Do you need DM permission to play a half aquatic elf? The SRD doesn't mention any bonuses half aquatic elves get, but then, aquatic elf need special permission, so I'm asking.

If it's not a readily selectable subrace, you need to request it.

A half-aquatic elf is a half-elf, and is the mechanically same as every other half-elf. Half-drow only get their own separate subrace because drow are a bunch of emo Mary Sues. ** (** This is my opinion. I do not represent my opinion as fact or DM ruling. )
