Hey,
I`m newbie (obviously...) and I just can`t find out how can a character be uploaded elsewhere than Cordor South? As a new character. Similar, how can I continue close to the spot I was last time? Bind to a crystal before I leave then just teleport there after upload?
Rp, what to do when the elf character of mine just run up against a drow (player or npc)? Can I make her or him hostile straight away? Similar, I ended up in Tarkuul... was weird not to pick a fight with the city guard...how does this work? Can I just go against them then die or will it be punished (like banned IP address etc)?
Thanks for Your patience and help!

Thanks for Your patience and help! On the spawn point for your character, after you've bound to a different crystal node, use the portal wand and choose the "set home point for Amia Island" (or Abroad if you're wanting to set it for B). Choose the slot you wish to be your spawn point and that will do it. And yes to your question about you just use a portal charge to teleport elsewhere. On the PVP stuff, I'll let someone else answer, but the Rules are posted on the forums... Um, lemme try to find and I'll edit. EDIT: http://www.amiaworld.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=55956&p=918579#p918579

Re: New character bindpoint, when you create a character, you'll be able to select from a few different places to bind to. IT's not recommended unless you know your way around the server since Cordor (And Fortress Wiltun on B) have the local starting quests.
Re: Continuing from where you left off, the crystals can help, but every reset (4 hours), everyone will end back up in the entry and back at their starting bindpoint.
Re: PvP, Merrien linked you the rules there. PvP needs to have roleplay behind it. There's nothing wrong with hostiling right away to be prepared for it, but you can't simply attack on sight.
Re: Tarkuul/NPCS: Please don't attack any non-hostile (a.k.a. "not glowy red") NPCs in the module without a DM knowing and present to play the environment.

Some more advice.
Don't make a Weapon Master without taking epic prowess.
This thread, pretty much covered now.

EDIT: http://www.amiaworld.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=55956&p=918579#p918579 Thanks for clearing the spawning thing! I`ve read the pvp rules, I just wanted to know a bit more before I make something stupid. So I guess if I see a drow I can just say OOCly to the player that I`d like to attack her/him, because this is a sort of RP that pre-set on Forgotten realms, as elf and drow are enemies. And the player can just run off as part of the rp "to react and possibly back down IC". I don`t want to beat up everybody, just was a bit weird for first, rather ignore this whole enemy thing than ruin others` day For Tormak: Sure thing! As I said above it is just about rp (as I used). I won`t attack npc`s - as I did not. Thank You both! ps.: Thank You MoshingChris for the Weapons Master advice!

XD As for Elves/Drow. Make sure you RP before you attack. Hostiling is fine, you can hostile whoever, but the actual attack, or letting your summon attack, has to have a good bit of RP /AND/ an IC out. Like "If you don't run right now, I'm gonna cut you up!" and then give them a chance to respond. They may want to type up a response, so give them a minute to take the out. Some people do type slow here, so try to be considerate of that. And remember that we do have quite a few surface drow. While your char may not know it ICly, it'll make for some interesting RP.

Also, if you do hostile someone and you've got a summon/familiar out, set it to guard you or something else before hostiling, else the summon will likely go nuts and go after the person without your wanting it to.

Hello everyone, Before I start playing here I'd like to get some pieces of information about this server. I've already read some articles, but still there are some things unknown for me. And I apologize in advance if such questions have been already asked, but it's hard for newbie to read everything Ok, so let's go: 1. 30 lvl is max here, am I right? 2. Is haste viable here as an easy-to-get? I mean is this common bonus in items or feats like "blinding speed" are worth to take? 3. What is the highest, and what is the most most common upradge of items here? +1? +2? +3? 4. Does Amia have new, untypical for nwn weapons such as 2-handed hammer? 5. This might be a silly question, especially on this kind of server, but could you possibly tell me a bit about pace of leveling here? I mean, how many time would it take to reach max lvl? (I don't know if I should focus on one character or do as many as I can imagine ) 6. Question for builders: what AB for characters is satisfactory? And what about AC? 7. I see that there are two Amia servers, can one character "travel" from one server to another, or they have different servevaults? 8. What kind of monsters are the most popular here? If I'd like to create ranger, what "favored enemies" will be the most efficient? 9. Are horses available on the server? 10. What happens if character dies? Is there typical nwn death system or something was modified? 11. Items once again: Are immunities (knockdown, death spells, mind affecting spells etc) common in items or is it worth to take some additional save-increasing feats? I think that's all. Sorry if some of these questions repeat n-time, and thanks in advance for answers. Greetings.

