No you won't. Only the +3 vampiric regeneration will proc.

No, it does only function sporadically, but that sporadic functionality isn't changed by extraneous vampiric regeneration properties on an item.

So, this question's come up a lot, so I figured I should ask about it.

What the hex is up with the enslaved kobolds in the swamp?

...Like, I don't question their existence. Or, well, I do. But for weird reasons. Because I saw they were a part of the module, and me and some others talked about them IC rather frequently, and even made some IC plans related to the fact that there enslaved kobolds in the swamps, and a whole bunch of other good stuff... Oooonly to be told that, apparently, they've already all been freed not once, but several times, and they're "no longer there anymore IC".

And haven't been. For, like. Months.

. . . But they're still there.

It's kind of an awkward thing, to be honest, because other people keep roleplaying their existance but we keep getting told by DMs to ignore that they exist. So then we have to awkwardly explain that they no longer exist because a DM told us they no longer exist, and then they be all like "but they clearly exist in the module and they would've been removed by now if they weren't there" and then we have to ask DMs again and we get the same story and it's really getting kind of awkward.

So, my question is: What's the deal? Are there enslaved kobolds in the swamp, or not? And if there aren't, why are they still there? Apparently it's been a very long time since they were "freed", so. Curious as to if that's a thing or just misinformation.

I would say, if the DM Staff is aware, and they made a ruling, that there are most likely plans for an update in some future ....um, update.

If anyone gives you shit about it, refer them to a DM.

It's one of the many "yah, we are getting to that" in a PDF with more pages than the one with the list of skills that ignore Jarvan IV's ult.

They are lost and stuck in the swamp... Also think post emancipation -> formers slaves didn't just leave where they lived. It's all they knew, its like Jim Lizard laws. They are stuck there because of poverty and lack of ability due to the swampy social structure not allowing those at the bottom to have any social or fiscal mobility.

I saw in someone's recent request for a spell, they referred to a list of "pre-scripted spells". I'd heard this was going to be released and made public by the team, but, I have no idea where to find this list. Can anyone help?

So I'm fussing around in the toolset, trying to make something Telvanni-esque. What is this area type called- or, rather, how do I find this area in the toolset? Because I can't. Something like this would be grand, so if anyone knows of any other areas that are similar in design (cylindrical, "naturey"), I'd like to know how to find 'em.

Let's answer this but posting a question before I forget.

Does regeneration work on plants as well?

It's at the bottom of that post.

How much is the DC cost of scripting a wizard spell to use as a Cleric spell?

Depends on the spell innate level I guess.
A Lvl2 Barkskin was priced at 17DCs when added (as custom spell) to the Ranger spellbook.

It looks like a tiny piece of paper next to where it says "Posted: (Insert Date)". Right-click that tiny piece of paper and select "Copy Link Location" to get the link to that exact post.

How in the world does the library system work? I clicked a bunch of shelves in the library and they just said 'You find nothing new'.

It's based off of a search check, usually a DC 15!

Wait so you find nothing if you don't pass the DC? But my char hasn't even had a chance to find anything, she just wanted a book to read :(

We should probably make it a tiered thing, if possible, so you can 'check out' books you have already found and there are books everyone finds by default.

That's a bit silly, it's kind of hard 'not' to find a book on a bookshelf, in a library, to boot. :P Maybe the search should be for 'hidden' bits of scrap paper or scrolls with secret knowledge on it!

That is what I suggested initially for the scripting. Not sure if that made it in or not. Heeler drafted the script and I think the DC varies from shelf to shelf. I believe it should never be higher than DC 15, but most shelves should be lower. (I think.)

The DC 15s were the only one's I was passing! (Which sounds a bit odd) So maybe that wasn't added in?

It should work similar to the Lore Objects you can find peppered through the server, where it is d20 + your ranks in the Skill, in this case, the Search skill, vs. a set DC. No modifiers apply from equipment or bard song or anything, so I am not sure if the ability score makes a difference. But then I don't know for a fact because while I compiled the vast majority of the information I didn't script the system. :(

I just realized...

Search is Intelligence.
Image

Constructively now; I gave a twirl to the system and I've realized that the first time that you read a shelf, "you" being the first character getting to them, they trigger the Search check. On success you get to select a book from the pile - on failure the book is randomly selected for you.

After that, I assume the shelves must go into a sort of cooldown for the next character who wants to snatch a book in which you get the "you find nothing interesting" text. Otherwise the system needs a lil' tweaking.

I mean, the building materials merchants took supply and demand into account for adjusting cost, if I recall correctly. But due to people constantly rushing the merchants to buy up ALL of the goods before anyone else, I believe Glim removed them. Given that there were a few warnings to not do it, and people wouldn't stop.

Gave it a pair of hours, and the bookshelves do not refresh. It seems they are one-player-per-reset.

Regarding the bookshelves:

Maybe just make some books at a DC 1, so at least there is something to look at.
I like the idea of more rare books at a higher DC, and even the varied DC checks for different books.

I may (or may not) have asked this in game long ago, but a confirmation here would be good...

1- When asking for a Job log reset, what happens with the content saved in the (job system) trader / merchant chest?
Assuming I retake the same trader job, is the database erased or will I see all my stuff again ? Do I have to transfer all storage to another PC before resetting the job log?

2- to clarify as well : is it the same answer in case of a full rebuild ?

thanks

I think I'm upsetting Heeler for all of my pestering in regards to organization and the like. It's a great concept and I'd hate to complicate it after her hard work. It seems the player submitted texts are randomized, and some titles repeat on the shelves; that's just how the mechanics works. In terms of non-player submitted entries, the library has already been categorized so we'll run with that.

1) Yes. You have to empty your merchant stuffs because they disappear with the job log.

2) I don't know. I THINK they should remain because I think that stuff is linked to the log, but I cannot affirm this.

1) What Ice said. For my reset I had to find a very kind friend to help me load and unload hundreds of bars of metal in and out of their crete to mine. Its a pain in the butt!
2) I did a rebuild down to level 2 and back, my job system strorage was uneffected.

Did you make a new char, or use the existing one?

I think you only loose stuff when you have to make a whole new char.

If it's tied to your PC wand, you should keep it all when you rebuild, but without the job you can't physically access the materials or add more. I could be wrong, though.

It should be tied to your PC Key, yes. Full rebuilds were the only kinds of rebuilds I could get with Zelly, due to the 20 Dragon Disciple levels, so I know my rebuilds were full. So long as nothing happens to your PC Key, you should be fine.
