//I'm not going to go into detail, but you all can expect a likely large event for the drow comming up on the 11th of March, probably sometime in the late afternoon/early evening EST. So bring your favorite whip and a cushion for the pet spider to sit on and watch

Ah, looks like this'll be moving to Sunday the 13th, instead of the 11th. Should be at roughly the same time though.

Good fun! Sorry about the timing of the post I made in Within the Arach-Tinilith; I didn't actually know what was going on was a part of the event, or what the nature of the event was, so I didn't realize I may have been revealing anything important.

I have reverted the vandalism done to the Wiki in the wake of this event. Since the wiki is public domain and anyone can see the edits done, it also stands to reason that Beciv has no real need to hide what they have done, and such, deserves no real privacy over being spoken to.

Beciv, I have banned you from the wiki for a period of one month for your vandalism and harassment of the wiki. This punishment does not transfer over into the game, and I suggest you take that hint from the wiki and drop your attitude and stay IC, because the DMs will not hesitate to handle things there, either. If we hear about anything else, we will follow up on it as if it were any player harassing another.

I will be keeping a sharp eye on the various Drow pages in the wiki. If they continue to see vandalism I will not hesitate to hand out game and forum bans for harassment and hand out longer bans from the wiki. The wiki is not your place to carry out gurdge matches and vendettas. If you have an issue with a player, you should be speaking to them to try to resolve things amicably. If you have spoken to each other and still cannot come to some sort of constructive agreement, then contact a DM with relevant information (this means things like screenshots, logs, etc, we can do very very little off "he said she said".) and we will go from there.

It goes without saying how incredibly disapointed I am that this happened.

n.b.: Gers is the one who brought this to the DM teams' attention, not myself. I am making this post because I am the Wiki admin that made the relevant rollbacks and the subsequent ban from the wiki.

Good! I am glad you feel that way, because frankly, I would have posted the PM anyways, because the fact that you would try to do things with your name attached and then dive away from public discourse is an insult to your character that I would like to pretend does not apply to you.

I have no problem with not using the Wiki I will do it out of respect for the DM team however last I knew the wiki is player maintained and I did not post anything that was untrue about the faction as of the time I posted it. As a matter of fact I still have a character in the faction. I am interested to know what part of my update was incorrect? It had become a house of questionable deity and the Ilharess has fallen, according to the Yochol she was banished from the Edonil for the attack on the temple with Banites assistance.

Am I wrong in thinking that it should be kept up to date with in game information?

You blatantly vandalized the wiki with charged, biased wording intended to insult and belittle the players and leader of the faction. Here, allow me to quote, although anyone can simply go look for themselves by going to the wiki, searching "House Tinnerai, going to the page, and then looking through past revisions.

Quote:
They are known for their association with rivvil and attack on the temple of Lolth and the killing of drow and spiders within the temple. A feat they were only able to do with the aid of the Banite church.

This is not publically known and therefore you are putting out sensitive information with the intent of insulting and belitting and driving away players from the faction in question. The same applies for placing "Fallen" in their "House Status". The last bit implies that you are REALLY BUTTHURT that they had help and that you are insulting their faction along the lines of "Yeah whatever you only did it because they were there."

Quote:
It is hard to say what deities Tinnerai follow. They are known to venture on the surface and associate closely with Banites, Vhaerunites and other heretical gods.

Weasel words, biased suggestions intended to make the player doubt OOCly whether or not the faction is good to associate with. You are insulting and denigrating them in an attempt to drive awya their potentials.

Quote:
Tinnerai is a mostly dead house with a small player base. Expect to see members of other races wandering the halls of the Qu'ellar and being treated as equals to their fallen Ilharess. Members are expected to build up a good awareness of the political state of the city, and to always comport themselves in the best interests of the quellar, This includes making attacks on other drow within Edonil that do not support the idiology of the fallen Ilharess.

These are simply flat out insults and lies. I have seen a steady amount of Tinnerai on the server. They are not dead, and they do not have a small playerbase. Your "expect" is a biased line and the connotation is an insulting one. The final line again insults the faction leader and implies that if you join the faction you will be forced to do things that will make you hated by other players. This is a direc insult.

Quote:
Basicly the house has become a joke to the rest of the Lolthite drow. The Ilharess has no divine power and is incapable of interacting with other players.

This is absolutely nothing but an insult to the faction, to the characters, to the players, and to the leader who puts inm the hard work of running a faction, something you clearly have no respect for.

The fact that you even consider this defensible is the real joke here, and the fact thta you tried to hide it in a PM instead of addressing it in public is even worse.

Player maintained wiki? Yes. Battleground for your little vendetta and snide insults? No. The ban will stand.

Whoa. Harsh claims beciv. Your hurted feelings are so pure and strong my eyes blind when I red that kind of blasbemy text. I myself hold some pages in the amia wiki and I can see no reason according to that modification why you should EVER have the rights to edit the wiki.

Yes, it is player kept thing, but it is not meant for that kind of butthurt comments or information one couldn't know IC:ly unless witnessed / been there.

I am greatly disappointed on your behavior here beciv.

You know what...I'm ****ing done. I should not have made Tormak feel powerful by responding in the first place. Feel free to put a ban on my CD key. Me saying this ofcourse gets to ruin Tormak's day because he didn't get to lay out the threat of banning. I'm sure there are a great many other places that roleplay means something Amia has become nothing more than a pvp action server I can find role play elsewhere.

