Anyone else having forum issues today? 1st I get a message saying: "This board is currently disabled." Now the bulk of the forums work but I cannot see the Announcements...

Well, we've been hacked last night, as many of you already know. Some jerk deleted a lot of stuff, including Announcements and Rules and Lore. We're adding stuff from a backup now, but that has to done manually and will take a lot of time.

is it possible that this is related to that greifer that was on B manipulating wiltuns guards seems a bit of a quiescence that some psycho boating he is a professional greifer is on then forums get haked.

mmm so it was a hacker after all, well IP ban will be recommended in this case but if it was able to hack the forum as well, this guy might have the knowledge to avoid that. In any case consulting with the isp will help a lot.
At least we all can be sure that a griefer or griefers like these wont make the amian community stop playing and having a nice rp fun with our friends here.

PhP is not so hard to mess with, an if he has the know how to get to the point were he can then chances are he can spoof his IP and his MAC, TBH, if hes even half decent with that kind of stuff he can come back and do it over and over. Should be straightforward.

He wasn't a pro by any means and he got access not due to 1337 haxxxxor skills, but thanks to a lot more mundane reasons, like most of them do. He simply got lucky this time.
We logged his every move, so we know exactly what happened.
Anyway, I'm gonna close this as it's not really a matter of public guessing and discussing right now.
