kinda not applicable anymore if you ask me.

I haven't been to Cordor in the last 2 years so I would not know. :)

I've seen some lesbian relationship drama script played out in front of Winya some time ago, so yes it does not get out of fashion apparently.

How could lesbians ever go out of style...?

And the problem with those is making a group of PC Lesbian hunters would... just look very bad.

Anyways, I'm getting PMs about if I'm actually making a group of Dragonslayers. I'll say this.. A few friends and I intend to roll up 'Dragonslayers,' yes. Hopefully well make the term less cliche'. Mostly Rangers with Favored Enemy: Dragon at the moment. I don't know how serious it will take at all. I'm not actively 'recruiting' for this group. I'd rather keep it tight and personal instead of a silly, sprawling faction, actually. But I won't completely turn you away either if you're the quality sort of role-player with an interest in this concept.

Edit: Though of course I won't bar you from making one anyways. Hardly my right to do so.

I've yet to see a pair of gay MALE Pc's around... Very strange...

@ Rosencrantz - Thanks for the tip! No ranger is complete without favoured Enemy: "Rras!"

*Avoids the question*

@ Topic - But hey, If people think there's to many dragons, they have to take IC Actions. For whining about it OCCly ain't going to push You/me/us far. Sure, we could start a flame-war and stuff, but it'll just spiral down into mish-mash...

Best solution so far - Start a Dragon-Hunting band!

A band of dragonslayers sounds interesting. However I also think that we should form a band of lesbian hunters and eradicate all lesbians from Amia. Who is with me?

You mean, More gay men for the people? If you are with me on this, Im with you on that!

But yes, A Band of Dragonslayers sounds -VERY- Interesting.. Considering this is .."Dungeons and DRAGONS". A gang of adventurers banding up by their mutual desire to become famous dragon-slayers and plunder the hordes of dragons...

God. A Concept has been born! Dragonslayers AND Lesbian hunters!

I've seen about... four gay men in my time here. More lesbians than gay men, but why's it matter? Just shows that us gay men are harder to conceptualize and play out in a successful way, obviously.

On the whole I see a distinct lack of respect for your fellow players from a few people here, its kinda shameful that some people can't bite their own tongue about their opinions of others. Grow up. The main idea of starting this thread: about a band of dragonslayers possibly being made.

I think this is an interesting idea. As for the ranger favored enemy of dragon, it would not get any extra benefits from the several RDDs who do not hit the Dragon Apothesis at RDD level 10, -if- they gain the subtype of Dragon at that time.

Other than that, go Dwagin.

Favored Enemy: Human and Elf should cover most of the RDDs, anyway. And you can still grab a bunch of useful PvM FEs.

Very true. Thanks for remembering to point this out. ^^

Yes, humans, elves, and a few orc-bloods seem to primarily go into the RDD class.

I think this topic is pretty done.

There's always gonna be lots of RDD PC's on amia, mainly because it's quite interesting to play the Dragon concept, and due to all the juicy add-ons you can get for your PC. It's Dungeons and dragons after-all.

If somebody want to thin the numbers of Dragon PC's or RDD's, we've agreed that it's not gonna help by making topics like these, It's much easier if you attempt to do it in game, hence the Dragon-slaying band ...Bizarre thingy...
Originally a good idea, But well ... Forum lurkers (Like myself) Enjoy corrupting stuff.

That's right up there with, "I'm all-knowing and wise!" "... You have a wisdom of 8. You're lucky if you can remember to tie your own shoe."

But, I digress.

I seem to recall something like a dragonslaying band-thing being brought up aeons ago, but I don't remember anything coming from it. Maybe better luck this time?

Just throwing this out there;

Dragonslaying band? Bit late. I've seen one going on for the past month. :D

I think they're Aussies, though. It's a group of 9 people who migrated from another server. They don't hit the forums much.

Been playing my half red dragonkin on and off for a couple of years I think. Not really sure how long, but since the time I made her, characters like Saris were the first to arrive. There were still those old-timers around that were still full dragons like Wolf and Charming. After they left, I think Rras-Rrari was one of the half-blooded ones that was left. After that, loads were coming in by the dozen, most of which quarter or just disciples.

I got kind of bored with it, eventhough Elrein is my most liked character. No one ever really speaks to dragonkin, most of it are just bickering over racial status and what-not. She can't get involved with anything unless it's stupid personal drama like having mates or having babies. I don't see any point in PvPing, because you either die or live, life of the character goes on. Dragonkin can hardly start any faction because of the amount of goodie-two-shoes around. They couldn't even lay one brick or it'd be destroyed. Unless it's done in super secrecy and even that seems impossible to do because dragonkin these days are scattered. Getting most of them into the loop will take weeks and most of the time they'll come asking you how the progress is. In reply I could only say the typical things over and over.

