Yes. The problem is Bard without Fighter or Divine Champion levels. It hurts.

Please assist.

Needs SF:Discipline for Knight Commander. And I think that KD ring got removed from Amia for some reason I don't know.

I need Skill Focus: Discipline and Toughness for Knight Commander. Those two feats get rid of my ability to take Improved Critical and Improved Knockdown.

As is, the build makes use of Curse Song, Taunt, and Entreat to give it an effective AB boost that's a bit silly when the numbers are figured. With a severely reduced AC (around -11 if they're not flatfooted by Entreat) and a damaged Discipline (-13) I think most enemies will be reduced to Knockdown fodder. I'd love to take IKD, and I have the Intelligence for it. There just doesn't seem to be the space.

EDIT: And they stripped Knockdown from any and all items in the module.

Not unless you take a different race, but that would be affecting the whole roleplay/character behind it. In any case I think you should replace Epic Prowess for Improved Critical at the least but that's just my opinion.

I am thinking about making a rebuilding from level 17, since I've taken "Quicken Spell" at level 18, cause thought it will be good idea to take "Auto-quicken" later, but then realized that haste spell gives same effect, and there's no much use in taking it. Though I am not sure what to take instead of it - there was an idea to pick martial weapons for that sorcerer's rapier I've found, but had no use cause wasn't proficient with that type of weapon. But I'll probably won't have any use for it on higher levels. So not sure about it. Another thing was to take another spell focus. Though not sure if it'll worth to have third focus since I already have two. And I'll have to spend at least one epic talent to make it greater later. Another thing, since I was doing almost two years ago, I was told that picking dragon knight spell was a good idea, but now it seems it was not so good idea, since Epic Mummy Dust works good enough, while dragon is just too fat (and dumb too actually) to get anywhere cause of it. Another thing was about picking epic mage armor spell. Since I'll have about 45 AC at most with it at level cap, I was told it's not matter much if it'll be actually 45 or 20. Not much difference. Which leads to logical conclusion that I don't need it that much anyway. And now the point is if I should spend three feats to get another epic spell focus, take two more ability feats (for +1 DC to all spells) and replace quicken spell with weapon proficiency or something. Or do something completely different from all above. So I need some advice about it cause every time I think about it, I somehow become even more confused.

I always liked the utility in item creation feats. Especially as a sorcerer. Make wands of useful utility spells that you might not want to take the next level.

As for a third line of spell focus feats, not really worth it if you need to dip your epic feats for Greater focus.

Dragon Knight is a solid choice still, so long as Conjuration is one of your spell focuses. Mummy Dust has more flavor and utility, though.

Epic Mage Armor is nice and handy, but I (personally) don't find it necessary if you're playing a pure caster. It's a good pick if you take it. You may not really miss it if you don't, though.

Without knowing your character or build, I'd recommend Craft Wands, Mummy Dust, Greater Ruin.

Is wand crafting useful at all? And for what? Cause it was pretty useless since all spells that being casted from wands are pretty low level. As for third spell focus, I though so myself, since I have actually only one spell for evocation, and defensive spells just not worth it. And yes, conjuration is one of those I have (and it was take for purpose of having dragon pet actually even though it has other uses as well). So I suppose if I'll take wand crafting (still need explanation though), spending two epic feats I left for attributes gonna be good idea? Can't think of something else this way, since epic mage armor is no use.

I'm trying to come up with the very most useful all-rounder weapon for a Shifter who uses all shapes. Weapon type needs to be Druid or Simple. First of all, which of the following options would you recommend? And secondly, can anyone offer suggestions for the types of Mythal-modifications that I should look at to improve on these?

Option 1 wrote:
Scimitar: Keen, 1d6 Sonic, +1 Regeneration.

Option 2 wrote:
Mace: 1d6 Magic, On Hit: Hold DC14, +2 Vampiric Regeneration.

Option 3 wrote:
Dagger: 1d6 Acid, On Hit Poison 1, On Hit Poison 2. (I've totally forgotten which two types of poison are on the She'kat Fang Dagger, but it would be a modified version of that.)

Option 4 wrote:
Any of the Trueforged, or whichever version of those weapons has: Keen, 1d10, Massive Crits

My personal opinion is to take the most extra damage, vamp, keen, and massive criticals. The hold could be good as long as the mobs can be affected by it. Didn't know weapons could have regen, but its tempting also. Also i would change damage to sonic if possible except for the magic damage one.

Indeed. Even Salema, which sells wands and scrolls for only a 10% profit makes a lot of gold in the end.

