Okay, neato. So My schedual's opened up quite a bit, and this is a character concept I've had in mind for months, and decided to throw it out there. It's basically three old witches, sisters of course. (Though, by sages standards, not necessarily by blood.) Who are all great and mighty casters. (That means they'd have to have like, epic levels in any caster class, but all that can be worked out through PMs.) And most importantly, great Diviners, and prophets. Maybe even worshipers of Savras. (Guessing that since Mystra isn't dead yet, neither is he.) Really these characters are meant to be a source of knowledge, and though are individuals, each with their own feelings and quirks, act as a unit. Like I said, most other details and information (Like whatever names you want e.e) could be discussed over PMs, but heres the basics. Like I said, trying to keep it very vague, cause I dont wanna sound like hitler in my requirements for a char, but uhh. If anyone's interested feel free to send me a PM with their available playing times and We'll see if we can work something out. Thanks for reading.

this is an interesting concept but when it comes down to the IC you will have a hard time finding a place for three sages unless you default join the monolith faction. This problem is more IC then it is OOC, the monolith is a well established faction that when ever there is a magical need or question everyone goes to them. It's what stopped any hope of the Winya mages council from working... because the elves still went to the monolith even though we tried to build a foundation for an elven base of magic.
Don't think of this as a bias towards the Monolith as I said... they are a well established faction with their hand in everything... you would need to find a way around that. Just my two cents.

Yeah, part of the point of such endeavours is to be able to have your own "mini-faction" of sorts.

Yep, though if you make their names similar, you might attract people for the fun of figuring out which witch is which and which witch does witchery which way... Seriously though, I do like the idea. I've got enough on my plate already, else I might consider rolling a character for this. It's a neat concept, reminiscent of the old (Greek, I think?) myth about the three seers who only had one eye between them. Though Forestsong has a good point concerning the Monolith, I'm pretty sure there's a serverwide dearth of actual diviners and seers. At least, ones with the feats to back it up.

Heh, I actually spoke to a few people of a similar idea concerning the young, the mature and the old about two three weeks ago. You're in the US timezone though, hence I think it would be a bad idea as we will likely not be on a lot together.

Don't forget about the Loremasters' Guild, yo. Monolith is hardly the only game in town, just the most well-advertised and the biggest Area to run around in. There is plenty of room and resources for unaffiliated mages.

I can see this working. I've a character who uses the Monolith for minor stuff but anything important he keeps far away from the organization. ;D I'd love to see these three walking about.

Feelin' the hate, feelin' the hate.. Seriously, though, an interesting concept. Anyone looking to delve into the more obscure, more mysterious, more taboo and intangible aspects of magic get a thumbs up in my book. There is not enough of it, IMO. I even have a few ideas tossing around in my head, and would throw one down if I did not already play a wizard heavily inspired and inclined towards divination-to-begin. Savras is still alive and kicking, and there is a lack of Savras-adherents on the server. Ulrik tried to stir up Savras-related RP a while ago, to no effect. But yes, totally cool idea. Just, don't get it in your mind to ignore the Monolith. They're not thaaaaat bad. Have fun, good luck, etc.

I'm actually interested. I'm gonna think on it some more though, if slots aren't already filled up.
Just a question, I know you might like it to be limited to simply three, but if enough interest is gauged, would it even be possible to have more? Black Sister? White Sister, even? I don't want to take control and sway your ideas, but I think it could potentially be a really neat idea. The entire concept, that is.

woah, your idea makes me remember the magus sisters from FF >_> one heals, one buffs and one attacks, and occasionally they all decide to pwn you, unless you take them out in a certain order.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_3sLM_my34 <-- example (ff5 was awesome.) I'd probably join up but I already have a witch =) and I don't think the deitys match up. I totally recommend rolling up your toons with two other people like we did with a particular crew of pirates, your not going to find any epic level toons that exactly fit this backstory and work in perfect syncronicity without starting together =D the pirate thing unfortunatly failed epically when the captain went missing, but the characters lived on, thus is RP, I wish you and whoever joins you luck and totally look forward to encountering them ingame =)

Like I said, I've been rolling it around in my head and it took basis from the Graeae, Moirae, and the three witches that served Hecate in Macbeth. Also, I may have forgot to mention, ESF: Divination, will also be a req for all three. D: I mean, so what if there arent many high level DC save divination spells. >_> Thats what Dream Coins are for. (Things nulled by clarity dont count. -_-) Phearnun wrote: Heh, I actually spoke to a few people of a similar idea concerning the young, the mature and the old about two three weeks ago. Well, with the more people you bring into it, the more chance for epic failure to Occur. Especially when someone puts "Blagh is not like her other sisters-" In their bio. The trio just works, and works well. I mean look at American government? Three is just the ideal number. I'm both intrigued by and wary of this idea. The basic concept sounds fun and interesting, and I'm intrigued by the idea of a sort of oracular coven. But, I have the same reservation that many people seemed to have concerning the assassin-guild idea that's posted right now; namely, you seem to have some firmly preconceived notions of what classes, builds, etc., should be taken by the two sisters who aren't to be played by you. I like to know that when I'm concocting a character that she's *my* character, not a cog in someone else's master plan, you know what I mean? That might sound like a criticism, but I don't intend it that way: you certainly have the right to propose the idea however you envision it. But the potential of being told halfway through my character's build that she doesn't fit in with your concept is a little bit daunting, to be perfectly frank.

Well, Like I said, I was trying to keep it all very vauge, because I did want some people to have plenty of say in everything about their character, from background, to personal hopes and ambitions, etc. I simply felt it needed that regardless of their individual traits, they acted as a unit.
I can slap on an everything and anything can be negotiable, however, I really just thought anything outside of a caster class was, ya know, stupid for a diviner. >_> And I wanted their differences to be clear.

Clerics are actually amazing Diviners (a lot of the "best" Divinations are Divine only. Damnit.), but for that to work in NWN it'd be a lot more PnP power than mechanical power.

I could see myself helping with this. I wouldn't mind playing one of them. As for the assassin's guild comment above, it is revised at this point. But that's all I'll say considering it's not completely relevant to this thread. But yes as I have faced this problem, I'll talk about the idea. Perhaps you should stick with just the concept of three witches and let the other players pick what the other two do exactly.
That way, like is mentioned up above, no one will feel like they have to play a certain exact type of character and be discouraged by that.

-_- Really just trying to prevent:
"Hey, that sounds, neat, I'll roll one. But She'll be the older sister, and stronger than the others, due to her timeless knowledge of Divination"
Or:
"Sweet, I'll make one named Veronica. But the special thing about veronica is she gets her divination directly from her god, and is really a monk, immune from anything her sisters normally try to use against her!"
Or even just trying to offer multiple options, because if two people try to be a healer, one picks the class of Cleric, the other of Druid, obviously the Cleric would do it better, and the person with intention to be a healer, always being shown up, would grow a natural dislike of playing said character.

Hundred percent see your point. With mine I had to be alot more dynamic. But there are reasonable restrictions you can put on it since you have this vision. Make them only magic casting classes. Keep your current outlook on it, except let classes be switched. Say one class is still healer, another is offensive and the last is summoning. As for the other fears, that sounds a bit like some god modding sister.

Uhh, I had to deleted it to better allow for player choices, but I had imagined them as acting much like their colors. Red more dominant and offensive, Blue much the opposite. But people are free to play their chars how they wanna play them.

I wouldn't mind playing the red witch, I just don't know about if my faction will allow me enough time. Currently I play my other characters without any problems though.