To be frank, I'm quite done with the dragonkin part, since it's not even unique anymore, others ridicule them with OOC tendancies. I have the feeling that some react to them on an OOC level as they were to see some Goth kids at the back of the school as you see on SouthPark. I tried my best to play one, but the RP just isn't there.

I know others would say, create your own RP, it doesn't have to include the things I mentioned. To them I say, give me couple examples? Maybe if I get some steady RP going I might have the motivation to keep sticking around with a character. It was probably the timing of making my character at the time; since B was just in developement and there was no space for a new faction. I dunno..

I've got no issues with dragons or kobolds or what not. Just so long as the player knows that they're playing a monstrous race.
I just find it awkward and strange whenever every monstrous race I meet goes "hello!".
Half of the reason is partly due to the dm's stance I suppose but I'll love to bum into blood thirsty orcs outside of town.
Amia feels so... Safe.

Saris was indeed born a human and through the rituals of the Dragon Disciple, became more and more draconic. He just wasn't satisfied with being only essentially half.

To be completely honest, that is exactly why I do it when playing Ascalon. The goal being to catch the adventurer off guard and quickly control the direction of conversation away from what can quickly become "heh, Kobolds... I smell 1d4 HD and loot". I think of it as lesson 1 in kobold PC survival 101... Be kind to the silly "ijol" until you have a trap set and can walk them straight into it without them suspecting it was you. Granted, I have only achieved this twice.

You don't have to be intelligent or wise on Amia to seem like a prophet or a genius. You just need to have common sense.
It's lacking in so many characters on Amia that someone with it seems like they are gifted with max stats or something.

Common sense varies between persons / Nationalities / Age / etcetcetc. It's just not a viable argument anymore.
But i can agree that most of the PC's around ... Do not act according to the Stats they have.

Despite what you may believe, Even tho i Min-Max a lot of my characters, I Rp the price of that... They're not the most charming person, they're not the most elegant speaker, they become bland characters that attempt to make their way into the story their own way.

So, I agree and disagree with you, Selvec...

I don't agree with your "most don't role-play stats accordingly", I believe it's an even split, if not more people role-playing their stats correctly, doing their best to manifest according to stats. You may fail occasionally, in some rushed instances, because honestly, it's not as easy as it sounds when you have to produce reactions on the spot, especially when you have a background of laid back, slow, premissive time-wise role-playing.

Gagi: C'mmon, we know you dislike Cordor, but you're insulting a lot of people that put in a lot of work into that place. DMs, Guard PCs, people who run taverns/merchants there, numerous other things. You've not been there in years, so why make derrogatory comments about something you have no idea what it is like anymore?

On the whole I see a distinct lack of respect for your fellow players from a few people here, its kinda shameful that some people can't bite their own tongue about their opinions of others. Grow up. Not everyone's as skilled at RP or informed, as others. Instead of pointing and snickering and insulting, why don't you try to do something positive?

I dunno..

I was actually just going to point out I'd forgotten about Elrein. I tend to agree with what you're saying, but I think it's even worse on the Chromatics because they're simply so hated (as far as OOC ridicule). However, it's no better for the Metallics in that regard. There's so many DDs running around that half of them aren't seen as even being remotely close to what their alignment/color is.

There's a lot of us, but dragon(kin) RP is hard. It's the worst for the few PC dragons out there, I think. Every person I've talked to that has/had one has said it's a lot harder to play them than expected/compared to other characters because of how tightly you have to keep to the RP of whatever color it is.

Kobolds now work off the halfling model + kobold head.

Not 100% sure, but I understood you just create a halfling and then ask for your head to be changed to kobold. If you look at halfling heads, a few of them are kobold heads.

Edit: Or it gets reskinned into a halfling, I honestly can't remeber exactly.

I suppose people don't have problems with RDD per se (unless you ask Uce for build advice with RDD in it), but those who have big breasts, giggle and do other stupid stuff. Those few ruin the quality RP for the others who put effort into it. Same can be said of many diffrent other races and classes, but RDD get extra flak for the cheese factor I suppose.

Truth be told, haven't seen much of that, in my sole opinion, awful RP in Cordor East lately, watched the RDD squad a bit and they RPed quite seriously.

Live and let live.