I'd personally take regen. My shifter's gear set has regen on almost all her items. Been a long time since I used her but she was regenerating easily 5-10hp per round or something. Very useful imo

Right, so. Paladins. They still elude me.

Great Smiter pally, are they really just one trick (three with Extra Smiting) ponies?

Scythe WM pallies, are they possible? I've been trying to build one just for giggles and it looks all wrong. Horribly, horribly wrong. Is it just too hard on a level 30 server?

Any other tips on pallies? I have one that's low-level, but he's a nifty Pally/KC build that I made streamlines for RP reasons (though he certainly won't suck at all).

Smiters are awesome, though if you make one I recommend going Human. Aasimar has nice role play, but mechanically you'll get two more feats (so two more Great Smites) out of Human.

Greate Smite builds are not one trick ponies. They're powerful builds that are more defensive than strength-based Paladins save in short bursts. Strength Paladins have higher Attack Bonus and do more all-day damage, yet have lower saves (barely worth mentioning - they're Paladins after all) and can't obtain a maximized Dodge Armor Class without Haste and Mage Armor. Charisma Paladins have good Attack Bonus and great damage (by virtue that half of it isn't capable of being resisted) that get to astronomical levels in short bursts a few times a day. On top of that, they have higher saves consistently more Armor Class.

In short: Strength Paladins have more versatility as they do what the do in spite of their enemy's alignment. Charisma Paladins are more survivable and blow up bad guys with 300-500 damage when necessary.

Also: Paladin / CoT / WM is possible but ugly. Really ugly.

This is true, but misleading. Do a 19 paladin, 4 fighter, 7 weaponmaster on a human and you'll find everything slips right into place. It must be charisma based, though. None of this strength bull-poo.

Is Disarm useful on a Shifter at all? I know that some of the shapes get it, but I'm wondering how well it works on said shapes. Also, if it would be worth getting Imp Disarm (because it should supersede the shape's Disarm feat, right?)?

If you want to make a functional WM Paladin Smiter you'll have to use a shield. I recommend going with a Warhammer or Battleaxe. You'll get x4 Smite damage on 15-20. That's just not nice.

Your shifter looks fine, Naiv. Improved Critical: Unarmed would be nice, though. Epic Listen is silly. Epic Spot is plenty enough.

1) Yeah I mostly threw in Epic Listen just cause. I could lower my starting WIS by 1, then ... or I think I'll toss in Epic Prowess for extra fighting fun.

2) Would Imp Disarm work well at all on a Shifter? The whole shapes and differing stats make my brain cry when I try to think about it, lol.

3) What would Imp Crit: Unarmed do? Wouldn't any of the unarmed shapes already have it?

Shifters break my brain :<

I'm sure Disarm would work just fine.

No, you'll need to take Improved Critical: Unarmed for the shapes to have it. There are a lot of unarmed shapes to take advantage of the feat.

Alright, Derk, you win.

Naiv -- Epic Prowess is the way to go, I think. More Attack Bonus, especially if you're wanting to use combat feats, is something you will never regret having.

Alright, dropped Expertise for it. I'd rather keep Blind Fight/IKD/Imp Disarm.

Unless someone has a compelling reason to keep Expertise for it, then I guess I could dump SF: Spot or Alertness (but likely the former).

You'd have to drop SF: Spot or you wouldn't be able to go shifter in the first place (Alertness required).

Also I'm pretty sure I've seen at least one scythe paladin, but that was the last time I was around. No comment on that one, other than big scary numbers with divine might crits.

Absolutely useless. Shifter AC is so stupidly high anyway in almost all of their forms that, short a dedicated WM / higher level Barbarian with True Strike potions or a Strength based Paladin, everything ever will whiff trying to hit you all day.

Ignore everything I wrote and listen to Sphinx. He knows what he's talking about. Seriously.

I don't really bother with Imp Expertise for shifters. Expertise is definitely a great little addition when you want to be kept safe, but investing two feats can sometimes come at the cost of other things you're after. It depends on the type of thing you want to do with the class. In most cases I'd recommend at least getting Expertise.

(Although that said, my latest shifter ends up with Imp Expertise.)

I dont see why you would pass on +5 free AC for when you are spamming high DC abilities.

I see no Dragon Shape. Is it that terrible that no one takes it?

Dragon Shape doesnt receive the tons of free AC that Shifter provides, the infinite uses/day attack is easily countered by elemental protections, and the form is huge. if I have trouble moving with Earth Elemental around, I can imagine the nightmare it is for Dragon Shapers.

Because forgoing other shape feats for Dragon Shape isn't worth it. Only very specialized builds can take them all.
