*The polling station closed and the Votes all counted, A sign goes up announcing the winner. The peoples vote was slightly off the adventurers, but not enough to sway the election.*

*Nina spent the night waiting for news of who won at home with her family. When it arrived, she grinned, knowing that either outcome would grant her more freetime around the Dale to see her children and as Deputy Mayor, she gets far more time than if she'd been voted actual Mayor. However, realizing how much her magic may still be needed, she made sure to find Lyam and offer her full support should he need her at any time. Not long after returning from that, her usual lightshow erupts outside the Meadowlark~Thorrow cart, and her shouting to neighbors:*
"Woo! Time to celebrate our new mayor!"

*A wooden box with a glass top is left in the Townhall addressed to Lyle. A small note pinned to the box says "Congratulations, Keete". Inside is a formidable looking cigar. A paper band on the cigar says "Gnomish Exploding Cigar Company" and "The Kaboomo Supremo" in gold lettering on a black background.*

If lit and smoked, the cigar DOES NOT explode. A moderately robust flavor and lingering spiciness enhances the mouthfeel of this lovely midlength but large diameter specimen. Light leather and hay notes and the production of magnificent plumes of creamy smoke denote a truly first class presentation of cigar crafting.

Lyle, having gotten complete crocked the night before, misses the announcement until mid-day. He finds his way to his office an hour or so later, and begins to work on his acceptance speech, looking perfectly sober.

Pilineth nods in approval, knowing that either of them would have been a credit to the dale.

"Just wait to see what happens I suspose."

Ruby pauses to look over the notice, looking slightly concerned, but then hurries to the northern fields to spend the rest of her day outside, in the air and with the land (and with Jehran and Prink nearby).

Aidee jots a quick note down and leaves it on the mayor's desk to meet up for an interview, then goes back off, whistling, to plan out her next paper.

Harlequins! We are nearing almost the same amount as the old adventurer fund in grants. However I was approached by the recently returned gnome, Keete, and was offered his services for our new fund. He made it clear to me that we can take the orders and he can fill them out - in other words, he would craft for the Harlequin Adventurer Fund. He simply asked that one day in the future that he will ask for the Harlequin aid in our areas of expertise (we would help with such to anybody for free anyways!). I agreed!

Keete's god is Baervan Wildwanderer whom is a friend to Brandobaris... with the permission of all, I would like to welcome Keete as an ally to the Harlequins!

Since about a week ago from the day the results were announced, a particular Hin has been missing from the Dale totally and completely. Even though it had become common place for her to make her visits to the Dale very short, she always did visit the town. However, Willow hasn't been seen at the Dale many days.

It is, indeed, atypical behavior, considering who was running for mayor. Especially to those who know her, it's very atypical behavior. No presence, no vote, no nothing.

An intrepid and dashing (even if she does say so herself) gnome has been sniffing around for more information regarding the Harlequin's Adventurer Fund, trying to find out who qualifies, what's offered, what's been given, and even (if she can find anyone) what people who have benefited from it say about it.

It is with much excitement that the Harlequins of Brandobaris would like to announce that Master Keete has offered his crafting services to the Harlequin Adventurer Fund!! Adventurers, ask away and it shall be made!

Dear Aidee,

I have heard that you are looking for information on the Harlequin Adventurer Fund. Allow me to answer some of the questions that I heard asked!

Who Qualifies?
Any resident of the shire of Bendir Dale. The fund favours to help new folk but helps all adventurers. A resident must simply ask and have one sponsor that will speak on their behalf that they won't go on a murderous rampage with the knowledge/equipment given to them!

What's offered?
The Harlequin Adventurer Fund offers anything one will need for their adventures of course! We offer knowledge, weapons, armor, training, trinkets and more. Simply request and we shall do the rest (and you can quote me on that one!).

What's been given?
The total funds spent are at: $21, 831 thus far. Only grants have been requested at this point... but we also have an item list of equipment on hand - but adventurers are still greatly encouraged to request whatever they need even if it is not on the list. Master Keete has recently offered his services to perform crafting tasks for the fund to aid adventurers!

Who's benefited?
Just ask around for yourself and see all the adventuring Hins, Gnome, Dwarves and Fey!