I think it's covered now ;D

Amia incorporates an ECL (Effective Character Level) system. The subraces page will detail more, but some races such as drow have a +2 ECL, meaning that a drow can only reach level 28. Also, with 4. Yes, there are weapon changes here. The heavy flail, for example, can be modified to look like a 2-H hammer. Tridents have been shifted into a 1-H weapon and can be modified to look like a short spear. So, yes. There are non-base NWN weapons available on Amia. With 6. Go to the Build Advice thread for specifics, but I can say that it varies depending on whether you're speaking about PvM or PvP. With 8. Go to the Build Advice thread once again. Post your build and the "experts" will adjust where needed.

I heard that there was perma haste items before in Amia, according to stories there still is (+4 large shield + perma haste).
But odds of getting one of the items are less than 0,0000000000001%. Only heard of one person who has it and I forgot the name.
6. 40-50 AB is rather common, and so is 55-65 AC I would believe. Satisfactory is something you should feel. You can read a bit about builds and peoples oppinions on the build forum. Some have less AB and AC than above, some has more.

The monsters are server were designed with two purposes in mind, one was to not be punishing so that even "weaker" rp builds could be utilised and not feel like an epic challenge to level. And the endgame stuff is soloable if you powerbuild so its kinda in the sweetspot as far as monsters go. As far as I know no haste items were actually given out when Amia was born though some might still be around though not on any shields unless someone got one in the 2-3 years I was away. Fairly sure Alu, Drowish monk, still has hers and Amy might still have one too but otherwise you won't find haste on items. As permanent non-dispellable haste is as broken as horses in terms of engine statistics.

There are two permahaste items left on the server, and both of them are in the vaults of players that have not logged in in over 3 years.
And I like it that way.

You don't want to end up with like fifty alts that you never get around to lvling with because there are just too many or that you never remember who you RP'ed with as who or when. Stick with one, build on them, they make more of an impact on the server than if you are playing multiple characters. You'll lvl quicker focusing on the one character too + get more RP AND it's easier to remember who you RP'ed what with. Try to pick a race/class you know you'll enjoy if possible, to get as much enjoyment out of the server as possible. It's always a good idea to look up info about the race you may want to play too. Unless you're going Human, which is easy for anyone to play. Hope this helps.

Sorry if some of these questions repeat n-time, and thanks in advance for answers. Greetings. Welcome to the server, stranger. 1. 30 is max. 2. It's available as spells and haste potions mostly. Perma-haste items don't exist normally. 3. +4 would be the common weapon. 4. You can take heavy flail then change the appearance into a maul via the job system. 5. Anywhere between 3 days to 3 months. Depends on how fast you grind. Typically I take 1-2 months. And yes, focusing on one character is the best. Especially if you enjoy the character. 6. 40-50 AB is the norm. 50 AC is the baseline, including tumble dump, simple plate and tower shield. 7. Linked. 8. Those that are crit immune, like elementals, undead and constructs. You'd probably want outsider, giant and abberation for endgame regions. If you think you'll PvP alot, get human, elf and outsider. 9. Nope. 10. You lose 100xp per level and 10% of your total gold if you hit the respawn button, that's all. 11. Only freedom is common on gear. Other immunities come from potions and spells. Solid benchmark for any save is 40.

Regarding question nr. 10. You can die once on server A without penalties. Like a freebie or sorts, where you get into contact with some soul person that lets you off the hook the first time.
