I've experienced lately some major lag. Both servers. Sometimes it takes even 10 seconds for my toon to respond on the commands. For example while hunting i click on the monster, and than I am waiting for 5-10 seconds to see what happened in speed motion. Also when I am not hunting, it happens that I run someplace and 5 seconds later, I am teleported to the starting position. I never had the trouble with lag before. I tested my speed while in nwn and it was normal. Is this has something to do with the third hak update and is there anyone else who has this problem?

EDIT: And it just happened to me on Amia B. I am completly frozen in the entry area and cannot move or anything. It kicks me out of the game for no reason, servers sometimes don't show up. Sometimes my toons don't show up. Sometimes they do. Completly random.

I had problems similar to this before the server move and before I switched ISP's. I really don't know what to do to help.

Disco might have some helpful advice. Or he may ask you some questions about your comp/OS/connection/etc to try and help recommend a solution.

I've heard something about "critical rebuild" one guy did once when he had epic lags like me now. But dunno what that is.

The critical rebuild is the 1.69 patch.

Do a fresh install of NWN and remove all overrides and old hak packs. Patch it via the critical rebuild route, and then download and install the amia haks and overrides. Make sure you got the latest GPU drivers as well.

If that fails go back and figure out what changed on your side.

A lot of times a defrag of your harddrive can help do wonders to help lower your lag.

Do haks from other servers (BoB) interfere with Amia haks?
Sorry, I just don't know enough about this stuff.

Not playing on other servers. Anyway, this happened to everyone last night. It's not going all the time, but it never happened before. I'll try with disco's.

I've been getting epic lag at 10am EST for the last two days. I've taken that as a hint that I need to sleep since I work nights. But it's been really bad lag, like I can't see the spawns or my party moving but the chat log and the combat log keep going, though.

Make notes of which server it happens on, how many people were playing at the time, etc. Just stating "I have lag" doesn't get us anywhere near a solution if it's something on this side.

We have a backup program running, it may have been that.

I get delays in the gamespy server list. Amia will show with pings around ~50 and other times it'll stay at -1 and the server won't refresh. It takes several tries to successfully connect to either server in that case.

Try to do a tracert on the server when this happens. Hickups like this could be caused by about anything.

Yes same issues here. What is tracert?

It's a command in your DOS box. Just pop up that little black box from Accessories and type "tracert www.amiaworld.net" without the quotes.

I bet this is some Gamespy issue, though, especially if the forums give you no problems.

I bet this is it. Usually when I have been playing there has been no lag whatsoever, but every now and then there is a huge spike for a short while, regardless of player count.

Type it into Command Prompt.

This one is the network of the building our server is in. I guess they have put a ping/tracert blocker on it, which seems to be some standard security thing these days. 32 ms is very nice, though.

No, no, that's after that last one (which is what everyone has) ... I still have 314 ms up to there, though, so cookie is mine anyway (and that's because I'm on a good connexion atm)

Woots, that's a 'nice' ping!

Anyway, please do this if you have one of these hickup moments...

1. note down the time and convert it to GMT+1
2. do a tracert
3. check if it's both forum and GS and make a note of it
4. note down the amount of players on both servers
5. post all of that here

Both forum and game are lagging, other players complain, some players crashing.
I was playing on A.

Well, that's not a problem with the connection itself, 54 ms is fine. Keep posting, I am running a logger.

I'm getting a lot of lag lately, and I know of a few others who are, too. Mind you, this occurred after I got a lot overrides. I'll try renaming the folder and see if that helps.

Experincing some pretty nasty lag again. Like, not being up to log into the server at all because hangs on black screen lag. Timed out once already and haven't done that in years. I miss the server being in the U.S.A.

Yups, that's not that bad. I'll have a look at the logs if I can find anything unusual. This happened at the time of posting?

Pretty much. The server was pretty full though, think 56 in A and 30 or so in B.

I have had some issues with my PC. I did a check, and I think it may have been my PC causing a good amount of it. Rather compounding the issue I have with connecting to the server from my location. Ah well.

Well, only A having the issue is rather peculiar, though. It may just be that the amount of players is pushing your connection over the edge.

Mmm... I think something is stressing the server a lot, not sure what it is. It just seems to start with a lot of of CPU overhead now and then and after that it never goes down again.

im no expert here but I got a theory, wut about system heat? CPU raising and not going back sounds like it could be caused by heat, at least, its a theory.

one thing I know, it lags more when its not like, 65 players, room full, if that gives you a time reference to work by. idk where on earth the servers are. but my ping is 78 and has been since yesterday.