A new edition is passed around the Dale, one copy left on the mayor's desk and several left with Fendel to pass out to Harlequins.

"Extra! Extra! It's an extra edition of the Bendir News! Special Edition just for the new mayor--and the happy, married couple. Read it before the upcoming speech!"

When Briar finally pokes her antisocial nose out of her home with Egan, she takes a walk around Bendir, looking at the various notices and catching up on what gossip that Egan hadn't yet shared (which was a very small amount, truth be told).

She'd make a face, listening to the election results, but she'd nod.

"Could be worse, I guess. I'll catch Ole Peg to congratulate him."

Hard liquor arrives to Mayor Lyle's Office with a simple note (with recognizable hand writing) attached:

You will be needing this. Although trust me when I say... save some for later!

*Egan can be seen baking and cooking...an occasional argument breaks out between Egan and Bemmi or the Chicken Farmer. Since his repremand at failing to let Briar in on Dale issues...his grin has been omni-present and the twinkle in his eye unsettling*

The third edition is passed out by (what appears to be) a ghost! At least, if you see the newspaper being passed out, you'd see it being handed out and placed around by a see-through figure that is completely silent, the top half is humanoid in form and the bottom half trails off into a wisp ((think of the stereotypical sheet-ghost)).

The form says nothing and does nothing except pass out the newest edition of the paper. If interacted with (or if you get in its way), it has absolutely no substance or feeling about it ((if interacted with, a Will Save of 15 shows it to be an illusion; Silent Image)).

The Dale is now accepting applications from those who wish to pursue the positions of either the Treasurer or the Event Planner. Please send a letter to the office of the mayor, and include:

Your name
Your goals for the position
Any credentials you may have

Once the application deadline has passed, the applicants will be revealed and open to a public forum so that Town Hall may make an influenced decision.

Brandy is seen looking for Willey and has achieved his request.

Madock can be seen more often in the graveyard than he has in the past. Anyone with spellcraft might recognize that he is perform a Hallowed Grounds ritual over the entirety of the graveyard.

If asked why he is doing this, he would just reply along the lines of, "I should have done this long ago, considering the graveyard is outside the safety of the gates."

*Time Nina isn't spending with her family or new duties is spent by the crystal on the hill overlooking the graveyard, fully outfitted in spells and her favored armor. She stands vigelent, a one woman army, as though expecting possible trouble from something or someone. The hulking figure of the juggernaut, Tin Can, looms dutifully nearby, barring any non-Hin/Gnome/Fey from getting too close.*

Willow may be a no-show inside of Bendir Dale, but she still travels the outskirts and the Graveyard has become a regular stop for her lately. She nods and/or exchanges words with her friends, but usually keeps it brief, explaining that she's on patrol.

Brandy looks around Town Hall in hopes of finding a detailed description of both jobs.

Brandy, and any other inquirer would receive the following:

The Treasurer keeps track of the town's finances, budget and revenue and helps decide on ways to minimize cost and maximize profit.

The Event Planner coordinates the town's resources to aid in celebrations and events engineered by the town's folk to ensure everything is safely guarded and reasonable accommodations are made. They work as a liaison between Town Hall and the person who wishes to help the event go over smoothly. Also, during periods of stagnation, they are tasked with brainstorming events that boost morale, encourage positive community interaction and ward of stretches of boredom, and bringing them before town hall for approval.

Brandy Bramblefoot - The Next Party Planner

Goal: I wish to lighten the hearts and spirits of the fine folk whom reside in the shire of Bendir Dale on more of a community level. I already do this on a personal level with residents I run into, but to be able to spread more live-full ways on a community scale would make this shire an even better place to reside in. With mainly four unique races habiting this shire, I believe we always have something to celebrate!

Some things I would offer to this community and plan to do would be:

Plan the tenday community gatherings (Mayor Lyle’s idea) but also to supply a story teller to wrap up with a good story. Not to mention foodstuffs, ale and general entertainment.

Every so often through out the year we could have a national Tribute Day to the Hin Pantheon. While we celebrate we can dismiss much taller ignorance (by inviting them out to spend their coin on goods) & thank our beloved deities for their blessings.

I can perform countless other events and certainly plan to in the good name of the Scamp if granted the Party Planner Position. The above is just a taste to come!