-- Naw, there’s no butthurt (I think you make that word up and can’t believe you used it) it wasn’t that they had help. It was that crazy stuff carved upon the idol of Lolth. Pesky rules to live by. And come on who hasn’t wanted to pull out their hair after a bout with those crazy Banites? I think it was fair to point out that Tinnerai itself didn’t do the spider killing it was those crazy Banites.

--Actually this will bring in players to join Tinnerai as there are players with an interest in Edonil but don’t want to join a Lolthite house. Seriously. It shows the Ilharess will ally with others that those other stuck up houses won’t. Although maybe could have left the “Vhaerunites and other heretical gods part” out. That's not really public knowledge. But might have brought in interest by players wanting to check out the waters.

Members of other races wandering the halls – check; Being treated as equals “guests” – check; Expected to build a good awareness of the political state of the city – check; comport themselves in the best interests of the quellar – check; Making attacks on other drow in Edonil that don’t support the ideology of the fallen Ilharess – check. (I was there for that PVP – why should the allies of Tinnerai have any respect for those that the Ilharess has no respect for? Makes sense to me.) And drow life is full of Ilharess making you do things that make other players/characters hate you. Drow are evil like that.

PS If you intend to flame me for a different point of view than yours I'd appreciate it in a PM, thanks.

I choose to only -majorly- edit things such as: my characters, things that I am currently the leader/mod of, and sections that are completely public.

Generally works well I find since even in the best of cases people tend to not like drastic changes to information pertaining to them without their consent.

I am not surprised that you are bothering to defend beciv, Fierene, since it is a given that even when you are trying to have a one on one discourse with one of you the other will inevitably chime in bu it does mean I'm just as disappointed in you for trying to defend their actions that are blatantly insulting and derogatory to the other Drow players. It is almost even more insulting that you are in their faction, because it implies that you're not mature enough to talk reasonably and rationally to your faction leader, instead you have to resort to immaturely "slandering" your own faction and the players who put in the work on their wiki.

Quote:
--to destroy or deface by vandalism Are you sure you didn’t mean slander?

Sure, if you would like me to say that you are slandering a player instead of defacing their wiki, I will happily agree with that. 8) That one will carry an immediate game ban though, since we take player harassment very seriously. Are you sure that's the route you two would like to take? Since clearly you are placing yourself as an agreed accomplice since you worked together on the PM that was sent to me.

Quote:
-- Naw, there’s no butthurt (I think you make that word up and can’t believe you used it)

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=butthurt

The rest of your comments are nitpicking stupid details in an attempt to derail the situation from what you SAID, which was insulting and derogatory to the other players. It does not matter if you try o pass yourself off under the guise of "Correctness" (which you are not, in fact, so it is not a defense!). The fact of the matter is what you said is (We'll go with the term we both agree on now!) slander.

Quote:
--- So is the rule that only the faction leader can update the wiki?

Perhaps it should be, to prevent things like you and beciv happening again to the wiki. If even a faction's own players will get butthurt enough to vandalize the wiki without consent, then perhaps it should be restricted.

EDIT: By the way, thank you Equalizer, for finding the other bit of vandalism and reverting it.

Edit2: By the way, I have removed the bit of censor bypass from Beciv's post, which only proves their immaturity.

Pretty sure the flames are already a-lickin'.

Meanwhile, if anyone does have a non-Lolthite drow, especially after this, I got some idears, if you want to help.

(Sorry for the shameless thread-jack, but good things can come of this too.)

Do we let it burst or let it burn us from the inside? I think it's good to go threw that what they did wrong, but maybe the topic is not for it.

So, I'd say we remove all posts not related to the original subject, and continue the rant on somewhere else?

Other option is to just lock so everything will be here but they can continue it in privacy *sage nod*

Agreed with Quarter. This is neither correct topic, neither an thing that should be discussed in public. Events got the blood boiling to an extreme level of it but mostly because poor presentation and way it was done. Still, no matter the happenings, its not worth this kind of actions.

Can we please get this cleared up and locked since event passed and happend please?

perhaps another meeting is in order, to air ooc laundry between players and dms. I am sure everyone had their specific motivations, and everyone is ready to accept the responsibility for their actions ICly. However, it is apparent that things do need to be talked over.

Thank you Tormak, I forgive him and have settled enough to no longer be mad at him. He was angry and not in possession of all the facts not to mention things went further out of control then I planned but that's the risk when you involve people who are and always will be individuals not a hive mind, no matter their best intentions.

I know some elements of the other side of the story ooc now however my character involved doesn't know those things and has her ic perspective to work from no matter how off I know her assessment to be oocly. In turn the other side doesn't know the ic, rp and everything else that's led to this place in time. They only have their side to work from. The two of you haven't been around the house for so long ecxept to steal something that neither I nor my character even know if you are still in the faction. It upsets me some because I've always liked the two of you and even helped get you two together but I'm not angry and won't let myself be.

Everyone has a perspective and those are created by known available facts to that person, most of the time no one is gifted with truely all the facts. This makes each sides perspective neither right, nor entirely wrong. I can't fault him for his feelings based on the puzzle pieces he has.

In conclusion there has been enough flaming. Nothing posotive could posibly come from more of it. I've forgiven him for what he did and I don't want anyone else bearing ill will toward him. If I can forgive what right does anyone else have to continue griefing :) my only remaining concern is how much of the ooc will bleed through to IC and what my character may be forced to do in responce to protect her house and herself.

Locking this. Any and all concerns regarding DMs and players can be forwarded to my PM box. Make sure you try and work it out between your players before you take it to the DMs. No one on the team is out to get any player, we're not petty. It's just a game!
